This has got to be THE most detailed and realest result and comparison video on these eye creams ! Very much appreciated ! I just got my Peter Thomas Roth delivered. Can’t wait to try ☺️☺️🙌🏼
Thank you, I'm glad you found it helpful! I hope you like using the Peter Thomas Roth. The other day a viewer mentioned that if you just set it with a little powder she has better results than if she puts makeup right on top of it. I hope that helps!
I use the Roth everyday. I am able to apply a thin color correcting primer to the area before with a sponge...but thin. After it soaks in then I apply the Roth. I use less than you did and I don't rub it I only tap it in and try not to go below the orbital crease or up on my nose at all. That is where it will show. I also don't let it get too close to my lower lash line, it will actually pull your lower lid down! Or too close to the outer corner of your eye, it will pull it down too!
I’ve used the Peter Roth brand and I too have deep bags and it works. Yes there’s a tiny like film but I found if I dab a little makeup on outer edges it works looks great 👍🏼
Such a great video! And thanks for doing the after video because that's where the difference REALLY shows. Good to know that it isn't a "miracle" product because of the applying make up on top of the product issue. Still going to try the PTR product but with more realistic expectations. Thank you!
I have bought so many and I have used the Roth and I like but I have to say the best out of the best is the Westmore Beauty. I have never found anything that works so well and trust me I have a draw filled with all instant eye-tightening stuff. Thank you so much for your review.
Thanks for your review. I've tried both and countless other brands. I didn't care for PTR because it dries out my eyes, leaves a white cast and feels itchy. I find the It is less drying and works if you need to apply an extra after the first dries. But it lasts a long time. However it's a pain to get it off. I use a cleansing oil/olive oil and let it sit a few minutes.
What a brilliant review, thank you! You really have answered all of my questions, what a pleasant relief to find someone like you! I have now subscribed. Much Love from England and thanks for saving me some £'s xxx
Very obvious, the TR was the winner. Just recently I began using my "quicker picker up er" Thomas Ross. I have been playing around with what others suggest on the order of make-up, eyes 1st, or what have you. I have a very oily based make-up. I put my concealers on first even the contour colors for cheeks. I then lightly apply the skin tone matched make-up, then on top is the TR and amazingly it, still tightens the bags under the eyes and at 70 they are double the size they were when I was 40ish. It worked so well and the slight film left usually behind, disappeared with the make up. On top of primers everything, it still works, at least for me. Hope you can experiment with after make-up and skin creams. Good video and it's fun and inspiring, seeing real life results.
Roth works for me! I also put a dab on my jowls too. Downside: White powder or cracked appearance if using a fan to quickly dry coat. I never ever use any creams or make up; It’ll quickly collapse.
Im glad u did the switch i did recon that left was worst i wondered y u didnt use ptr on both . Tnx for the refo my bags looks like your left eyes . Idk if my puffiness is fat pad or water i tried PTR firmx very disappointed. Cleanface use qtip for application . With the grayish cast i have to clean it off . My bags did not disappear I will keep watching vids for solution youtubers are creative.
I have some success using a loose powder over the Phillip Thomas Roth product. As you mentioned, any moisture or concealer product at all completely obliterates the good effect of the Peter Thomas Roth product. However, It seems it can tolerate the powder if like me, someone needs a bit of a brightening effect too. Thanks for the review- saved me the money of buying the It product!
I have had great success with the PTR putting it on OVER my eye makeup and creams, and I really goop them on. The trick is to let it all absorb for 30 -45 minutes then apply PTR sparingly. Works and lasts a good 6 hours.
You have to use the It OVER your skin care and makeup. Usually I apply two light layers, letting them dry in between. I get awesome results, without too much tightness, without dehydrating my eye area, without that white resideue, which, say what you want, is very hard to remove, at least completely. The It Cosmetics version looks more natural, and lasts till you take it off. Maybe results are different depending on your foundation and sunscreen or other undereye products you use, but I’ve been able to make it work with everything. Far superior to the PTR FirmX. And, you can still wear sunscreen under it.
@@geslinam9703 Good to know that you get even better results with the IT version. And yes, tighteners work really well when applied OVER all creams and makeup, in spite of what the directions say. The only caveat is to let it all sink in well first.
What about trying Laura Geller compact powder make-up? I'm going to try that and work AROUND the Peter Thomas stuff. I won't allow the powder to touch the P. Thomas product at all. We have to try everything. I have those products in the house already. Years ago, Avon made a similar product for eye bags. I wore only compact powder in those days and it worked beautifully when I just worked around it. In those days I only powdered my nose and used a bit of powder blush. I got baggy eyes only once a month of course. I still wore eye-liner and mascara. Simpler days. Sweet youth. The best thing I ever did was sleeping on my back on a waterbed for 15 years. I had no wrinkles until some showed up during the pandemic. They have to appear at some point. I'm 80 and they are only just getting me around the lower jaw now. It's the pillow and my much thinner, older skin.
It is great that you could sleep on your back for so many years. I struggle with sleeping on my back even though I know it would help. I'd love to hear how using the Laura Geller Compact works out for you.
@@agingwellwithjoy I'll let you know. (The waterbed was brilliant. I just imagined floating on my back in a pool. It worked without effort. They stopped making the solid water containers so it was back to the ordinary bed.)
Thank you! Yes, you should be able to wear SPF over both, but I do find that the Peter Thomas Roth tends to break down rather quickly when I put anything over it.
I've used Instantly Ageless eye cream and it worked fantastically for me, but I don't wear makeup, so I can't say it doesn't interfere with that. Unfortunately, Instantly Ageless isn't made anymore by Jeunesse anymore, and I don't know why. It works fine over oil free moisturizer.

