Step by step:
1. Download .vdi file and unzip it
2. Open Oracle VirtualBox
3. create new machine with expert mode.
4. SPECIFIC CONFIGURATION:
Type Linux and version Linux 2.6 / 3.x / 4.x (64-bit).
Use an existing virtual hard disk file.
Enable EFI.
Choose Bridged Adapter for network.
Audio choose Intel HD Audio.
2 GB RAM.
2vCPU.
5. use the IP address to access the Home assistant xx.xx.xx.xx:8123
