  • Because of the pandemic, remote work, once called telecommuting, has become a big part of how people work in California; some doing it full time. That has also revived interest in the four-day work week; something talked and dreamed about for generations.

Remote work is really a promotion to 24/7 attendance.

Why not? You think the standard 40 hour/5 day workweek was ALWAYS that way? People literally fought and died for it
Why 6 days with NO overtime pay?

4 day work week is part time. No one making anyone work a job full time.😊

There is no such thing as remote work for blue collar

Right I think the thinking is that a certain “class privilege” should actually just be the standard of full-time, 4-days a week (ask ppl who make above 100k and work remotely if they work 5+ days/week, they don’t). It’s already kinda like people either come back Tuesday or don’t come in on Friday or half days.
Working class (blue collar jobs) will not offer that so why not just make it the new standard of living, full-time benefits for those who work 31hrs/wk, paid time off, sick leave, parental leave. They already do this in France and Western European countries.

There will be too much free time that will destroy our environment. Most people need to be controlled hence long work days, professional sports, etc. No one thinks about millions of people with nothing to do.

Are you one of the billionaire-class corporate stock holders ? Everyone realized their jobs suck the opportunity for simply doing what matters to them more (more family time, more rest) and “productivity” isn’t equal to “labor hours”

Millions of people that do nothing ?? Lol what about the failed CEOs that are born into wealth just to make terrible decisions that flush tax payer money and stock holders ? You sound like the you haven’t seen people dying of hunger in the world
