I adore classics, and this collection had me drooling. We love an academic and intellectual gal! Your beat-up and annotated copy of The Odyssey just makes it that much more unique and special!
I love Dracula! It's great and imo it's a good idea to read before Interview with the Vampire, so you can compare the different vampire types. My fav editions are PELs and vintage red spine/children's classics.
I really liked Pride and Prejudice as well as Frankenstein, Jane Eyre, A Christmas Carol and The Illiad. I'm yet to read Les Miserables and Edgar Allen Poe but they are on my list. This is a fantastic classics collection Ashleigh!. There are still so many I haven't read. 😎📚
The Great Writers Library edition of Pride and Prejudice would have originally come with a magazine subscription in the 80's/90's. You'd get a literature classic with each magazine, either weekly or monthly. It was basically a cheaper way of collecting the classics. Mum has 52 of them, so they're the classic editions I grew up with :)
That Frankenstein, bright yellow edges, blinding! What a strange choice indeed! 😂 And that edition of Rebecca...😍😍😍. And I've always eyed those cloth bound Austens. I reread her so often I need sturdy.
Very nice - I hope you're able to hang on to them a long time, and if not then I hope you find good homes for them - thx for the video and Happy Holidays.
I’m collecting the cloth bound classics and my husband has a big collection of the red spine classics. I have however also fallen in love with the beautiful vintage classics that are smaller than standard and have the french flaps and there is an Austen collection, a Brontes collection and a Russians collection all on my amazon wish list now!
Oh also looking at getting a puffin classics collection started for my daughter. They have an english library style collection that I think might be good.
Your edition of Dr Jekill and Mr Hyde is an Alma classics edition ! I love their covers, ive been buying all of the classics that i read in these editions and they are gorgeous and make a beautiful rainbow shelf !
What a stunning collection!! I am getting into Oxford after only ever really liking the Penguin black spines but I agree that Oxford has such great translations of ancient works.
Omygosh! You have quite the classics collection! 🖤🖤🖤 This video made me feel like I need to get to a lot of the collections that I have. Goals for 2021. :)
I read Hard Times in High School and it was so boring for me. But I do love Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice. I am in the middle of Emma and not the biggest fan out it. I am going to try and read Dracula soon. I also trying to read The Turn of the Screw.
Funnily enough I find the Illiad and Odyssey easier to read in poetry form, the same with all the ancient Classics. Reading them in prose would put me off.
The editing in this. If I was making a tier ranking video of booktube videos with editing style, this would go in Obsessed

Why 'Jane Eyre' is your favourite classic? This book is sooooo problematic... I recommend you so much reading 'Wide Sargasso Sea'
Pretty much every classic to exist is problematic, they’re a product of their time. I’ve read Wide Sargasso Sea
That's your opinion.
Amazing collection
