Singxer SA-1 Balanced amplifier Review and Impressions

6.5w, balanced, single ended, 4.4, 6.35, XLR headphone outs. XLR and RCA inputs. 0.7 ohm output impedance. This thing sounds VERY class A, round, bombastic and powerful.

Good review. The headphone I was mentioning that it pairs pretty well with is Hifiman Edition XS (after sa-1 jumper mod).
I don’t like this amp for any other overear headphones.
I would not use sa-1 for any hard to drive planars.
Basically XS is the only headphone I liked it for because it reaches fairly close to the full capability of the headphone.

Built like the proverbial Brick Sh!t House.
Great explanation of the DC offset ..but most DAC’s that you’re probably going to use are of sufficient quality to not be an issue.
The placing of dip switches on the base ..is meh .
A definite improvement on all the amps that you might consider is the GSX mini ….but it it’s substantially more expensive.
