  • After having my road bike since July last year and getting clothing sorted and further rides, I decided to try a different saddle as, the SR supplied with the Orbea is a bit of a plank.
I found great reviews of this saddle quite quickly and decided to do my own.

Thanks for the video. I just bought a Selle SMP Well S from Amazon and about to install and give it a go

SMP is definitely a unique saddle, how out of the saddles it is most likely to give you the ability to pass a balance test because of the long rails. Once I installed it on my road bike I felt more tall in the saddle and to drop the saddle height some. I was able to push the saddle back more to be able to do a balance test, I used a plumb line to find how just how far back I was behind the pedal spindle and to my surprise I was only an inch back. It takes a little tweaking here and there to get it right.

Thanks for all the detail! This is the saddle I'm looking at, and your review has helped my decision-making process quite a bit.

Have I got these padding levels right?
No padding - Carbon, Composit... the most expensive.
    Light padding - Evolution.
    Medium padding - Extra.
    Max padding - TRK.
I mean does the TRK have even more padding than the Extra? I already have a (copy) of the Evolution and while it has light padding, I just wanted the next level up, but I have already had a TRK in the past and it had too much padding.

Hello. Do you have the extra with gel? Are you happy with, after one year?

Hi, I'm not sure t has gel in? however, after so long and so many miles I can honestly say its still as comfy as ever, it would be my go to saddle.

You should level it on the two tops, not the way you did. Remember, the pressure is higher at the front of the sit, that is why it goes down and you should support it. I have used this for over 12 years.

Thanks Simon, I think you are right and I did adjust it that way a while ago, still the best saddle I have had i believe,

Simon what do you mean? The back incline level with the front "incline?"

No need to get hung up on marketing. Customers are stupid. Same thing as sugar having gluten free packaging.
The saddle does go flat. To start.
You should have measured saddle height before making the switch and moving the seatpost. You had to tilt up likely as you went too low

How has the saddle been working for you since this video? 🍻

Hi Darren, brilliant thanks, done over 1000 miles i guess now, I find it fits just right when you get on the bike in the right position. Never regretted getting this saddle.

@@steveh3483 cheers mate. Everyone seems to love them. Did you eventually sort out levelling it properly? I assume you had to drop your seat post a bit? I have a super expensive specialized power mirror saddle that still gives me a bit of bother so I'm still looking.

Yes, I had a creak earlier this summer, sorted with a bit of silicone spray in the support, but you are correct it needed lower and I also did level it properly, its worth a try, I feel so comfortable on it, its great how it just seems to fit where it needs to. But its also worth the time setting it up right.
