I don’t do nails but when my hand cream, shampoo whatever, I will get ever last drop out. With my hand cream I cut the bottle open and get so much more out of the bottle. I am Scottish and I pinch pennies whenever I can. I’ll do it till I die.Waste not want not. I love you for caring about us and how much money we spend. That’s why I love you,Adam and everyone else. I get so much joy.❤❤❤🦄🦄🦄

It saves money but is also less wasteful which is fantastic! Thanks Kirsty 😁

Also you could wash out the empty bottles and use them to make your own cuticle oil 😊

I do my own nails at home. I use my old top bottles to make different colored "jelly" or "sheer" polish. I sometimes need to add a bit of new top coat to the old bottle but that is what works for me.

I think an awesome way to save money on topcoat, would be to sell refill bottles! Then you could just keep filling up the same bottle

The reusable file board and cutting the grits is a really good idea
I worked out using your files as examples
If you bought the 50 pack of single use files it’s 56p per file, packs of 25 are £1 per file. Buffers are £1.50 each.
To use all 4 grit files plus a buffer is £4.86-£5.50 (£2.43-2.75 if you cut the files in half)
To do the same with the reusable board and replacement sandpaper is £1.12 for all 4 file grits when cut in half. To make the file/buffer combo you demonstrate here is 61p.
All four grit replacement board files cut in half plus half a buffer is £1.46. All four with a buffer without cutting anything in half is £2.91

The pour one bottle into another trick, I've used for most of my life... Around the house.
To make it easier, set the almost empty bottle of gel into a bowl of warm water, or on a heating pad. All the gel, stuck to the sides and on the brush, will become thinner and drop to the bottom of the bottle. Then, once warm, tip it over onto the other bottle - be careful, as its thin and runny, it will come out fast!!
But then you will really get the last drop!!
I personally think there should be a refill size, one can buy, then you just need to buy extra brushes, as they age and die. Bottles could be used over and over, which would be a great thing, less to the landfill...
    Hope that help 😊

Hey Kirsty with the top coat if you save the empty bottle or almost empty bottle the next bottle that gets that low do the same tip you gave on top coat but use the empty bottle you saved ! One you want have to worry about over flowing and two eventually once you get that bottle full again it would almost be like getting a free bottle! What’s funny about this is my Husband is a transmission tech he’s worked in a dealership for like 30 yearZ now! He had done this exact same thing with bottles of oil and transmission fluid for years! He says there is no way you can get every last drop out if the bottles when working on cars so he keeps one bottle that’s pretty well empty then he turns over any other bottles after use and let’s the excess drip he has always told me it takes him a while to get a full bottle but eventually it ends up filling up the bottles he’s using and he starts the next one. But yea he’s always done this just with car fluids! How funny is that! As soon as you flipped that bottle over He’s the first person U thought of!! LOL!!😅😂😅😂😂😂🌻🌻🌻

Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! There was one that I saw somewhere about tipping the rest of the top coat into another bottle and they used toothpicks to put inside the bottles to help them become steady when on top of each other 👏🏻

I absolutely love this video because Kirsty I’m like you When it comes to nail products I don’t like to use cheap products because they just don’t hold up as well and as we all know good quality products cost 💲 so I am a bargain shopper I like to make my orders when I know a good sale is coming but I use everything to the very end and I use the empty gel polish bottles to mix a color I don’t have and I like using the gel polish brushes to put on gel polishes that’s in pots thank you so much for this video

Kirsty you should change the design of your files to have a perforation or some kind of break away feature so the tech can choose. You know like how kitchen roll has different size choices.

That’s a good idea in theory but it would cost more to make them which would push the price up, also if you put to much pressure on when filling they would be snapping …

Could be wrong but I think every salon I’ve been to here in the US has done my nails with used files/buffers and bit sanders. Kinda disgusting. Didn’t realize I could tell them to use new ones and to open the new ones in front of me. Never been to a nice salon, just the ones that are trying to get you in and out quickly, which makes me wonder how much sanitizing they do. My nails never turn out right and I’m always having to file off, reshape and reapply top coat when I get home. I have thin, weak, natural long nails, when I stop biting them and let them grow out, and only get acrylic overlay or dip done. Just purchased Kiara Sky mini dip system I’ll be trying at home. At least then I’ll know where everything has been and can be pissed at myself if I screw its up…like they always do.

So I went to the local training Collage (TAFE) Technical And Further Education it's the same with the hair salon, the students may be atuden apprentices but they are supervised and I've ALWAYS had really good experiences there!
AND you know they are following all the health codes too!!
