In Chile too, raw with salt and lemon juice it's delicious.
I live in Australia and I always eat both parts.

@@DaveDVideoMaker what would he know? But seriously in new zealand and Australia they taste of scallop, and are very tender. But we eat them straight out of the water, as fresh as you can get.

I have never seen them like that in Canada. That might be in part because they are not that common end very expensive, but I have had them a few times. Certainly not at a chippy.

@@DeRien8 My knowledge of sea and sea life is slim to none, never really bothered to learn about it. I do know there is a creature, similar to a snail - dont know its name, that when it out grows its shell, it migrates to a new one. I was thinking somewhere in that field. NOW I know and will use it as a pick up line haha ^_^

I eat scallops without the orange thingy, taste pretty good. I tried the orange by itself and its a little bland
