Just had this happen on my 2017 BMW 330i. Easy DIY. You can reach around with your hand behind the alternator ! When I went to dealership for a replacement, they had plenty on hand in stock, which tells me they are making a killing on this fix. Shouldn't dealership tell you to replace this preemptively before you get stranded on freeway ?? This should be a class action law suit. Loss of coolant will get this turbo engines super hot very quick. Replace this ASAP.
Yep , same happened to my 2017 430i , did not find the same hose , I've adapted a rubber one and it works like charm for couple of months now. Thanks for the video :)
Have the same exact problem on a 2017 230i, but it is leaking from the head side. Brought it to BMW in Fife WA, told them what hose was leaking, and to just replace that hose. They called me up, and told me they wanted to charge me $1200. $200 for a diagnosis to find the problem, which i already did for them, $80 for a $30 dollar hose, so i guess the rest is $900 in labor for a 5 minute fix? I told them ill be by to pick it up, and fix myself.
Video is amazing my bmw wouldn’t hold coolant at all, stuck my hand around and found out that it was hooked up at all, saved me so much time and money thanks
I had this issue with 330i two months back and the workshop replaced the water pump with the hoses for 1500 USD I wish if I saw your video at that time
I replaced mine before it breaks. BTW, same part number for my Chinese manufactured 330i. When I uninstall it, the engine side connector just snapped without a strong force. How lucky I am.
did you ever find the leak mine is leaking from somewhere cant find it.! it just came outa now where. i fill it and it just pours out from back of engine somewhere?
Thanks a lot it was really good Video… don’t forget to remove the bracket that the person shows…because that’s where The other end of the house and retainer clip is!
Mine is leaking. It is a 528i. It's getting towed to the Euro shop tomorrow. I have been having to add coolant. It's leaking out on the garage floor. I am afraid to drive it. I live in a small town outside the city. No one in my town will work on these cars or they don't know how to.
BMW HAS A RECALL FOR THIS COOLANT HOSE ISSUE! A BME DEALERSHIP REPAIREED MINE AND NOW I WANT MY MONEY BACK FROM BMW, WILL UPDATE AFTER I TALK TO BMW USA
Just happened to mine. It wasn't that hard to replace. Poor design unfortunately. Also the dealer had these on hand (like 30 of them) seems like these go bad pretty frequently for them to have so many on hand.
I have a big leak, I looked at this video y try moving a little bit with no force that exact part y it just pop out, i hope this is the problem (bmw 120i b48)
Glad to see the new engines keeping the coolant leak tradition
