As some of you already know, Sycomore Eau de Toilette has always been one of the perfume loves of my life and some of you know how much I was disappointed when the edt concentration was discontinued in favor of the eau de parfum. I never liked the eau de parfum... but something has changed... what has changed? Lets find out in this new video! I hope you enjoy it.

Glad I could be of help Iakob 🙏🏻🥰 yes, the current Sycomore edp is the closest to the discontinued edt I ever smelled. So its great news in my book. Haha. But fans of the 2016/17 edp formula might be disappointed. But us edt fans will be thrilled 🤩🤩🤩♥️
I am very surprised Dacob! I was not fortunate enough to sample the EDT. I have sampled the pure Parfum and love it. I owned the EDP a couple of years ago and grew tired of it. I understand your description “mushy” . Your review encourages me. I have a generous sample that I received about a month ago in my cabinet. I will revisit a former love.

Sometimes the scent changes, sometimes we do! Lol. I LOVE Sycomore EDP! 💚 But I have a sample, and now I don’t know which one I love. Did it change? Welp. In any case, I trust your judgment and need to buy it ASAP! Thanks for the review Dacob! ❤️

Dacob, love your channel. I recently bought Sycomore batch code 7101. Any thoughts on this version? It’s the only version I know, bought it in boutique.

after watching this video, I really had to go to my Chanel boutique! You're right, it smells different than the early batches. I remembered purchasing Sycomore EDP in 2017, and I immediately had to return it because it made me nauseous. It was so warm I couldn't wear it in the sun or with a warm coat. Now with the new batches, I am sensing that cool green vibe again that I love.
I own a Sycomore Parfum tho, and I love it. Do you prefer the EDP or Parfum? Do you have issues with Sycomore only lasting like 2-3 hours? (I am not really happy with the recent price increase to les exclusifs tho)
The price increase is disgusting. They are way too greedy and it saddens me a lot because so many people will no longer be able to purchase these gems because many have been out-priced from this perfume collection.
I prefer Sycomore parfum to the edp even though I adore both. I too have an issue with the current lasting power of Sycomore edp. My first batches of Sycomore edt from the 2007 launches had a beast lasting power… over a day on skin and even longer on clothes. They have definitely watered it down a lot but at least the current edp is closer to the smell of the discontinued edt, which makes me happy. But yeah, I have huge issues with chanel raising their prices so much and at the same time making me feel like they are scamming me by watering down some of the perfumes.
@@essence-tiallydacob9611 right!! I wish I had a chance to smell the 2007 sycomore. I feel like Chanel is really disrespecting its customer base at this point, even the enthusiasts. There have been lots of comments about how customers want the EDT back but Chanel won’t respond or act on it. Then, they even watered down the perfume and had the audacity to raise the prices astronomically. Chanel nowadays is like “i know better” holier than thou attitude. I honestly don’t know what Chanel is aiming at this point: they are not attracting new customer base with this price; they are pissing off existing customers; their quality (particularly leather products) have dropped significantly to attract the “1%”. It’s a shame honestly to see the house you love slowly wither away.
Sorry for the rant haha. To be fair, some of their perfumes are still good quality tho.
Dacob you're a genius! Sycomore never quite vibed with me, I felt the drydown went a bit musty or old fashioned, something was off in the base. I tried the parfum as well and while I like it, it wears very soft and emphasizes more the warmer aspects. I just got a brand new bottle of the EDP and you're absolutely right, something has changed for the better! It is much lighter and dryer now. It wears almost like an airy vetiver cologne and I love it!! So glad I gave it another shot and got a new bottle based on your recommendation.

I'm shocked you bought that, now I have to try it. To me 1957 smells like Sycomore but with a lot of musk on top. I think Chanel thought other perfumes would sell but it seems Sycomore probably became the most profitable. Idk just speculating here.

Ah, sorry I missed this video and it's premiere. I love Sycamore. Still waiting for my new local beauty boutique to get the pure parfum so I can rewatch your unboxing/first impressions. You mentioned traveling; my 150ml exclusifs fit perfectly into a 150ml LV mono case. Wish Chanel made one, but it works for me💕

I can't speak for Dacob but for me when you smell all the other Chanel perfumes like Les Exclusifs or Pour Monsieur, the other male fragrances seem boring and "safe" such as Bleu de Chanel or Allure Homme. I would rather spend money on a gorgeous fragrance instead of banality. Don't get me wrong they are still much better than Light Blue or Axe.
I love CHN Syc Lily/ Tulsi/ Balsam fir/ oakmoss/ vetiver nuances I get as I wear this beauty. I would tell I may sense a powerful sweet minty flower in its heart. With no vetiver, it also smells devine ❤❤❤❤

@@essence-tiallydacob9611 It reminds me of a drive through an Oklahoma highway during the spring when the county crews are on the mowers cutting sweet grass so I get when you say dry, yet cold/wet/damp. Earthy for me is when the freshly cut dewy grass blades are air drying throughout the atmosphere creating organic aromatics escaping into the breeze and the scent is divine.
Sycomore is my obsession. But now i rather can't even think about to buy it. I'm from Russia, i think you understand how it costs now. So i look for some similar. Encre noire feels for me more simple and kinda shallow. I heard that Vertus 24 k gold feels like Sycomore for 99 %, what do you think?
Can you smell smokiness? 2016 EDP lost that bit. I never purchased after EDP release.
The current edp is heavier on the violet so its a touch sweeter than the edt. So I want to say no real smokey vibes but the current edp got its wet vetiver vibes back a bit so it makes it smell more like the edt to me.

Its a crazy plot twist in this weird year which is coming to an end. They have changed the formula to resemble more the discontinued edt. Now, the question is… why not charge less if they are going back to the edt times? Haha. But I will take this new Sycomore edp and hope they don’t change it yet again.

So girlllll, if Chanel isn’t for me, then why am I going to Chanel Atelier’s then? I’ve been wearing my Coco literally everyday, my Chanel Chance is literally almost out. Chanel provides a wide range of scent profile. I lean more towards feminine scents with spicy and woodsy undertones. That’s my vibe which is why I buy the popular Chanel fragrances. Like you said, Sycamore seem to have changed the formula like they sneakingly did with the others. Does that mean Chanel perfume is not for you? Can’t fault someone’s nose when they are changing formulas every other day! Just saying
