Americans must realise that their country cannot retain exceptionalism without the moral high ground, and it loses this moral high ground when a president is by definition not a war criminal simply because he is an American president. I hope and pray that Americans can grasp the opportunity to retain their greatness by a return to the rule of law and a literal beating of swords and shields into plow shears. Mr Sea Turtle America and the civilized tradition of rule of law and government by the people and for the people, has earned it the reputation of being responsible and responsive to the dictates of justice and human rights. The coup in America by the military industrial complex fueled by the criminal Illuminati banksters and their Nazi Zionist whore media has destroyed this. America is no more... I'm not really sure (exactly) where you're coming from, but this sounds analogous to 'we're losing the country...' As for justice and human rights, you seem delude(?). The US, at the end of WW2, had about half the wealth of the world and thought it out to own the world because of this. Its Imperial agenda in the last 60 years (masquerading as a democratic liberator) has actually earned the country the reputation, rightful, as first place for terrorist aggression on other countries. Further, the US does not recognize the UN Charter for invading other countries, is a gross repeater of war crimes and it does not recognize the international war crimes tribunal. How you maintain its a leader in in justice and human rights makes me suspicious of your post.

On the environment...why don't we, the people, just side step the government? We don't need the government to recycle, reuse, respect nature, drive an energy efficient car, etc. We should be hearing these things all of the time instead of wasting our time on celebrities and sports figures. Because the corporations don't care and won't follow those advice. Only the government is powerful enough to enforce the rules. It is at the corporate level that counts, the effect of individual choices have little impact when compared to the global reach of the corporations. Also, you can't drive these "energy efficient cars" when the corporations don't MAKE them in the first place. +Dexter Lecter There are over a billion people in both india and china... They have vast territories, with great access to global trade... In a democratic world, where England or the US doesnt dominate through war and sabotage etc, and india and china being about 40% of earths population (compared to the US 5%), they should rightfully play a larger and larger role, especially in their own hemisphere... The world didnt recognize this obvious fact not that long ago, but these days, you have to be really anti-democratic to think that india and china need to be held down for the enrichment of a few westerners... Millions were starving in china as recently as the 60s, and now they drive rovers on the moon... The progress they've made is HUGE, and they arent about to stop.
+Dexter Lecter I think it's because people forget or don't realise that China and India are actually part of the system. If they weren't, we wouldn't access each other and our monies would not be exchangeable. People of the world get tied up in the myth of the international supremacy of their own state politicians - who all operate within the system or find themselves excluded, which would be a disaster for most everyone existing in excluded states.

@@DowntownsUptown No, a refusal to vote makes the right to complain stronger. Said by an European. I stopped voting because this system can no longer be promoted. Choosing between two evils is participating in evil anyway.
Same old shit, same old flavour
The Roman Empire. The Persian Empire. Genghis Khan.....all controlled far more areas of the world. Yes history is easily forgotten. He was/is and will always be a critic of the U.S. the greatest country in the world.
lol.
The only thing great about USA is fucking up other countries!
Please turn up the volume. I can barely hear it.
Oh man I watched right through waiting for the " way forward" part- But no, no ray of hope to be found. Also why does this only have 300K views? This is required knowledge
Western society is inundated in a sleep-like dream state. The American Dream, that's why.
Better it doesn't get so many view or the powers that be will find a way to take the video down.
Might be shadow banned
Nothing is what it makes itself out to be anymore and profit and power are the only incentives for action
"One of these i things" =) god damn Chomsky is funny =)
@old baufone hey watch your letter typing what's the matter with you even though we've already been through this you don't want to go to HELL
I can't work out if he's referring to England or Britain. In 1776 there was and still is a country called England, but it belongs to Britain, along with Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Incidentally, Adam Smith was Scottish.
Brilliant.
Hey Chomsky, ( 29:18-30 ) I suppose you take the view that the rockets, all of them going one way only, and the suicide attacks aimed at civilians, all of which also go one way only, are illegal too ?
We live in a society of bullshit!
One only knows what we are intended to hear and see
There fear has always been chaos.
Strongly suggest you lose the loud intro music!
does anyone else laugh at the huge contrast between the intro and the actual video? :D
You mean the title? I was thinking about that, too. Doesn't seem like there's much about resistance.
It made me adjust the volume control.
i almost fell asleep halfway through the video. this guy is what you call, a walking encyclopedia. (not exaggerated)
check your ego and listen to this man
Adam Smith - I am an economist and Chomsky is right. People think Smith was a right winger but he was broad in his views. Hat is some of his ideas were liberal.
Vietnam finally makes sense. The real reason we were there.
Is Noam a Coke or Pepsi Man?
Fersomling what a stupid questio....oh I see what you did that. 😉
In the case of Mr Chomsky it's better to just listen and don't resist......If you want to transcend
The starving people of Venezuela show me all the Noam I need to see.
That was not real socialism! 😁
Socialism is not the problem. The real problem is Sanctions which have proven to be a weapon of mass destruction overtly employed by USA to kill people in Socialistic states including CUBA.
He hasn't said who owns the world he was talking about the challenges that the U.S, and the word face such as the possible war in the middle east(Iran) and the global economy etc.
🤔
The Illuminati's Hegelian dialectic
TV channel 41: Vote left !

