In survival, you need to follow the PLAN. Protection (shelter, fire), Location (set out beacons for rescue, etc), Acquisition (Food, Water, Resources), and Navigation (Action to escape).

In this instance some ppl were very rapidly to judge without offering advice . At least there was a couple in there that took him under their wing to teach him how to develop new skills , young adults do also have a tendency to overdramatise situations and blow things out of proportion, as Ryan did multiple times through these episodes. There were several lazy people in this , dean did very little , Craig was just as useless , and the ex-copper didn’t do much ….he waffled a good job but rarely backed it up with actions ….he did sleep a lot between rants!.
