Fabulous!!!!! I wish I could give this a thousand thumbs up. I've watched almost all of these (I plan to watch all) and this one was great. It had drama, comedy, intrigue and wonderful writing. And the acting was superlative....all of them....especially Harry Crocker!!! Outstanding.
I love how Sherlock spent the entire episode being fascinated by tricks. Little concern was shown to the actual murder. And despite everyone doubting him, telling him to stay out of it, even when he solved the case and proved them wrong his attention was elsewhere. Lestrade didn’t even get the chance to apologise. Just had to walk out as Holmes and Watson toyed with the suitcase... box... thing.
Ya, that’s because he had already assessed things and was far ahead of everyone else, so his attention could be on learning. The most intelligent people are always focused on learning something new (and keeping what they’ve found to themselves during an investigation). He liked to antagonize Lestrade and keep him guessing by appearing to ignore his concerns. Easy to toy with people that way, helps in sizing them up, too. Let people think you’re not paying any attention at all.

In the movie you refer to Michael Caine plays an alcoholic actor by the name of Reginald Kincaid, hired by Dr. Watson (who is the real detective) to play the role of Sherlock Holmes. I own the VHS copy - Without a Clue - 1988. Yes, it is funny.
Thank you for your work to give us an index. We all love the character.. Holmes would be harder to play than Hamlet. Reading creates our own perceptions. Movies impose them. We can take it all so seriously, & that's why that Micheal Cain movie (where Dr. Watson = the brains behind it all) is so funny. Who is the best? You have given us many to think about. Thanks again.
In the 1971 film, They Might Be Giants George C. Scott plays a judge who after the death of his wife, retreats into a fantasy world where he believes he is Sherlock Holmes. His brother seeking power of attorney commits him to a mental institution where he attracts the attention of a psychiatrist by the name of Dr. Mildred Watson, played by Joanne Woodward. It was also the film debut of F. Murray Abraham in a minor role.
One little thing is they didn’t have him glance at her clothes at the morgue long enough to see the labels and notice they were all from Manchester shops, not one label was showing. Maybe they had a shot with him doing that briefly, even for a few seconds, but edited it out. And Watson didn’t actually push his hands away in the demo, he just restrained his forearms...little details like that here and there, but these are fun episodes, I like Ronald Howard as Sherlock, he was playful with the role. All in all, it was definitely Eugene Deckers’ best Sherlock episode. He’s quite a character, and it seems like he was probably great fun to be around, and this is one of the best episodes of the entire series. They must have liked him, they kept bringing him back. Thanks for the upload:)
It's a shame Paul Durand's melancolic theme music has been replaced by that jangle of piano. Viewers can hear Durand's original score on other versions here on TH-cam.
Poor Dr Watson, he wants to see all of the girls that he is able to see, but he can not because he is a gentleman, so he just sneaks a look 👀 out of the corner of his eyes 👀 😮
Just fascinating and funny and totally not guilty of murder, just good at escaping out of various types of situations, good show amusing, you do not see that too often with sherlock holmes🤔😀😁☺🙂🙄😏😌
sherlock and watson said they check her makeup , But they didn't say any thing about the girls makeup , When they were checking her over And they said they did checked .
This series was limited financially but still does a great job of story telling, anything Sherlock is on my radar.
This is my favorite Sherlock Holmes episode of this incarnation of Sherlock ... the 30 minute cases!
Harry "Houdini" Crocker is great!👏👏
🦂🥂
I love Ronald Howard as Sherlock Holmes and H.Marion Crawford as Dr. John Watson.... Perfect duo
Aishabandri i could not agree with u more 😅
me too. His father was a perfect Scarlet Pimpernel too,

Absolutely brilliant! My favorite so far. Holmes is almost like a child in his glee.
My Favorite Episode! Harry Crocker Is A Hoot!
One of the best of this great French/ British series. I love Harry, they used the actor in many episodes

Energin hos Sherlock är enastående👏👏
this man playing houdini annoying inspector is the best comedy on this show 🤣
Astonishing ! at 20:00 or about, the subtitles show Harry Potter, instead of Harry Crocker !

Oh, there was a music change? That sucks! I didn't know that and I'm generally a stickler for such details! Thanks for the tip 👍
Poor Dr Watson, he wants to see all of the girls that he is able to see, but he can not because he is a gentleman, so he just sneaks a look 👀 out of the corner of his eyes 👀 😮
That KS good show gratitude from Philippines
このホームズとワトソンのコンビは最高です。
I love this one because the man is not the killer but a very good escape artist too funny but does lead them to whom it really was🤔🤔🤔🤔😁😃!!!?

This Sherlock looks like my GrNdpa Lyle. I adore him.
Good old shows
It is more like Drama than Sherlock Holmes
(1954) How? This may have been shown as a series in 1954 but actually it's closer to (1936) please check the original date.
You could be right! There's no year mentioned on the actual episode. And, to be honest, I've just been relying on Wikipedia for the information.
Has to be 1954 because Harry Towb the Belfast actor plays Willis. Towb was born in 1925. Case closed.
What kind of accent does Harry have?
My name is not Dell but Bernard and I think the same actor was in the Christmas pudding and Harry Crocker is very good
sherlock and watson said they check her makeup , But they didn't say any thing about the girls makeup , When they were checking her over And they said they did checked .