Oh, well, I voted for the poor little puppet in the middle!
Yay! We all voted!
Hmmm How did we get another puppet elected ?
please please please please equalize the volume of the intro and main body of the video
What an incredibly depressing video
Most things in life function to blind us to uncertainty in order to regulate our nervous system so expect many more
The only resistance Noam displays is giving a straight answer and bowel
Keep at them Noam - we are right behind you morally , intellectually and physically when need be........
We own the world ❤and if some piece of it becomes independent, then we have loss it 🎉
Jews needed a homeland, that is legitimate and can not be denied. Now, as you stated, that event required the blessing of the prevailing. Istael is being used as a wedge. If Arab nations and the USA wanted to solve the conflict it would be very easy, just absorb the "palestinians" into Egypt, Jordan, Israel and the USA. I would rather live in the Sinai desert that sharing the place with people I hate.
Can some one PLEASE tell me why people think China and India will become the next hegemonic force??? I have thought it through in a financial, social, genetic and other context and can not make sense of how it can happen unless we go out of our way to allow it to happen.
+Dexter Lecter social? genetic? cannot picture how these factors affect your question.
Shrawan Kumar Mageswaran The field of sociology covers those areas...
+Dexter Lecter There are over a billion people in both india and china... They have vast territories, with great access to global trade...
In a democratic world, where England or the US doesnt dominate through war and sabotage etc, and india and china being about 40% of earths population
(compared to the US 5%), they should rightfully play a larger and larger role, especially in their own hemisphere...
Frabbledabble I see. Just seems like it will take a very long time though.
+Dexter Lecter
I think it's because people forget or don't realise that China and India are actually part of the system. If they weren't, we wouldn't access each other and our monies would not be exchangeable. People of the world get tied up in the myth of the international supremacy of their own state politicians - who all operate within the system or find themselves excluded, which would be a disaster for most everyone existing in excluded states.
TURN IT UP!!!!
Ok so who owns the world and what is the way out?
Watching this in 2021. 18:00
I didn't appreciate that smashing noise at the begging and end.....
Yes, Germany supplies subs to Israel, Mr. Chomsky, but doesn't Russia supply them to Iran?
Was there a silver lining somewhere in that speech?
America only democratic to its own domestic issues or people, but far from democratic toward foreign countries!
2020 now.....no change.
Listening in 2023 still plenty ice in Antarctica ant South Pole and Greenland.
8:10 I heard a Jewish person talking about needing to recuperate Gaza. Only, Gaza isn't part of Israel. I know they need to do something about the dangerous people throwing rockets into street s, but there's no "recuperating".
Pardon me sir but is not the usa born out of britian and europe
His logic is dead on and his perspective is both explicit and plausible to say the least.
Thanks uploader.
suffering in silence, is always a choice, never a necessity. As long as your unwilling to make your opinion heard, you will never have a voice
hyman minsky said it best " stable markets are inherently unstable " . michael hudson wrote a book " killing the host " among others and lastly ralph nader's father said something like .......don't worry about " capitalism because socialism has always been used to support it " watch " money as debt " on youtube
A lot people mention good and bad in the comments section, Malcolm X said there will come a time when the media will have us supporting the oppressor but not the oppressed, in other words we will be tricked into believing the oppressor is the oppressed, ex Palestine.
There's a standard procedure to follow when one of your favorite dictactors gets into trouble
LECTURER FROM GOD!!! Every word you say is true!
You truly are the "AMBASSADOR OF PEACE AND SANITY"!
Great job Noam!
Way of Heart Meditation,
Curses! We are members of the Illuminati! And Chomsky is exposing all our secrets!
Maybe we can still buy up all the tin-foil in the world, so Chomsky's fans won't be able to make hats & protect their brains from our Thought-Control-Beams!
SMH...
I agree with others in the idea that religion is just a viral meme. I find the whole idea of stealing a person's entire life, for a promise of another life, is the most pernicious idea. I find Nietzsche's idea quite amazing, that those that yearn for another world, should just stop waiting and save the rest of us a bunch of grief.
