Ever since Firefly’s big reveal, I’ve wished for artists and animators to start swapping Sam/Firefly moments, like reliving our first meeting with Firefly but instead of a cute girl skipping around with us it’s a huge mecha taking a selfie and getting sentimental. I am elated that everyone was and is on the same page as me. I’ve never been so happy.

hilariously, that was originally an accident lmfao. When I was animating sam's scene, i made the fire invisible, but i didnt actually turn it off for when it rendered. so when i rendered the scene and watched the mp4, it was sam with his giantass flames pumping out his chest and i laughed so hard lmfao i was like "ok i have to keep this in somehow."

it’s actually kind of scary how accurate and realistic that is firefly and sam could have easily had swapped roles and the voice actors playing along and speaking each other’s lines just further proves that point

As black swan and Acheron have green outlines and we don’t in her eyes. Almost like she sees them as a threat and wants to protect us? Just thought (I love FIREFLY VA doing the Sam lines! So tough but still wholesome since it’s Firefly!) Analesa can do one heck of a menacing Firefly! (Despite her being so sweet)!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed it. I totally get why they didn't do this - it would have gone viral in the community if they had, and would have been a really obvious gameplay tell - but I wish Sam didn't attack Trailblazer in that boss fight, and if all your other party members got knocked out, you'd get a different scene. Would be really cool, but I understand why it wasn't done lol
Sam/Firefly does have a reputation for settling problems with force, you can intepret that she also attacks Trailblazer so she can just carry their unconcious body away to a safe place. All the defeated animations are just the characters kneeling down after all.
And don't forget that in actual fighting cutscene Sam only fights Acheron and when she goes for Trailblazer, instead of attacking she tries to grab them with her hand to fly them away from danger. What a caring wife. Best girl indeed.

It just hits really hard seeing this stoic, intimidating character just open up, as you remember they're just another human under all those modifications. 343 nailed it with Master Chief in the second Halo trilogy
The rooftop scene with Sam instead of Firefly really hits home just how bad her situation is. There is a real chance that the Sam Armor is the only thing keeping Firefly functioning at this point, if not outright keeping her alive. And hearing a hulking beast of metal confess his despair at his condition somehow hits harder than a petit girl talking about it. Yeah, it's terrible either way, but the contrast between something that looks strong and unfeeling admitting his weakness is startling.
Adin really managed to portray the emotions almost as genuinely as Analesa did. That voice crack at the end of subtle, but you just know Firefly is tearing up underneath that mask
I think it's a little easier to mentally separate Firefly's condition from her current state when she appears healthy, but when she's talking about her entropy loss syndrome, the medical cabin, and how much she's enjoying the opportunity to just experience life in her own body, and is in Sam the whole time it drives home the inescapable-ness of her situation outside the dream.
SAM speaking Fly's line's hits different, the armor sort of loses the tokusatsu superhero connotations, and takes on a like, a Darth Vader-esque life support system vibe.
Brb gonna go cry at the Sam-ified version of Firefly's confession to Caelus/Stelle. Seeing the intimidating men of Star Rail being vulnerable makes my soul ACHE

The facial expressions on the conversation with Acheron were such on point that it makes me believe these were the actual expressions she made behind the helmet during those dialogues. And those close shots on the hands? That's some really awesome cinematic stuff. Good job man, really good job
Seeing this video helped me with rewatching the scenes with Sam and recontextualizing now that we know what we know about Firefly. Sam’s scene with Acheron is more emotional for it.
Sam’s talk about burning bright until they are extinguished makes so much more sense with the knowledge that firefly is Sam. The burning bright but fast is a hint at how she suffers from her disease but still tries to do things as Sam with the Stellaron Hunters

Firefly with Sams voice really gives the impression that she's syncing her lips and movements with SAM'S voice, who's offscreen, and I find that very cute.

I honestly prefer this. It was really hard for me to connect to firefly in the game,this gave her lot more character then what we got and actually made her interesting for me. also the whiplash of the voice coming from firefly gives me life .
