I will be showing you my two years growing hair journey and share all my secrets to gracefully grow out a buzz cut so that you do not have to bare you’re way out of this but enjoy every part of the growing out process. I love what you said at the end about dressing more bold and feminine with a buzzcut. I’ve noticed the same thing since I buzzed my hair! It’s so unique it’s like an accessory all on its own. I’ve gotten more compliments on my hair than ever, even when I’m just at the grocery store or at the airport wearing a t-shirt and sweatpants… the buzz matches any outfit. I only intended to buzz it once but I’ve done it 4-5 times now and I’m considering keeping it like this for a long time!

Your video was very interesting! Instead of buzz cutting damage off of my hair (because it wasn't real bad) I cropped my baseline blunt barely reaching my jawline. I regret it so much. My hair grows 1/2 an inch a month. Having to wait 2 years to get a bob length is excrutiating, just like you felt about your layers. So glad you didn't feel this way in your growing out journey. I didn't shave my head, but I had a very strong emotional crisis and I cut some pieces of hair that were damaged by the dye (it was very long). I went to the hairdresser to fix it and they gave me a mullet that I didn't like at all, and it was poorly done! The next day, I went to another hairdresser to fix it and I told him I didn't like the mullet but was afraid of losing length. And all he did was make the mullet even shorter! The only solution i found was to change the hairdresser and get a pixie bowl cut to eliminate all the layers. That was seven months ago and it still looks horrible and very short! I don't like it at all, and on top of that, I have wavy hair 😢
Now I hide in the street with a hood on my head and a hat because it is horrible and it grows very slowly ( I want to do a ponytail and i can not 😢)

Sry to hear you didn't like your haircut. It can definitely be frustrating growing out an unwanted haircut, been there. What I did when I didn't like my hair was find the best ways I could style my hair in a way that I still thought looked cute even though it wasn't my favourite. So I looked up a lot of ideas online and then started experimenting. But I understand how annoying It could be.
I shaved mine off last weekend and I kind of hate it. I don't know if I'm bold enough or brave enough to pull it off. I feel so ugly.
I understand it can be quite the change. However one thing is certain, you were bold and brave enough to shave off all of your hair which is a hard decision to make for the majority of women. So that already shows that you are absolutely bold and brave!! Now is a wonderful time to start exploring your own unique style and trying out new things that maybe you would not have tried with longer hair. You could also find inspiration on Pinterest for ideas that resonates and inspires you that was one of the first things I did when I buzzed of mine. Find your unique essence. You’re bold and beautiful. You can pull it off!! 👑💅🏼
And when he cut the back of your hair, what shape did he cut it in? Did he cut straight across or bevel the ends a bit?
He had cut it straight across kinda like in a straight line I would say. Without touching the top short pieces but only the back so it would not grow into a mullet. Which made it look back like a pixie however it was only the back that he had cut so my hair could transition into a bob overtime. And in this video that was would my hair looked like after him cutting it once. It grew into a cute little 90s style bob.

Yes the layers are certainly longer now, so because of the amount of layers I have, I style my hair very big and fluffy to make it more interesting. But I understand growing it out a bunch of layers can be frustrating at times for sure. So now I try to style my hair accordingly to the layers.

At what point is a short haircut not a pixie?
Well basically in my case I knew my hair was no longer a pixie when I no longer was able to style it as one which was by using a pomade and a comb. Its usually a subtle transitioning but in my case one day i noticed pretty much in a matter of two weeks I went from using my same pixie style routine technique which worked, to one day doing the exact same style routine to my hair however this time it no longer wanted to remain smooth on top of my head. It was starting to look very unruly and just off, I was no longer able to tame it instead of the usual smooth style pixie that I once had. From then on I had to go back to styling my hair as I would with longer hair. That's how I personally knew it had become a very short bob.

Nope that’s my own hair, the reddish stain on my hairline comes from my root touch up powder as I color my hair red.
