You did a great job on that Sam and it was interesting seeing it all come together. I challenge you to make a 3D printed DeLorean to be pushed by a loco like in Back to the Future 3.
Sam God Bless you! God bless you for reminding people whether they like it or not that this is a HOBBY! A hobby where you can experiment, have fun and enjoy it. I thoroughly enjoyed this and the sleigh and reindeer look incredibly charming :D Never stop being awesome sir 👍🏼
haha thank you very much for the kind words - that's right - who cares about anything as long as it's fun? Too many people do forget this... but it's only they who lose out ;) Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I may use this as a test case against TH-cam where you have a children's theme idea how to. I have been destroyed by the TH-cam systems who would see this video if it was on my channels as 'TH-cam Kids'. No matter what argument I put in an appeal I lose every time. It's incredibly destructive to my spirit on this site today that's done it's best to destroy core long term creators.
11:46 so true hahaha. Also some 3D prints have magnetic bed modifications. Basically it’s a bed that you do your prints on and then you can take the bed off so it’s easier to take off your prints. The bed is bendable and make my life so much easier. Not sure if they have them on that printer but it’s worth a look
haha! Yeah my other 2 machines have the bendy beds... but this one does the detailing better, so decided to use it... not a huge deal to get the prints off! Thanks for watching, Sam :)
This was just splendid. Truly ridiculous object and I bet it would be a massive seller! It turned out great! Merry Christmas Sam and thank you for another year of Sam’s Trains!!
Okay I came for the fun 3D modelling stuff, that you're getting pretty good at, and there was the free second part ;) (glad to see that Santa's hastily stitched arms and legs held on for the whole past year...)
Just to take this challenge further, you could work out a way to use wheels off a steam loco, using the rod fixing points & putting joints/pivots in the reindeer legs, it would look like the legs are running! You could also make multiple reindeer & give them all couplings front & rear to make a train of 4 or 5 'vehicles'
Yes but could you have a coupler on the front and back of the reindeer so that you can 3d print more and more deer to add to Santa's sleigh? To make it extremely long.
You could make dual reindeer side by side to slim the design down? a good design might be to have differently placed pins (in and out varying between sides) so that the whole thing can come together only one way - making assembly far easier and only complicating factor is just matter of dragging a line.
Thanks so much Tee! I don't have plans to make any more balancing coaches right now, but I am planning to release more new models soon! :D Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Thank you so much! I think that would be tricky... it'd have to be a bit fatter than the Hornby low loader... but yeah I think it could be done! :D Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Very nice, looks fantastic. Surprised you didn't try to put a motor in the sleigh so it could push itself along. I'd have made 4 reindeer to go in front, with clear plastic separators to hold them together and in place, and used thread to mimic reigns. Tbh I would've also just made it smaller so it fits the loading gauge.
Good Fun and mixed with some instruction. Some filets along leg edges would make for a better looking model but it is typical of a Christmas Tree ornament to have square edges. Merry Christmas, Happy Boxing Day, and a profitable New Year.
Hey Sam, funny thing - I just saw you on the television! You were featured as part of a trailer for Hornby: A Model World on Yesterday, showing a bit of you when you had your trains pull you along!
..."i just remembered reindeer have ears..." best remark from Sam ever... great build and hats off to you to do something different... had to laugh as i saw the tango and class 15 at the rubbish bin👍🏻😎Neil
Wow....that was impressive Sam. Right through the 3D print to the mini vid. Well done. Naughty Gordon. 🤣🤣🤣 A very merry Christmas to you and yours mate.
This is amazing Sam. Santa Sleigh on rails. I love it. I was thinking, though, since you make so many wacky train and rolling stock designs, is there a chance I can send some wacky train and rolling stock designs, including steampunk ones? Maybe a space train as well?
You could make more reindeer and couple them together. I bet your little "Santa's Little Engine" from previous Christmas specials could pull it all too
23:38, I like how Mr.Sam voices the engines. Anyways, still waiting for the BR class 28. And when Mr.Sam will decide to start a OO9 scale model railway. I don’t have a model railway myself but I wish I could have one and I wish I could take some of the model’s that I would get and make my Character’s.
This made me think of the motorized “moose on a treadmill” railcar that a friend of mine made in G scale - see his video here: th-cam.com/video/wuDoaXrb5p8/w-d-xo.html (also check out his channel for lots of live steam action on his beautiful garden railway). I could imagine something like this, scaled down to OO or O scale, with a reindeer instead of a moose, pulling Santa’s sleigh.
I love how Percy is the only one who knows what Santa’s sleigh is.
You would think Edward would be the one. lol
A yes its Bullmans half brother!
A very lovely project indeed Mr Warwell!
Also, Thomas with teeth is mildly terrifying!
haha that's true actually - maybe they can be friends! He certainly is! ;D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I'm here for more Thomas the Tooth Engine segments
@@SamsTrains happy Christmas surprise day!

