A Day in the Life Firefighter

This is a Day in the Life as a Firefighter with Unified Fire Authority.
It’s hard to put a video together of our typical day. In the fire service the only thing that is consistent is that every day is different. With the different types of calls we go on, we have to be prepared for anything.
Firefighter Dylan DeVoogd does a great job showcasing the typical structure of our day. However, some days you might have to skip that workout because of the back to back calls. Our shifts at UFA are 48 hours long which means we truly do live in these stations 1/3 of our time. Our crews become an extension of our families. We eat together, work through trials together and celebrate our accomplishments together. Being a firefighter offers a meaning that is difficult to convey. There is so much that happens in a day in the life.
