    Although it doesn't excel in any one particular category...it packs a punch in the value department and available features.

    I just bought the 2020 Ultimate. My wife and I are in our 60's, so the power and the MPG are minor issues. One complaint ; the backup camera resolution is even worse it night. The LED lights blur the view. My wife also wished it had memory seat sitting.
    I found, when on the highway, sport mode makes handling tighter and more manageable.
    Other wise, we love it. Great value too.
    BTW : Very good video. Regular guy, honest commentary is refreshing 👍😎

    I just bought the Tucson SEL model. Good value for the price. It's too bad that MPG is not as high as other makes/models. I agree that Hyundai loads up on features that come standard whereas other makes/models you have to purchase such features in their packages. Love the better warranty as well.

    Good review. I'm a current owner of two hyundai models, Sonata and Elantra both 2017. That 2.4 engine is really slow and gives bad MPGs. I get 19 mpg(mostly city, but my past 4x4 v6 wrangler gave me 16)and drive conservative so this model for me it would be even worse. I like Hyundai, but they can do better on the following.
    1. Better MPGs, the have the lowest of the segment.
    2. Stronger engine
    3.more value on mid trim. The sport model does not come with leather steering wheel.
    4. Real dual exhaust, like its midnight edition.
    5. Bigger tires!! It has the lowest profile of the segment. Mazda has 19 inch at 55 series.
    6. Ground clearance, it's also on the lower side, like at 6.7 which is like a inch higher than a sedan. So far they are super reliable, zero issues.

      Hyundai/Kia products get relatively lower gas mileage than their competitors, but I've seen many ppl get higher gas mileage than sticker even on the 2.4l engines. I have a 2019 Elantra with 2.0mpi and Elantra GT with 2.0 GDI, I get around 40hwy 32city/36hwy 28city respectively, which is at least 2-4 mpg higher than sticker. I have long idle periods and extreme city driving in the city and fast highway driving but idk maybe because I use full synthetic oil and drive 'more' conservatively.

    I have a 2017 Tuscon and love it. Prefer the interior of the 17 as well instead of the refreshed interior of this 2019. 2017 interior seems more thought out in placement of radio, button placement etc. and no random laptop pop up screen. Screen is built into the dash in 2017. much cleaner and prefered look but thats just an opinion of mine

    After driving the Nissan rogue, I just got the Hyundai Tuscon Ultimate. Love it. I looked at the Kia Sportage and Mazda CX5. While I liked the CX-5 a lot, I couldn't get the price I wanted without dropping to lower trims. Same with kia. They wouldn't budge. Lot of leg room and tech stuff. I had more cargo room in the rogue but I was ok with giving some room up there as I gained so much more.

  • @mark4joanne

    Nice, we pick ours up this weekend...Premium trim which is one from top. Premium SE is the top trim level here in the UK which is the only model that gets LED headlights and 19" wheels. Ours has 18" and halogen headlights which is a shame. We're giving up a opening panoramic roof and powered tailgate on our Ford Kuga (Escape I think over there) but we're going for better fuel economy as Ford is 180bhp and AWD

    I own one now for about 6 months, I love it but the 360D does not work well in winter. The cameras are very easy to cloud in rain or snow. The heating is a little slow too. The application on the phone is not exacly replicated on the browser and lack adjustment, worst, when you start the Tucson with the remote start the light will keep flashing until you came in and put your foot on the brake. I have the ultimate version but it lack the non contact charging station.

    The Tucson is a good looking, value packed SUV that probably comes with some great rebates making it more of a value. I like the two-toned leather, panoramic roof, and straight forward controls, but I do think it is time for a refresh though. It’s getting a little long in the tooth. I’d probably take the Sportage twin over this for it’s slightly more youthful appearance. Even though they cost a bit more, I’d take a CX-5 or Crosstrek. Great review. You are doing great with all the in-depth information. Keep it up man!

      Prime Autotainment I hope so too! No worries on FCA though. They should definitely allow you to review their somewhat dismal line up (yeah, I’m trying to be nice here 😏). Probably don’t want to loan them out in fear of the review they’ll get from their crappy cars. (Jeep and Ram excludes). I’d love to see VW and Volvo too. Hopefully you can get them on board sometime.

    My coworker has one of these and she gets better than the MPG rating on the highway. It seems to be a common thing with Hyundai/Kia since they were dinged a few years ago and had to pay out for inflating their MPG rating. I find most domestics do worse than their rating and fuelly confirms this. I also find that all Hyundai's have the same issue of the steering not tracking straight on the highway and you always have to keep making micro adjustments.

    • @PrimeAutotainment

    I've really been toying with the idea of getting another vehicle, and this one is at the top of my list along with the RAV4. Being a Toyota loyalist, it's kind of hard to consider going to another brand. but there a a lot of things to like about this SUV, such as style and reliability. However, I didn't realize how shallow and narrow the cargo area is and how minimal the horsepower is for the 4cyl. My current Rav is quicker than that. I would definitely have to go for the 2.5 ltr in this vehicle if I chose it over the Rav.

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hear ya...Hyundai did a lot of things well with this but yeah it’s hard to beat the Rav for several reasons. We drive two Toyotas and although the new Toyotas may not offer quite as many features for the price points...nothing really pulls me away from them. If you get something different I’d love to hear about it 👍
      I get to drive the RAV4 XSE Hybrid tomorrow so I’m excited about that

    • @22Kevi
      @22Kevi 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's cool. What two Toyota Models do you guys currently drive? I'm still madly in love with my current Rav. A lot of people ragged on the body style, saying it wasn't rugged enough and there was a time where I kinda agreed, but now looking at the new Gen I'm wondering if it's a little too rugged?! However, I'm pretty sure if I decide to get another SUV in the next year or two, it'll most likely be another Rav. I'll be sure to let you know though.

      @@Asmodeus092 So far I'm loving it. It's my 2nd XF and I think once you go XF you will be spoilt for anything else. They are both very different cars, the old one vs the new one, but both driver's cars. When you get one, you'll know what I'm talking about. The Jag fraternity is a special one.

      @@Asmodeus092 Hey Ben, I enjoyed the Mazda. It's fun to drive but underpowered compared to Jaguar. Good quality though and value for money. The touch screen isn't much of a touch screen when you're on the move. You are forced to use the MMI controls in the center console. The GUI is very boring and plain in with redish icons against a Black background. So I always displayed the Nav which made it look better 😁 Mine didn't have Android Auto and that changes everything if you're buying a 2019 or 2020 model. Mine was a 2018 and I could have had it retrofitted for around $400 or R7,000 in my currency (not sure where you live) and that's a bit steep actually considering Mazda should have fitted it ages ago and are now only playing catch-up. That being said, my Jag doesn't have Android Auto either but it's a much better system with a far better GUI so I don't mind and the maps are also better. Hope the info helps. Come check out my TH-cam channel if you want to see more of my car's and what I did to them 😉

    • @PrimeAutotainment

      That’s what they send us. It’s not pick what you want, it’s the brands putting out their best and being thankful just to have a vehicle to review.
      When I go to dealerships I usually try to grab a mid level trim for that reason. Rarely are press cars lower trims. That’s exactly why I mention what features each trim has (unlike most reviewers)
