The Griffins, (and maybe some of the other switches), while noticeably quieter, have a slight mushy feeling to them due to the rubber padding inside of the switches. It's a slight adjustment from something more tactile, but these switches are exactly what I was looking for, a good sounding, silent tactile switch.
I have the phoenix switches because I prefer a very silent switch. Using them with MT3 profile susuwatari and the keyboard feel is outstanding. Good review, as I was wondering what the other gamakays silents actually sound like.
@@ltsmash9544 i would recommend. i mainly bought it to kill the noise that would bother people when typing during meetings. this helped. the one thing that i noticed as well is that its heavier than the keycron one i had, so it took sometime to get used to. if you don't like that, avoid this one. im used to it now, and happy.
Thank you so much for the review. I got a nice Risophy which was nice but the people I lived with have complained its too loud and this is very informative.
As much as I've wanted a clicky keyboard, that wouldn't work in my household, so I ended up getting a Gamakey 75 with the Griffin switches. Thank you very much for doing this video comparing the three switches, since it was instrumental in picking the one I wanted. I needed something quiet, but I liked the subtle "thock" you still get. The feel is a bit difficult to describe. Saying they're "mushy" isn't inaccurate, but also sounds kind of negative. They're definitely tactile and have a noticeable bump, so it ends up being satisfying typing experience. Kind of like kneading bread, if that makes sense.
i got the pegasus along with a sn75 bb kit and these silent switches surprised me so much. i prefer linears mostly but these are sooo silent and arent heavy like gateron inks or have a padded muted feeling they are just smooth, bump and silencio. its still light typing feel with a obvious bump but not heavy - very interesting combination that i personally like.
I'm torn between the pegasus and griffin switches. The griffins are noticeably louder, but have a more appealing sound. I feel like the pegasus sound a bit mushy/scratchy while the griffins have a louder but more pleasant bottoming out sound and less scratching while traveling. Hmmm
@@Matt-dx2mksame here, think the griffins are silent but a little thocky, the pegasus are just nice and quiet. Might go griffins due to that slight satisfying thock.
As a user of cherry browns, I'm definitely looking for something with a little more positive tacticle feel but less clattery. I like that it doesn't have an audible click but using it still isn't very quiet.
I had a really bad experience with one of Gamakay's boards, to the extent that I wound of returning it. However, it came with Pegasus switches and I was shocked by just how good they were, both in feel and in sound(lessness). I've considered getting just the switches ever since then.
It's the opposite, the squares (and circle for other brands) around the X makes the cherry keycaps more stable, reducing wobble thus a better typing experience
For whatever reason the with these switches (the Griffin switches) the spacebar always sticks no matter what cap. but with other switches ( Gateron Browns etc.) it has no issue. Is there anything I could do? I don't mind using a different switch, but for cohesiveness I'd like to use the Griffin's
I did not expect the Pegasus to be quieter than the Phoenix. The Phoenix sounds like a combination of both Pegasus and Griffin, but louder than the other two. Griffin has too much thock or thud.
Ive been under the impression that the Pheonix were the quieter in their line of silent switched, but hearing them directly compared, Pegasus is the winner. I know what I'll be getting.
Looking at those Pegasuses. Hope it has the same feel as the Redragon Bullet-QTs. Reason: clear switch tops. Not enough lighting is being shined through with the QTs on my Keychron K8 Pro. Meanwhile, music group GroupX moment with the coupon code, despite "schifty" vs shifty.
Honestly if you are going for a silent switch pegasus is definitely the quietest of almost all cheap silent switches. If you are just aiming to get quieter switches but still have some sound then griffins probably seem ok for that thock. But if you dont need quiet there are better switches.
Use code: Shifty5 to get 5% off!
Those Pegasus won my heart! Literally exactly what I’ve been looking for and this video was so informative, thank you thank you thank you!

Been rocking these for almost a year now, couldn't be happier!

Thanks for the great guide, sound test, and discount code. Just used it to get pegasus switches. Again, great work on the video, kudos.
Hey mate! What's your thoughts on the pegasus switches now that you've used them?

@@ltsmash9544for me they’re alright. I little scratchy, but overall really quiet.

Question did you decide which one you liked more? I’m also torn and just looking for another opinion

Which is less scratchy between Pegasus and Griffin? Would be of great help to pick which Gamakay switches I should get
depends on what u want, tactile or linear? smoother or tactile?
I’m personally not a silent switch guy. I totally see the appeal though. Great video as usual!
Thank you! :D
I find myself wanting to try silent switches just to avoid the "who are you talking to?" when typing while on the phone with FWB.
Well coordinated video. Loved the content straight to the evidence and points. 5/5

Wow, that's strange, there are videos in which the Phoenix seems to be quieter but others aren't, maybe its lubrication is a little irregular

The stem portion for stability... switch: having 2 half square around the X section. Is this make a bad compatibility with cherry keycap ?

Hey shifty keys, which one is the most silent?
i would like to know if their is any silent magnetic* switches on the market right know ?
What do you think about installing switch films on the Griffins. Bad idea?

How quiet are the phoenix switches compared to blues?
Bro forgot his youtube password
Is there a way to just get one or two switches?
There 3 pin right?
do these keys work on other keyboards or only gamakay boards?
they work in any mechanical keyboard
You should collab with KeebTunes! Both of u guys are underrated but high quality
Hi, if I were to go for a more thocy sound should I go for the griffins or Pegasus?
They're quiet switches. You probably shouldn't get them if you want thock, it's better to go linears or tactiles with a deep sounding housing
Why are you not uploading you're videos are amazing
are these chinese switches reliable or durable for long term use?
why did you quit :( ?
great video!!
when is bro coming back
i like the loudness
me personally I perfer clicker and louder switches I bit more but thats just what I think
попробуй в следующий раз прожимать до конца клавиши при сравнении звука свитчей
phoenix looks like an outemu panda
Gonna buy griffin
Gridfin squad
10/10 I wish u got the love you diserved
Thank you! :D
good!!
They are way to scratchy for me for sure

pheonix is the quietest its linear too
lol realbreakingnate song
I recommend lurbeing them to make them quieter
They come pre lubed
i reccomend wearing gloves wehn you make videos and your hands are up close to camera it adds to style and makes it come off more professional
