if ever I get into bark carving, I'll have to set this up in the garage
I'm looking forward to getting mine Wood Carver magazine, and I also got your paper back book about carving faces. I've only done characters but perhaps faces someday soon.
Truly believe that wall is very attractive and perhaps very helpful setup. I'm limited and for now going boxes.
My setup is mostly using the handy tool boxes that battery-operated drills and drivers often come in that I made wooden shelves to organize my tools in.
Very impressed with your video about the student's carvers with their first time carving and the results they experienced.
Hopefully, you'll get Doug for a coffee break it's good for many people, but everyone doesn't need schedules, I believe, too.
Thanks Alex

Hey Alec, what size screws do you use for attaching the bark to the piece of plywood to clamp to the stand?
Thinking you could hang these with a french cleat and move them around the shop as required.
Can you show me a sturdy, portable version? I have no wall space in my small shop. Taking it outside on a nice day would be ideal.
Good idea! Will have to do that in the future!
Did anyone notice how close to that electrical outlet that those screws are being driven through the wall are?
Thanks for pointing that out! People need to be cautious about hitting wires! I was involved in wiring the shop and know generally where the wires are but I wouldn’t suggest screwing that close to a box!
I am in a wheelchair. I hold most of what I do in my hands, as my legs are usually in the way if I use any kind of bench.
I'm not into bark carving yet but I am a old paraplegic. I'd create a short beam with a 2x4 off of a 4x4. I could roll under and mount it to that. I imagine it as a T on it's side bolted or screwed into the wall. Hope this helps others.
Right! If you can get it away from the wall with a long spacer it will be an ideal setup!
