    Always love your videos. I hadn't realised I repeat myself.... I hadn't realised I repeat myself, obviously star struck... As for night riding, it was essential when I was a student and worked at Gordano services, first on my little moped and later other bikes. Last long night ride was back from Scotland, before that it was home from Newhaven after I'd been to France, right past Stone Henge at around midnight.... very cool.

      Awesome, thanks for stopping to say Hi 👋 I have no issues riding at night, in fact I would say it’s very enjoyable, it’s a whole another element to riding that will develop more skills and confidence. We do try to avoid it when travelling but only because we don’t want to miss seeing what we are passing by…

    A nice place to have a coffee... Union Road Moto Velo looks cozy over there. The toasted cheese and tomato sandwich that you had looks a bit on the thin side like they skipped on the cheese... Thanks for showing the Honda dealer also to us...

    I’m constantly amazed at how superstitiously night (and rain) riding is treated by so many riders. I fully acknowledge and understand the risk of animal strike (and drunk drivers), having come as close as a deer grazing my left side case (during daylight); hence, I usually ride relatively slowly when sight distance is reduced. There are so many “vineyards” in the countryside by me that probably at least half of all drivers are under the influence of alcohol day and night, with a fair number other under the obvious influence of weed-no escaping it. And when a fast-moving car or semi-truck comes along at night, I let it pass and hang on close behind to help increase the odds of clearing the way. Sure, there’s risk at night and following, but riding is all calculated and relative risk anyway. As long as my vision, coordination, and reflexes remain functional at a high level, I will continue to enjoy riding at night. I find it very enjoyable since there is typically much less traffic, as well as experiencing how amazing things can look, for example, under strong moonlight. Nothing like a roadside break out in the middle of west Texas, for example, at night to remind one of one’s insignificance in the universe and to marvel at the stars in crushing silence. If I only rode during the day (and on the dry and in the warm), I wouldn’t be riding much.

    • @ontheroadadventure
      @ontheroadadventure  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s all about risk management and adaptation to your riding conditions. A great comment, hopefully more people will see it this way?