Brilliant. And actually a genius way of building the reindeer.
Thank you!! It sure saved a lot of time! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Wasn't expecting this. Amazing, love the design and execution.
Thank you so much Adam! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
The best model railway channel on TH-cam does it again 🎄
haha thank you so much!!! :D
Merry Christmas,
Sam :)
It looks incredibly good!, apart from the wheels and couplings it looks like an actual christmas toy!
haha thank you! I did consider just making one without the wheels for a decoration... didn't get time in the end!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
deer oh deer it looks so funny with the back legs mirrored :D
The engines were freaked out by the Reindeer with wheels and a rope through its neck!. Brilliant Sam and creepy.
Hi Sam, brilliant video mate, merry Christmas and a happy new year

Totally daft experiments/projects.
Merry Christmas, and thanks for the entertainment!

Nice one Sam a amazing christmas and a happy new year.
Looks good, you should try to print a tender engine again.
I should! I'll think about that again next year! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)

A great idea Sam, that turned out to be pretty decent too.
Brilliant! Great job, Sam, and this cheered me no end :) Merry, merry!
Oh, hahah, brilliantly funny. Sam’s Train Works has done it again 👍👏 🏭 🎄 🎅

Bloomin Amazing!!! Nice one Sam!

The creativity in these videos is always above par, keep it up Sam. And Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much, really appreciate it! Merry Christmas! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Hi Sam. Absolutely brilliant! Next video a 3D Santa?
Excellent work! And I think it is a model of something you could see on a railroads' Christmas Display for public relations.😉
Suggestion add a small motor in the sleigh and some pick ups and you’ve got a sleigh that psycho knock off thomas and ride on
Thats brilliant Sam keep up the good work.
Well done Sam, that's a brilliant video
What a great episode. Thank you and Merry Christmas Sam.

haha thanks so much Damien! Yes absolutely... though he's been back for a few more surgeries over the year!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I'm always glad to see when you get weird with your videos! Keep up the good work!
Hi sam great job on the model it looks amazing
Fantastic job Sam!
Great stuff Sam. you are realy getting your moneys worth out of the printer!
Great project, have a happy Xmas .
Absolutely brilliant!! Sam, you're as charming as you are nutty.
Merry Christmas!! 🎄
Looks great! 👍
Sam - good to see you wearing the respirator.....Safety pays in the every way and it's a good example of procedure for your viewers.
Well done Sam, I think that is a lovely model and I wouldn't mind having one sitting on my desk at college. Martin. (Thailand)

Its always a adventure with Sam’s trains. One heck of a trip.
haha thank you matt! :D
Merry Christmas Sam
This was absolutely brilliant and seriously under appreciated
Brilliant! How did you do the animations, particularly the locomotives speaking? I’m most impressed with your talents. Happy Christmas! Adrian
Nicely done. All this Christmas modeling makes me want to run my trains again.

Great! Now Santa man can go places
When Santa needs to get to sodor
Merry Christmas to our host of these amazing videos and streams😊
Awesome model you built of a reindeer with Santa’s sleigh! All you need is a Santa figurine along with some presents and it’s all complete! 😂🎅🎄
haha that's true - maybe I'll make a Santa for it some time! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
24:55 Santa’s sleigh realization
This looked so professional in the thumbnail I thought it was a new Hornby model
Oh look a Samta Claus train is it an Ho-Ho-Ho scale model?
This was a fun little project for Christmas.
Great video and ohh dear if it de rails.
Many thanks
Harry
Thanks a lot Harry... perish the thought!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Absolutely brilliant!…all he best….cheers
Merry Christmas Sam !! Next project - a Clan or a Class 37 - OK you've got 7 days, best get started lad.
Merry Christmas! haha those may take a little longer! ;D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Just brilliant. Cheers pal. have a wonderful Christmas.
Thanks so much Stephen - you too my friend!

