    I've been watching your channel for a couple years. Your tying instruction has helped me grow as a tyer. This fly has done wonders for me in Wisconsin's driftless and on my local onion river north of milwaukee. Thanks again!

    moved to fort collins from chicago. started tying a month-ish ago. yours are the only videos I watch. I sometimes have to slow the speed down a tad but overall your videos crush and I'm super happy for the content. Thank you so much for spreading this vast knowledge. I cant wait to land a fish on a fly I've tied myself. good luck in 2022 and may the gods bring you tight lines.

    One of my favorite foam patterns to fish, and some great tips in the video on tying! I like to use brown foam, peacock colored dubbing and include a bright red floss band just forward from the rear segment.

    With a San juan worm of the back of this fly, it absolutely slays stockers!

    Nice. Just fished with some of these in BC. But this is the only one of your videos I've seen that didn't start with "mash the barb."

    Nice tie Tim - think that the bass will like it :-) Question: is the wing material buoyant like polypropylene?

    • @tightlinevideo
      @tightlinevideo  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      To me, the McFlylon actually seems to float a bit better than polypro. I also think it looks more natural.

    do you have a video of it in use?

    Hi Tim to add buoyancy could you make a double foam version?or would that mess with the action of the fly?

    • @tightlinevideo

      You absolutely can, and many tiers do.

      Check the orvis site: howtoflyfish.orvis.com/fly-tying-videos/dry-flies Many of Flaglers videos are linked here, often with the recipe typed up.

    I tie these with orange bodies and brown foam, and they kill it on the Deschutes River during the salmonfly hatch. To my eye, there's no reason they should work (they look like a floating marshmallow on the water), but they do.
