    Truck: 2020 Mack LR640 Labrie Automizer 60/40 Split 37yd
    Please note*
    You may notice material sneaking under the divider panel. This was brought to my attention in a previous video and has been reported to our maintenance. Unfortunately it seems as it was a piece of steel that broke when the divider panel broke off a few months ago. I am in the process of getting that ordered and fixed. So please keep your comments to yourself regarding stuff falling through this crack.

    cool. Depending on the run you should get a video where recycling is on the left compartment and garbage is on the right compartment.

      There is a video of that in an earlier version. It's unlikely to happen again as it doesn't work very well doing it like thst.

    I love machines. I always thought it was a waste of for us to seperate the trash and recycling if they threw it in 1 truck. We just got a single truck system in our area so i looked up this type video.

      It's a good system if everyone does things the right way.

    it is so sad how much recycling stuff leaks / slips thru to the trash side, at times. is this a design problem or a maintenance problem? that gap under the flip flop panel seems way to big. seems like there should be some type of heavy rubber flap at that point to keep items on the side there where dumped into. at one point even heave folded down cardboard boxes slipped thru that gap to the trash side. hope the manufacture of the truck sees these vids and this problem.

      In this case it's a maintenance problem. it broke off a few years ago and maintenance just doesn't see a priority in fixing it.
      it would also be a manufactor issue.. because that piece of metal was easily snapped off... so yea

    Do you get much cross contamination from rubbish into recycling with this kind of 60/40 split truck? Can see the opposite happening where recycling falls into the rubbish side at 2:10 3:02 for example with bottles and cans.

    • @NashobaTrashTrucks
      @NashobaTrashTrucks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The contamination would be 10x worse if the chambers were reversed, ie, putting the recycling in the 40% side. This truck also has a broken divider panel which allows cross contamination through the bottom of the chute. But as for trash going into recycling, that isn't really an issue unless trash bins are dumped directly into the recycling (which does happen sometimes)

      @@NashobaTrashTrucks They need to fix that. But its probably not a priority.

    • @NashobaTrashTrucks
      @NashobaTrashTrucks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually Recycle due to it not being able to be compacted under load. can usually get 3 tons

    Concept is there, but it doesn't work very well, surely be cheaper yo run one truck on landfill waste and one of recycling

    What countries is the recycling exported to because China stopped taking waste in 2017

    • @NashobaTrashTrucks
      @NashobaTrashTrucks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      China did not stop taking waste. They rolled out stricter regulations which made it harder to export. But they still send crap to China.

    What other countries than China is recycling shipped to from EL Harvey and Sons if it is shipped to any other countries

    • @NashobaTrashTrucks
      @NashobaTrashTrucks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Harvey's No longer exists, the company that owns it now is a major national company and they move a lot more material within the states as they have access to tons of landfills and more complex MRFs
      Last I checked, and it was quite a few months ago, **MOST** of our cardboard bales goes to Canada, China, Vietnam.
      Paper gets baled and usually goes to local Paper Manufacturers
      Plastic bottles get baled and usually go to plastic shredders, who then remanufacture them into something else, the rest is either trashed or melted.
      Glass gets crushed and sent to a concrete plant in state to get mixed with asphalt & blacktop (glass is no longer recyclable unless clean and unbroken)
      Aluminium can get baled and sold to highest bidder, usually scrap companies buy it and melt it down to whatever they need. I've heard of a Massachusetts local company that melts them down to make street signs
      Depending on what kind of trash (i have no idea how they decide this)
      It will either be baled and trucked to Virginia, NY or Canada. Usually for Waste to Energy plants. You can usually see those trucks on the highway, they are flatbed 18wheelers with large black bag wrapped bales. Or it is loaded into a 100yd walking floor trailer and sent to various landfills.
