I'm working on fixing my pixie right now, and I decided to try a new stylist again. I'm used to the "show me a picture, and we're good." There's not really any communication other than that. I found this tiny little salon, blink and you miss it, and sat in this girls chair. I loved her right away, because the very first thing she started with was "tell me about your hair." We talked about the issues I was having, and I showed her a picture just to make sure I was being clear enough. She didn't even start until we were totally clear. I love her so much
Even with a picture, some stylists don't get anywhere close to it. My last cut from shoulder length hair ended up a pixie when she was done with it. I showed her a picture, holding it in front of her the entire time, and I said I don't want it short. Her first cut was at the top of my ear. I was so upset. That was at Great Clips in Pacific Beach, San Diego.
So sorry this happened to you. Very frustrating! I hope you find a good stylist who listens to you. A few years ago I learned now to trim my hair using Jayne Matthews' online tutorials. This was during COVID and I never thought I would be able to do it but with practice I now love being able to do it. I only get my hair cut professionally once a year and then keep it up myself the rest of the time. Thanks for watching.
That’s a bummer. I hope you find someone who cuts it how you want. In addition to the picture I also talk with them to describe what I do and don’t want.
Great tips about finding a hair stylist, communicating with your hair stylist, and growing out a pixie! Thank you both so much. Appreciate your channel! And love your hair and your energy :)
I wish more stylists took the time to ask questions and explain things to their clients before starting the haircut. I got a faux hawk pixie cut 9 weeks ago and she did not explain anything about side cuts or undercuts or what I could expect or anything. I was naive and didn't know to ask anything and my hair ended up way shorter than I'm comfortable with.
The Dress Up Mom You're so welcome! I enjoyee it. Thank you. I didn't get a pixie because I wanted short hair. I got it because I made the commitment to stop dyeing my hair for good and I wanted my silver to come in quicker. I'm enjoying my color transition, just not the length. I'm now six months dye-free and it's a beautiful journey.
I would suggest bringing several pictures of what you want and discussing them with your stylist. Also let him/her know that you're afraid of cutting off more than necessary. If they don't listen to you find someone who will. Life's too short!
I know and I'm sorry. This was a while ago and I've gotten better equipment and I'm better at editing now. It still happens sometimes though. Thanks for watching anyway.
She's now at Omnia Salon in Hillcrest and she's the best! We just did a new video on shags. It's here: th-cam.com/video/44B8WGLz6jM/w-d-xo.html Her new address and phone number are in the description. Thanks so much for watching. As you can imagine I highly recommend Christina!

Kyra Marie It makes all the difference in the world. I'm so glad you found this stylist. Thanks for sharing. And for watching.
FINALLY A HAIR STYLIST THAT DOES NOT CHOP INCHES OFF ❤

I ALWAYS TAKE A PICTURE AND THEY NEVER DO IT LIKE THE PICTURE

@@TheDressUpMom yeah I WILL try and explain my self. I'm growing out a pixie 😆

I’m growing mine out from bald and I wanted to wait till the one year mark before I trim it to see the growth. ❤️
That must be very rewarding!
A very articulate hairdresser
hair dresser yes she is! I love her

Kat James before going to Christina I had that happen and I know it's an awful feeling. Hopefully it grows out soon. Thanks for watching.

Thank you so much for watching. I'm getting ready to film another hair episode with Cristina.
I like it! And her :)
Thank you!
Great video, nice seeing you caped and getting a cute haircut
I wish she was closer to me 😪 I'm in Los Angeles!! Loved her
Deena Bardin She really is a great stylist and person.
I need this hairstylist to have a TH-cam channel
I agree! She's very funny too. I will let her know and encourage her to do it. I have several other videos with her too. Thanks for watching.
I want to chop the ends of my hair but my stylist enjoys to much cutting my hair 😂 so I’m afraid that she’s going to cut more than the necessary

I loved this video. I did have trouble with the sound. The talking was often very quite and then the transition music quite loud.

Thanks for watching
She gave you good styles along the way? I guess, if you like the mullet look.
She's in Encinitas?? I'm in San Diego! What's the address!?
