The Templeton Foundation which is a religious organization did a study with almost 2k people on prayer. The results aren't what they wanted. Look up the foundation and the experiment if you are skeptical.
People are focused on the money because 5000 is pretty damn pathetic considering exactly what you said, this woman will never be able to lead a normal life by herself again, let alone sustain herself financially. People like to clown on American lawsuits for their crazy sums, but the penalty for disabling someone into becoming a care patient for life (especially over something this stupid) *should* account for any expenses that stem from the injury or are unable to be covered by the patient as a result of it. 5000 doesn't even cover rent for a year where I live.

Okay, so here's my opinions... Sueing the band is definitely an option, but she likely wouldn't get much. For God's sake where is the common sense? Can people not see through this BS?

Woah I hope she gets better thats so devastating for everyone involved. Not even gonna touch the 5,000 for breakung her neck and paralyzing her in her prime.
This is so sad she just wanted to see her favourite band and ended up being paralysed because of them. The fact that they gave her only 5k for ruining her life is absolutely sickening
Honestly it’s respectable that they stoped the concert and he rode with her to the hospital and covered the hospital bills. I don’t hear a lot of singer who have these accidents happen do this
The $5,000 that he donated did not cover the medical bills, he didn't say that and it wouldn't even have come close to covering the medical bills. That young girl is going to need 24 hour round the clock medical care at home by a team of live in nurses. $5,000 would only cover 2 weeks of care at the most. The surgery would have been hundreds of thousands of dollars.
It's crazy that this wasn't a huge mainstream news story that forever linked the band's and singer's name with this event. Certain genres of music and musicians seem to be protected from viral bad press, no matter how bad their deeds.
To the folks complaining about the 5K payout, get with reality. We're not talking about Lars from Metallica here. Most touring bands are making just what they need and little more, if that. Touring and producing music is extremely expensive, and even nationally touring bands don't rake in much. 5K is a lot of money for most people, and even if it's only a small sum against the potential medical bills, it's nothing paltry. It also begs mentioning, that this was all just a freak accident. All over the globe band members stage dive into crowds without issues, this was just tragic and unfortunate. If you want to be mad at anything, be mad at the medical and insurance industries, and politicians that keep medical treatment expenses so fucking high.
He'll be getting sued for much more. The singer has a net worth of 20 million. The attempt to buy his way out legal accountability was sickening, but not as sickening as the people tribally defending it.
@@leonfrancis3418 I had no idea he had that kind of money to be fair. My assumption was they they're just a another touring band scraping by. If he's got that kind of funds available, then absolutely he should be putting more of his money behind it. Even if it was a freak accident, he should be dropping some serious funds their way.
Yeah. What needs to happen is the singer needs to do at least 6 months to a year in jail for assault. And the whole band held responsible. They need to be paying a percentage of income, concert sales, etc. for the rest of their lives since they paralyzed her for life.
Responsible? He broke the rules. Even if he didn't see the signs or whatever, why the hell would you need to crowdsurf in the first place. Like yeah, I get it's supposedly part of the show, but that's like saying “Yeah, I shoot guns, not to kill people, it's just a part of our band, y'know?”
Honestly a mistake was made he should have announced it. But lets be honest the main stream pop stars like drake would of kept on going to get paid for the show and used a wall of lawyers to limit contact.
People saying 5k is too little. I think the guys also know this, they probably too poor to be paying anymore. They seem to regret their action severely. Sometimes when you don't give a shit about the rule telling you not to do something, this is the result. Honestly, i really hope they could help the girl more, maybe even take care of her as well. 5k definitely wasn't enough in this day economy.
These type of stuff is why I don't really go to concerts anymore or when going I stay way, way at the back. There was once where I got dragged into a mosh pit, people where going crazy, not just jumping, and dancing, but also fighting each other. I fell down, got trampled on, and kicked. Several times when people tried to help me up I was just pushed down again, elbowed, and punched on the way. I don't even know how long after I was able to be rescued, but it was very traumatizing.
I hate it how everybody in the comment section is so focused on money. Cash is not the most important thing in the world. Even if they gave her 1m that wouldn't make her immediately able to walk again. What's important is that the band clearly cares about their injured fan. They stopped the concert, joined her in the ambulance and hopefully will sustain her on the journey to recovery. I believe that would be worth more than any sum of money!
Would you be happy when you get your life completely ruined by the negligence of a grown ass man and just get 5 thousand? 5k won’t even cover a quarter of 1 hospital fee.
You are probably very young and extremely naive. You are even talking like recovery is guaranteed. You think their care for her will matter in the next 60 years if she never recovers? They are playing a tiny venue, how much do you think that guy makes? Also how good do you think he is at saving money. I'd suspect 5k is all he had because he doesn't know how to save the little money he makes.

It's weird you're trying to make this guy your hero.
He jumped onto a fan at a venue that forbade crowdsurfing, then immediately went into self preservation mode when he saw the severity of the situation and how liable he would be.
It wasn't about protecting her.
It was about covering the band at that point.
The same reason for the 5k payoff.
Travis Scott didn't attempt to buy his way out of accountability.
I hope she sues for everything they're worth.
She dyes her hair. Skill issue. Lgtv+ community tweaking

Bro what
She should sue him, 5k is honestly an insult to a paralyzed young woman.
Makes me not want to be in the crowd at a concert anymore. Or at least not near the stage. I'm glad to hear she's going to make a full recovery, I really hope she does so she can continue to live a normal life and not have to be on painkillers or need more procedures later on it life.
