The Alfred Chicken voicemail sounds like a serial killer that Batman would be hunting down
A Riddler copycat?
It honestly sounds like the recordings of real like serial killer "the weepy voice killer" who cried down the phone reporting his own murders.
It's like... Oddly close to it. Kinda creepy.
"Watch out for the mousies!"
Sounds like a serial killer
Sounds like someone at the office was asked to do it before going home.
Imagine placing dead last and knowing a cartoon chicken got more votes than you. I'd quit right then and there.
I thought the same thing, how it must feel to be the guy who got less votes than a fictional character. Especially one nobody had heard of (at least not widespread)
I don't know if I'd laugh or quit life
Oh man... Now I'm thinking about that Black Mirror episode.....
I made sure to look for this comment so i wouldn't get Ninja'ed. You win this time... Master X, lol.
I would have voted for the chicken. Then again, I'm a big fan of Boaty McBoatface.
Dylan: *fuckinng dies*
Jared: Thank you Dylan 😊
And then I fucking died too.
Turned dark pretty quickly 😅
You gotta thank the man for his service. Also how many other cops died and the survivor just goes straight for mackers.
I'm not sure what I liked more about that ending: the sudden surprise shift in the tone, the fact that Dennis is now a confirmed sociopath, or the cheery "Thank you Dylan!" at the end by Jared after that long silence. 😆
After so many decades, he is finally a confirmed menace.
The thank you absolutely gutted me, I, too have died. Now I can high five Dylan in the afterlife!
Dennis the Menace 2 Society
For me, it's the thank you dylan
"That kid is going to be the death of me." Mr.Willson
The Dennis the Menace skit was hilarious. 1.99 happy meals LMAO 🤣
Thank you Dylan! - Projared 2024.
I started watching this show for Jared, but stayed for Dylan. Such an amazing combo these guys are.
After listening to that Alfred Chicken voicemail, the only word that came to mind was "......what?"
THE WATERING CANS.
I feel bad for the guy that was paid minimum wage to do it all in one take
12:30 Editor Dylan needs a pay raise.
Plus, Jared's deadpan delivery at the end of that sequence is just great lol.
Holy shit I already love editor Dylan's section, but with the skits it hits just right.
I was fully expecting the police to shout _"STEP AWAY FROM THE SLINGSHOT."_ at the end, for some reason.
That's a deadly weapon
I hate to say that I called the Alfred Chicken number more times than I care to admit. For the heck of it, after watching the episode I tried the number to see what it is now. The number now goes to a law firm.
Now go call Jessica Rabbit or Wally Bear.
@@AndSaveAsManyAsYouCan Done. Jessica Rabbit's number goes to something called Association Of Modern American Health and the Wally Bear number seemed to go to some medical center. There was no calling ID for Wally's number.
@@valhawkSo much for my fun. AVGN got different results. That was quite a while ago, though. Sorry for wasting your time.
@@AndSaveAsManyAsYouCan Don't be sorry. I feel bad that I ruined it for you, I was honestly curious myself but didn't think about it till you brought it up.
The Alfred Chicken voicemail reminds me of the incredible experience of calling 1-800-I-FEEL-OK as part of the OK Soda ad campaign.
Y'all remember OK Soda?
No?
OK ( ._.)
I called that number all the time! Loved ok soda. 🙂
if they never did a commercial parody on the song 'Oklahoma' then they dropped a huge ball (or couldn't afford the rights)
What does calling Jessica Rabbit remind you of?
I feel validated hearing you'll never move the cursor fast enough in T2. That game was not afraid to put two targets shooting at you on opposite sides of the screen
I heard that if you destroyed every object at Cyberdyne, you would get an alternate ending. I spent so much time attempting it but failing.
@@BM-wh5qk
The truck at the beginning, Cyberdyne, The Helicopter chase, and protecting John at the Steel Mill were insane.
