    In this video Mark talks about the Korua Shapes Otto snowboard. The Otto is a freestyle-focused carving shape with a slightly softer flex and torsion than the rest of their shapes These qualities make it a playful board ideal for carving in and out of side-hits and in between park features. Offering the most tail in their classic line, this board is loaded with pop, and its lack of taper and a smaller setback allows for easy switch landings. Combined with the classic KORUA float camber and radius makes it a great all- mountain shape and a perfect fit for riders who want to focus on their turns without sacrificing freestyle performance. This board is a quiver of one and a great choice for your next daily driver.

    After watching review , I bought an Otto only to discover it was made in China. Being a long time rider I was alarmed to say the least. I then went to return the snowboard which they make you pay for shipping to do. It cost me 100 dollars to ship it back , which they would not refund me for. All in all be wary of “reviews” and this show should highlight where they are made so we have a full picture.

      These board were all made at the Original Factory in Poland up until the War in the Ukraine caused some issues and they switched to a Factory in China - this all happened 2 years after we recorded this review. Also please note this board was not purchased through our web store and any policy you encountered have nothing to do with our company! We currently have Korua's made in Poland ( managed to grab extra before the switch) and always give our customer the option of either.

    Great reviews & fantastic riding! Really great to see reviews intercut with you riding the board. What bindings do you recommend for this stick? Would you go Medium, Medium-Stiff, or Stiff?

    • @markfawcett8142
      @markfawcett8142 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely personal preference to a certain degree. As wider waist width boards become more the norm , really soft bindings will probably not have the power and reaction you are looking for to make this board perform. Anywhere from Med - Stiff will work just fine. If you have ankles like a horse , i'm sure you could make the softer bindings work. Boot stiffness also playing a part in this too.

      Although I have not ridden the Plus version, I can say with confidence it is definitely lighter, and has a spec more "kick", "Pop" or "snappiness" due to the carbon within the construction. If thats what you are looking for, then plus is the way to go. If you are riding and carving groomers mostly, the original will likely be a better bet.

    Otto or mega merc for the DEEP STUFF?? I LOVE this board. I’m going to Japan in less than two weeks, I’m bringing the Korua Dart and I haven’t decided on the Mega Merc or the Otto for board number two. We’ll be in Otaru with a guide and then a few days in Niseko. I guess it depends on what riding I will prefer. Soft and playful (Otto) while maintaining float in Pow or hard charging (Mega Merc) which also says it’s good in pow. I’d love to see how they both perform but I can only bring two boards……

So, I'm thinking about trying a Korua but I'm lost about what model should I go. Once I'm not carver proficient I would like to go to a model that helps me progressing. Need something that is accessible cos I just ride 15 or 20 days per season. What model would you recommend. Should I go to an Otto, Transition Finder, Pencil or Dart? (considering that my main issue is holding the tail in heel side carving). I'm 55 years old, 5'9" and 170pounds and ride with backfoot angle = 0º. Any advice would be really appreciated. Cheers.

    Hey can I throw a couple quick Korua sizing question at you guys? First do Koruas generally turn easier than you would expect from their width? (I am between the 157 and 161 sizes, but I noticed that the jump up to the 161 is substantial, 168 waist width. I want this board mainly as a DD for carving, and I think I’d prefer the stability at speed of the 161, IF the core profiling makes them easier to turn.) The thing is, should I factor in all of that extra camber and size down, since most of the time this would be on “regular” snow at Mammoth, ie not powder days? Thanks in advance!
