    Hello, I’m a locksmith in South Africa and I also have a Futura Pro, I may have not yet cut that key of the Mercedes but if you check it would say the stop is on “0” so you just put in the key till the shoulder hits the jaw and then you clamp on it you’re not supposed to use the blade stop

    Very detailed comparison thanks for the effort. I will soon open a locksmith shop and I thought to buy Silca Futura but after this video I will definitely order Ninja Total. Thanks for the advice.

    Corrections.. It's a Carbide cutter for single and double-sided keys on the Ninja. The Futura is said to be mild steel with plating for strength, but unconfirmed No.2 = you can make cards in .10 or .05 increments, I had it set to .10 in the video. But you can change it to .05 with the button on the side menu.

    The Futura Pro allows for adjusting the amount of passes which can be set to one pass which will cut the key on one pass. The adjustment is in place to prolong the cutter and the motor. But that is adjustable.

    The ninja is 50%heavier going by your figures ,that's more than a little , now Keyline have offered me a discount I'm leaning towards the ninja ,the only thing I don't like is that it cuts in one pass & on a thick nikle silver key it does not like it at all .

    At 22:21 it doesn't have the red line you mentioned BECAUSE it says STOP 0 (Zero) which is the shoulder of the key butting up against the jaw not STOP 2 that you used.

    37:00 That series has an odd/even rule, so there can't be a 8 twice. I do think the 9 is correct.

    I have a question ,Silca are offering 30% off (2024) making the top model with free updates ,jaws etc the same price as a Ninja total ,with this knowledge which machine would you go for ? Your answer will help greatly in my decision . Thank you & happy New year .

      if Silca is 30%, then Silca, but they both do the same thing, its like Rolls and Bently - the same just used preference

    Hi DL great review of the machines your right about the noise the futura makes the sound like a unicode 399 when it breaks, do the machines come with all the cards installed? Well Done! Cheers

    53:06 who's making those key blanks? I recognize the key as a Lowe & Fletcher Australia usually seen on swimming pool gate locks. Prohibitively expensive here is the USA.

    Dunno if its a model version issue but i received mine a day ago and the reading is pretty fast.
    On the beginning of your video it makes 3 passes for one cut... mine only does 2 and the second pas is only for high depths (so a bit faster).
    Machine feels robust tbh. Copy by code, or card is fine and fast.
    I have one down side to the longevity of the machine is while engraving. When the machine engrave sideways (z letter for exemple) it does make an unconfortable noise like the machine is under load.
    I wonder if there is a way to lower the speed of engraving like you can lower the speed for the cuts...

      @DrLockShop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can set the pass rate, mine was on 2, but maybe 3 would of been better to save the cutter... Its not all bad, it works