First arcade I played that had a "there's no insert coin for more health to beat this part, beat it right or start at the beginning of the segment"
Cheers Editor Dylan, I know you won't be taken down that easily
3:06 The Ring reference
2:37 Herbert the Pervert from Family Guy
12:43 $1.99 Happy meals
Editor Dylon definitely has the best highlight in this episode. Games that have already been covered and a twisted of events of him against Dennis The Menace.
Dang, we are really going on 2 years already? Time really flies but it is really nice to see that the channel keeps growing. Great content keep it up guys!
The SNES version of Ninja Warriors is also available on Nintendo Switch Online.
I had the Super Scope and would carry it in the box to my friends house while riding my bike. Had a blast playing T2 especially since he had the mouse from Mario Paint. Fun times.
I rented Ninja Warriors between 10-15 times in the 90s, and was the game I thought of when I saw your channel the first time. Glad I subscribed to eventually see your coverage of it, didn't even know it had a remake! Hope that Editor Dylan has a speedy recovery from that menace.
Just got off of work, this is how I start my weekend and it’s something I look forward to every Friday
Dennis looking like a mini Robert Patrick right there. And has the same killer instinct too. Gonna remember that slingshot.
Get well soon, Dylan!! That damn kid really IS a menace.
...that got real in the end there 🤣
Turn and Burn for the SNES is a badass game. Feels great and was always something I was down to rent. Landing on the aircraft carriers is straightforward and streamlined.
The 3DO version of Night Trap had:
+ Increased color palate
+ Higher resolution
- Lower frame rate (12 vs Sega CD's 15)
How insane is it that the "Alfred Chicken" Phone number Recording still exists... but the phone message from the NES Roger Rabbit game is lost media "Well, far as i know.. it was last time i looked for it" and Roger Rabbit was HUUUUUUUUGE! this is the first time ive ever heard of Alfred Chicken lol
I used to have a demo of Alfred Chicken for the PS1. I swear I thought it was like a fever dream.
My friends and I called the Alfred Chicken number a lot from the payphone in the cafeteria, and I remember it sounding a lot different than that, but I guess it has been 30 years.
Dylan?
DYLAN!?
DYLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNN
Metal Gear Solid reference
*GAME OVER*
Love Ninja Warriors! I actually picked up the Switch re-release (that has coop!) while in Taiwan for my Engagement Party back in 2019 before it released in North America. Ended up taking a 16 hour flight back home & immediately called a friend who I went over to their place & started playing it with them as soon as I landed.
That's a memory for the ages, nothing like not sleeping on a flight to immediately play a game that hasn't released in your home country yet.
I think the only thing more baffling than Alfred Chicken being ran for parliament is the fact that it was only in second to last place. Someone did worse than him!
I seriously want to know who placed lower than a fictional chicken.
@@DivaFan319 it was John Walley of the Rainbow Alliance

"Next week was light on releases so we'll be taking off"
Nahhh you're taking off so you can revive Dylan!
that Dennis bit at the end was fucking great. i love the abrupt return to the show like nothing happened.
I remember alfred chicken on NES the music made me wanna throw my controller at the tv lol
My family loved Alfred Chicken when we were young. It's awesome to hear more about its history. No one talks about Alfred Chicken. 😅
Just realized it was neither February 16th nor 1994 when Jared recorded this
I just want to believe that Dylan just added that Dennis the menace bit last second, so Jared didn't even know Dylan got shot right before handing the video over to him. His thank you, Dylan, was just so normal after the bit.
Fantastic work
I always love watching this show every Friday
Haha Alfred chicken. That's a flash from the past. Never played the game but I called the 1800 number from payphones all the time. Time killer when I was stoned
I think I enjoy what Jared does with his hands when he says “and that was now…in the 90s” more than anything. Literal goosebumps 😂
It blew my mind to realise that you guys have been doing this show for over two years. I’ve a loyal watcher eversince the first episode aired. You brighten my day!
