Season 8, Episode 5, "COG Blocked": Lassiter is determined to be appointed Chief of Police, so he sets out to prove himself worthy of the job by solving the murder of the Mayor’s beloved uncle, Archie Baxter, who was killed back in the 60s but the case was never solved. Meanwhile, Juliet receives some news that tests her relationship with Shawn.

Psych Synopsis: "PSYCH" is a quick-witted dramedy about a young police consultant Shawn Spencer (James Roday, “The Dukes of Hazzard”) who solves crimes with powers of observation so acute that he’s convinced Santa Barbara PD detectives into thinking he's psychic. Raised in Santa Barbara by a family of cops, Shawn possesses uncanny powers of observation honed by his police officer father, Henry, who drilled young Shawn to note even the smallest of details from his surroundings as a way of grooming him for his inevitable career in the family business. With the reluctant assistance of his best friend Gus, Shawn uses his skills of observation and charismatic personality to become the detective he was trained to be, opening his own PI agency - Psych - and solving cases for an ever-suspicious, but grudgingly impressed, police force.

If anyone noticed, Lassiter is saying “the guy didn’t have a cat” this is a reference to the season 1 episode “Nine Lives” where a man was forced to take pills and the only witness is his pet cat.

Love that they finally brought back Shawn’s motorcycle that we rarely ever saw. Definitely explains why it’s broken.🤣
But remember this is “Psych” though. You have to know they’re not telling the truth, when Shawn was in the Spelling Bee episode he did ride his bike and was injured.

I love this episode but it was kind of weird how similar Gus and John Russell were lol and poor Gus I think the whole experience really made him think about his own life.

The show Monk did this as well , Monk's new assistants daughters name was targeted . The assistant steals the Captains car and wrecks it . Next you see her daughter doing her drivers exam and then her mom and the police show up to get her . She starts screaming ," I'm using my mirror , see I'm using my mirror ." Natalie's daughter .

Genuine question: Can someone like Gus really afford an apartment as good as this one?
Pharma reps can make some good money selling pills. It's a big industry in the US. Only thing that beats it is supplements which are sold by the same companies but have less federal regulations so they can sell stuff that is bad for you/does nothing.
@@ab7483 Yeah, but in one episode, if I remember correctly, he said he was making something like 60k a year, I don't think you could afford that apartment with that kind of money. Once again, I don't know much about the rent situation in Santa Barbara, so it could be.

If it was in, say, one of the less nice parts of Goleta or the unincorporated lands circa 2005, then yeah at 60k a year you could afford an apartment like that but you'd have been spending rather a lot of your take-home pay on rent.
