What a great mix of cars at this event, thanks to Clive of the Mercedes-Benz Club for organising and to all those who I chatted to, it was a really enjoyable day.

Colour really does transform a car doesn't it. Bright colours like red are very overt and sporty while the same car painted darker blues and greens or pastel shades can look really classy.
The W111 is absolutely stunning and has to be an example of Mercedes Benz at it's very best. Just looking at the close up shots of that dash board which ooze quality and style.
The R129 looks beautiful in that light blue..one of the people I'm.Sumdays drive it day convoy has a white SL but again I think there is a Dallas connection there as white SL's screen 1980's excess.
I saw a fintail last summer at Castle Howard, it's what springs to mind when you think of a classic premium saloon.
There is a real broad selection of cars on display there and no doubt a very diverse community built around them.
400 kg removed from that track car must have made a huge difference to the feel of the car, modern cars have become so heavy over the years. I'm no expert on Ring times but anything starting with a 7 sounds pretty impressive.
The Japanese import 190E looks like an interesting car. I wonder if they typically all had a higher standard spec than the European cars in the same way that famous batch of Rover Tomcats did.
I do often wonder if we will look back as fondly on the current gen Mercedes as we do at those older ones.
I've only ever seen photos and video of a Maybach so it's a real treat that you were able to see this one. An example of maintenance cost potentially outweighing the value of an aging slice of luxury.
That armoured car is an interesting piece of history.
I'm.certainly no expert on Mercedes but I really enjoyed this one Simon.

Thanks Mark, the W111 also had factory A/C which must have been unheard of at the time.. I'm sorely tempted by a 190E 2.6, especially with A/C after last summer.. The race-car W202 was an obsession with a lap time and a testament to what somebody can achieve at home, just amazing!

Great video! Thanks for the feature of my 1993 W201 190E 2.6L Sportline! ☺️

@@astailor26 thanks, my pleasure, as you know I’m slightly biased towards 190E but would love a 2.6!