I swear, Jared has some sort of supernatural ability to find the most fantastic editors. Between Ms. Editor and Vlad previously on the gameplay channel, and now Dylan on this channel, we've been absolutely spoiled.
Given some of the expectations he pointed out when considering getting a new editor for the gameplay channel, I suspect part of it is that he has very high standards for who he hires.
@@gurvmlk oh for sure. And I don't blame him, honestly. His sense of humor just really shines when he has a good editor there to play off of, where a standard editor that doesn't add all the flair that his editors have just wouldn't be the same.
Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy his gameplay stuff with his basic edit jobs well enough, but I definitely miss Vlad's work at times. But getting Dylan on these videos has at least filled in that gap somewhat, especially as his personality has been able to shine through more as time has gone on.
@@R0D3R1CKV10L3NC3 He also probably wants to make sure he's making a solid net positive from having the editor on board. As opposed to some content creators who probably care more about making their own job easier, rather than the quality that comes with that convenience. At least to me, Jared gives off the impression that he takes his job seriously.
Although personally, I was never a huge fan of Vlad. But he had his moments, and I could see the appeal that others saw in him even if his style didn't connect with me. I was also one of the people in the comments sections of the D&D game who were insisting on keeping Wizard Vlad around after that series.
All that said, here's hoping that someday, the gameplay channel will once again bless us with somebody as amazing as either Ms. Editor, or Vlad.
@@gurvmlk yeah, I do hope the stars align and he gets in a position where he's able to have an editor on that channel again, even if I know that's unlikely unless there's a massive shift in the algorithm (or viewer watching habits) or something that suddenly makes that channel take off and start making more decent money.
@@R0D3R1CKV10L3NC3 Either way, I'll keep watching. I'm there for Jared, after all. Having a good editor is just a bonus.
Dylan? A-are you okay?
Dylan???
*DYLAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!*
_(MGS Game Over theme)_
Any other channel would cut to that one Dennis clip from 'The Critic' Now 90s instead animates a whole sequence themselves!
I have been trying for AGES to find out what the background music in this show is called. I sometimes hear it in other shows too.
Dat 1-800 Alfred Chicken message. xD
i wasn't expecting a ring reference , but now im imagining the ending of the ring with alfred chicken replacing samara.
12:52 "Thank you, Dylan." 😂
Dylan, your bits are amazing.
That was a nice episode. Have a nice week off next Friday.
Aww man! T2 The Arcade Game on consoles was rad to the max! Never played the actual arcade version though. At 8 years old I'd co-op with my 5 year old cousin, start it up knowing we were always going to game over on the T-1000 at the end, we still jumped back in every weekend!
The Alfred Chicken hotline had strong Krabby the Clown vibes
T2 in an actual arcade is the game I played the most. I could get to the T-1000 in the Steel Mill without continuing once. Never could beat him though.
"We'll be back after next week."
WE? R.I.P. Editor Dylan.
That poor poor person that had to record that voice message.
You can actually hear his soul dying about halfway through. Especially the part about the watering cans.
If I were to invision a cartoon chicken and Jared molded together....I'd prbly come to the same style
Was that Julia Child as the voice of Alfred Chicken?
"Then you bring the watering can to a roiling boil!"
OMG, Dylan you have outdone yourself!
It’s not a real Friday until I hear the editor Dylan song
I'm sorry for Dylan ...LOL, don't mess with Dennis!
Editor Dylan fixing all of Jareds script mistakes had my sides in orbit. Great episode as always! TGIF in the 90's fam.
I mean, that chicken wouldn't have been a worse politician than most politicians.
my buddy had T2 for the Genesis and we used to blast through it all the time...because we were kids and shooting robots was dope...and now I believe Ive found my next SNES purchase
Taking a week off to let Editor Dylan recover from the Dennis the Menace incident.
Every time I see Alfred Chicken all I can think of is The Simpsons Halloween episode where they did They Raven and Bart was the bird!
Man, it is wild to think that this series has been going on for 2 years. I'm admittedly curious if there are any plans to cover 1990 and 1991.