Fantastic! Also will you make more two wheel balancing coaches available on your Etsy store? Thanks
Thanks so much Tee! I don't have plans to make any more balancing coaches right now, but I am planning to release more new models soon! :D

Hi Sam,
Just came to talk about you brief cameo in hornby a model world
My father was very confused with me shouting at the TV going"ITS SAAAM!!"
haha fantastic - very glad you were able to catch it! I really liked that one - came out nicely! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I like the little bit at the end! Speaking of your Christmas videos, will you ever design a powered version of a wagon to carry Bullman?
Thank you so much! I think that would be tricky... it'd have to be a bit fatter than the Hornby low loader... but yeah I think it could be done! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)

@@SamsTrains just noticed, you put the reindeer's rear legs on backwards. Hehe

Merry Christmas, Happy Boxing Day, and a profitable New Year.
Thanks a lot Peter - yes that might have been a good move actually!
All the same to you too, Merry Christmas,
Sam :)
I love it. Maybe next year you could add a motor to the sleigh.
Thanks Colin! I did consider that - but it wouldn't be able to push the reindeer without some kind of special coupling!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Sam it looks great Sam Have fun with it
That was different. Lots of fun!
An exceptionally great video. Very creative and fun. Will these be on sale? I hope so. And the story with Gordon is great fun.
Woah you are just amazing at 3D printing it would be so cool if you could make a working ho version of locomotive 6029
Hey Sam, funny thing - I just saw you on the television! You were featured as part of a trailer for Hornby: A Model World on Yesterday, showing a bit of you when you had your trains pull you along!
you’re awesome Sam this was really entertaining and for some reason it felt nostalgic
Thanks so much Ian - very pleased to hear that! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Sam, VERY GOOD! A good mind gets excellent results!
Thanks so much Tony, appreciate it! :D
Merry Christmas,
Sam :)
Simply brilliant I say. Now I challenge you to make the full set of reindeer complete with the boss himself...Santa...all before Christmas🍺
Nicely done Sam. Merry Christmas!
Ta very much William! :D
..."i just remembered reindeer have ears..." best remark from Sam ever... great build and hats off to you to do something different... had to laugh as i saw the tango and class 15 at the rubbish bin👍🏻😎Neil
haha thanks Neil... you learn something new every day!!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Steam, diesel and now moss powered! Or do they run on sparkles??? :-)
Brilliant ending.
Great video, maybe just put some ivory/pale brown on the antlers and a red nose to make Rudolf really 'POP'.
Wow....that was impressive Sam. Right through the 3D print to the mini vid. Well done. Naughty Gordon. 🤣🤣🤣
A very merry Christmas to you and yours mate.
Thanks very much mate - really glad you enjoyed it! :D

A Rain Deer that runs on thr Rails - now I've seen it all!!! 😉🚂🚂🚂
Next challenge - actual powered reindeer and sleigh combo!
Loved the ending
Nice Sam Santa's taking rails now!
Brilliant Sam 👍
Merry Christmas everyone.
I do not do Christmas but this is a wonderful thing you have created. Your very talented!
You're very kind Sam, thanks a lot for the comment!
Merry Christmas,
Sam :)
How about finishing the salvage or scrap series for the year
You could make more reindeer and couple them together. I bet your little "Santa's Little Engine" from previous Christmas specials could pull it all too
Yeah totally! And that'd be a great pairing actually :D
Merry Christmas,
Sam :)
I got a resin printer for my birthday with a washing/harding machine for the printed items!
Fantastic job, I love it. I might try to make one of those myself. Any chance that you would share the file?
Probably sparkles
So this is how Gordon went to the scrap yard in the sky and became a ghost. That sleigh was pretty cool.
haha exactly!! lol! ;D
Thank you - glad you liked it!
Merry Christmas,
Sam :)
I love this channel so much I love watching your vids and I hope you make more brilliant vids
Oh wow that's cool XD! Great video. A reindeer with a NEM coupling.
Will you get a Hornby Hush Hush?
I love it!
