Great video mate.... Easy to follow! I have multiple websites and was dreading it Lol Is there a way to save GA3 data? I have about 11 years of tracking for my main site 🤦🏾♂️
I managed to connect my site to GA4, yaay! Had some problems connecting and it kept of failing but then i tried disabling my Ads Blocker and somehow it worked! Thanks a lot, saved me a lot of time trying to understand this, your explanation was very clear cut too. Will defo get back from time to time, not used to new changed within Google.
Why not just create a separate property for a different domain name which is tied to a different website instead of adding it to the list of domains to track?
Excellent explainer! Question: I’ve have installed GA3 for one property but not Tag Manager. Do you think I should install and configure Tag Manager first, and then migrate to GA4? Or does it matter?
I cant find the measurement ID, I did not write the measurement ID and I need it now. How do I go back in there to get my the measurement id I have tries everything and cannot find it! Please help!
Not easy to follow at all, I install the script into my page and what next?? I never had tag manager, so do i need to set it up? when i set it up, it gives me another script to install and that is not showed on your video? What to do next?
I got to 6:04 where it asked to go to Configure and that option is not available to me in the sidebar. Everything else is present except for that icon. Is there something I am missing?
Yes, GA4 can track users across multiple devices and platforms, including web, mobile, and apps, making it easier to understand how users interact with your content across different devices.
You can now load the Ecommerce data in your GA4 Event tags directly from the dataLayer (if you follow the prescribed GA4 schema) or by using a Custom JavaScript variable (or a variable template) that returns an object in the same schema.
Hi, please help to clarify, if I create a new property for GA4, will I be able to view my old data from GA3? It is very important for me to retain my old data. Please let me know how I can accomplish this.
@@AnalyticsMania Thank you for the clarification. Just to confirm, after creating a new property for GA4, I`m still will be able to view my old data using the GA3 property until July 2024? Is my understanding correct?
Please rename your video title to "How to CREATE to Google Analytics 4". This video is not the upgrade, you simply show how to create te GA4 property. Upgrade should involve GA3 data transfer to GA4.
I upgraded my UA property to GA4, however all history data is missing in the newly created GA4 property. Is there a way to export UA history data into GA4?
@@AnalyticsMania any alternate methods or is it a setup problem because of that my data was not visible I have seen in this video the feature of data retentention if it chance it to last 12 or which ever the number can I get my old data of UA populated on GA4 or that’s not the case
Once my new GA4 property starts collecting data my previous UA data became mess..i guess it's showing a mixed value from both property from the day GA4 started collecting data. What should i do now? Can someone help me?
@@sathishkumars213 I don’t know. I removed my UA, everything. I just have GA4. Don’t copy me. Search for it on TH-cam how to do it. Test it with only one tracking code and then in settings in GA4 tick the UA link.

Thank you! Ačiū labai už tokį konkretų video!
My dev team tried to charge us $7800 to upgrade our GA to GA4. Unbelievable
That is the price of not knowing what to do 😅
I hope you fired them.
Wow that’s crazy….
What would you charge me to migrate my to GA4? I'm flummoxed!

Great video, thanks so much!
Excellent explainer!
Question: I’ve have installed GA3 for one property but not Tag Manager. Do you think I should install and configure Tag Manager first, and then migrate to GA4? Or does it matter?
I would install GTM and then install GA4 with it
Also is your GA4 course good for beginners who are new to Google Analytics?
Yes
I cant find the measurement ID, I did not write the measurement ID and I need it now. How do I go back in there to get my the measurement id

When you add your domains, do you need to install the tag on those websites?
Yes
Amazing Video

You should find it now under 'Admin' and then 'Property'. There you will find 'Debugview' somewhere near the bottom
Me too, did you manage to solve this?
thank u so much
Thank you for this video! I tried to "Create Property" but the option is greyed out and I can't click it, how do I fix that?
Sounds like you don't have enough permissions
@@AnalyticsMania you're right! Just managed to fix that now, thank you for the great info
Great Work. How can I move annotations from Universal to GA4?
No
Im upgrading to GA to GA4 but I've collected so much data over the years on GA. How do I transfer all that valuable data?
You cannot transfer UA data to GA4
@@AnalyticsMania Thanks. Whats a work around? I rely on that data for Google ads and insights.
thanks
5:01 there is no "new" button. Is there a limit to how many I can create?
Sounds like you don't have enough permissions in the GTM container
Hi, very helpful video. I tried to get the free ebook but the link is not working.
Hi, can you elaborate? What exactly is not working?
@@AnalyticsMania I click the button and nothing happens. Mac on Chrome.
Hi Can I transfer UA data to the GA4 ?
No
@@AnalyticsMania aww, is there a based way to save the previous data? Or after July 2023, the GA3 datas will be gone for good? Thank you for answering
I wish I had known this sooner.
Can GA4 be used to track across different platforms, such as websites and mobile apps?
Yes, GA4 can track users across multiple devices and platforms, including web, mobile, and apps, making it easier to understand how users interact with your content across different devices.
Can GA4 be used to track e-commerce transactions?
You can now load the Ecommerce data in your GA4 Event tags directly from the dataLayer (if you follow the prescribed GA4 schema) or by using a Custom JavaScript variable (or a variable template) that returns an object in the same schema.
If we cant transfer any data, why is google msking us use GA4?
You can choose other alternatives if you want
Hi, please help to clarify, if I create a new property for GA4, will I be able to view my old data from GA3? It is very important for me to retain my old data. Please let me know how I can accomplish this.
Yes. But your old GA3 data will expire in 2024 july 1st anyway. Google will eventually remove everything related to GA3 in 2024

It is impossible to transfer data

Why google has to make this so complex?
Because they don’t know about simplicity