Mannnn we had Alfred Chicken and all I remember was it being incredibly hard.
I need to play Ninja Saviours now. Definitely gonna put it in memory, and to play that classic beat em up.
Hopefully the week off will give enough time for Dylan to recover.
Curious about his avatar, I think this is the first time we saw it in motion. Is the avatar still just a crude person or is he actually some sort of amorphous entity?
Is that some deep lore starting to form? I am here for it. Let the theories begin!
I've played the Genesis and SNES versions of T2 The Arcade Game but since I got it working on MAME it's hard to go back to those.
Oh man I played the hell out of ninja warriors! Thanks for the nostalgia
"It's nearly impossible to play with the D pad though" That's the only way that I played T2. Me and a buddy beat the Sega version using controllers and it was the biggest pain the ass.
I paused the video at the 9:00 mark and wondered why a code for 911 Operator was put in the video. Now I have to live with that knowledge.
HAHAHAHAHA gotta love Dylan, Jared's "thank you Dylan" was perfect 🤣
The fact that Editor Dylan has evolving lore will never not be funny to me.
Not to be confused with famed Pizza Tower guest Mort The Chicken.
Lot of chicken mascots in the 90's.
That phone promotion only brings to mind one thing. That old guy from Family Guy. "Hey kids, get the watering cans! The watering cans, kids! They're in my basement, that's a clue, kids, the watering cans in my basement. I'm coming soon! I'm coming real soon, kids!"
Jared had fun mocking those who mocked him in the thumbnail.
What do you mean?
Heck yeah, Ninja Warriors! It's way cooler than the original Arcade game I'd say. More people should play it.
I was 9 yrs old during that time frame
This series should be on a TV channel
It seemed like T2 The Arcade game was everywhere. They even had a cab at my mom's work and I remember I would play the crap outta the game however I never beat it, never even got close.
What just happened?
Dylan?
Dylan????
DYLAN!!
dYlAn!!??!!....
....sure he's fine
Yay, we found out LOZ2 Link's side hustle XD
Alfred Chicken for NES is actually pretty good.
I used to rent Ninja Warrior a lot when i was a kid, never manage to get really far in my memories but I did like the design and arts.
I love Turn and Burn. It was also my gateway to the Ace Combat series.
Dylan knows what’s up with the Genesis Mini 2 missing out on Snatcher. That would have been a dream come true among a handful of other Sega CD games the Japanese counterpart got.
I also remember not understanding how to play Turn N Burn on the Game Boy. Boy, that SNES sequel looks real enticing.
And the Turbo Graphx 16 mini gets Snatcher, but it's not in English.
Right? And the price of the actual game isn't going to get any cheaper if you want it from eBay sellers.
Any time I see Ninja Warriors, I think of HappyConsoleGamer. 😅
Fair enough. I think of the former HVGN. Loved that show, Derek is awesome.
11:43 - 12:53 Boy. That escalated quickly...I mean that really got out of hand fast.
Dennis the Menace 2 Society!
Your uploads are such a highlight to my week!❤❤❤
Alfred Chicken, Mort the Chicken... We need more games that feature a chicken as the main character. lol
... now you have 7 days to live ...
Oooh... well, at least I might be able to catch next week's episod-
... we're taking next week off.
Dammit!
Between the chicken message and Dennis the Menace, this is the darkest episode of Now in the 90's so far.
When I was a kid, I used to call the OK Soda phone line multiple times a week.
Was turn and burn two player coop? I distinctly remember playing a coop flight sim with my dad as a kid where you had to take off and land on an air craft carrier for every mission. I remember completing missions only to crash the plane trying to land and having to start the entire mission all over. For the coop game play one player piloted while the other IIRC was a rear gunner.
That Editor Dylan section went full Dennis the Menace 2 Society.
278 days until Donkey Kong Country...
And thank you, Dylan.
6:02 woah forgotten memory unlocked