The it cosmetics brand makes two staples in my makeup collection - the “love is the foundation” brush and the bye bye under eye concealer. Nothing else compares to that! I just heard Johnny Harris talk about a drug store “supe” I can’t recall what it is off the top but I would be surprised if it was close. I have had the Peter T.Product in my cabinet since the Ulta Days of Beauty sale in March but I have not tried it. I hope you like it enough for me to try it!😊
I’m curious if you could give me any insight - I’m very, very fair skinned… nearly like a ghost in the winter. Do you think that would leave a cast on me?
I think it may. It has the slightest yellow tint and can look a little flakey, but I think the results are worth it. One of my subscribers said that she uses a little bit of translucent powder to set it around the edges and that works for her. I haven't tried that yet but it may be worth a shot.
Have those eye bags removed by an experienced/skilled surgeon who specializes in those things. It doesn’t cost that much. My friend tried everything; nothing worked until she had them removed.
There's something I heard when you use powder makeup when you're over 40 it it kind of like doesn't look right it makes it look worse but I don't know also if you have bags under your eyes putting eyeliner on the bottom lid that makes a notice more just on the top and not work but on the bottom I'm thinking it's better not to put on
Thank you Melinda. I have heard that about powder makeup as well and I do feel like powder can look really bad in lines and wrinkles. I prefer cream products myself, but do like some powder blushes and bronzers. I stick to cream or liquid foundations though.
You can't wear the Peter Thomas Roth under oil based make-ups because silicates are break it down. You probably need to put a water or powder based make-up on FIRST and then gently pat on the Peter Thomas Ross (pat it, don't rub it, it's not meant to be absorbed into the skin).
Of course surgery, IF you can afford it. Peter Roth product works the best ever. My self esteem increases and I can take off my glasses. Try the mini size on his site.
I just cant imagine when i suppose to use a PTR, no cream and no makeup on top, i tryed...what is the point? The It i could use on top of concealer... My eyes are so puffy all my life, i feel so bad about and so ugly 😢
Rapid plexaderm it work for me I have deep lines on my mouth on my forehead and it works you can put makeup also they have a a trial 2 test before you buy it that's pretty good look it up and try it I think it's good and I have deep lines on my forehead also remind my mouth MVD low the eyes if you have bags it take the bags away it's like a miracle for me and today I'm trying that Peter Thomas Roth had no results on me
I’ve used the Strivectin-it definitely works. I prefer if I have a fairly short term use, as after 5 hrs, my under eyes look VERY dry. I’ve had good luck with the Peter Thomas Roth. And I don’t get the white cast. I use no under eye concealer as I’m older and concealers tends to work against me. So, I’m using the Roth product on bare skin.
I use the Peter Thomas Roth-apply to bare skin with a small brush and get no white cast. However, that means no undereye concealer. So, it’s a trade off.
Thanks for the excellent in-depth review! I was born with eye bags, and have been self conscious of them all my life, literally since I was 7 or 8 years old. They have affected my confidence all my life and are similar in type to the woman in the tictoc video. I'm 54 now. I had to take selfie for a travel visa today, and was shocked at how pronounced they are now - like triple bags! 😪 I'll give this cream a whirl before I go down the surgery route..

Welcome!! I'm so glad to have you as a subscriber! I'm always shocked when I put on the PTR and it works so well. 😊
U r 100% correct. I did it while in the store. Definitely, Peter Roth works instantly but leaves a small cast. I'll use sparingly.

I just saw a video where she mixed her concealer and the PTR worked better with a mix together.. worth a try

It really does a great job if you are careful with what you put over it.

That is what I find as well.
I use covergirl concealer and let it dry and then put small amount of PTR on top. Works great.

The Peter Thomas recommend that you use a brush when applying and for the white residue use a damp q-tip to wipe away
Thank you for the suggestions!
Yes! This works.

For under eye bags ,try the Venofeye wrinkle corrector ,it works but quite pricy
Just used Peter Roth today and it worked but left white crackle that was rough to touch
Elastiderm eye cream is the best eye cream and depuffer. It’s expensive, but so worth it

Thank you for a great video! Do you sleep on your left side? That might be why your left eye is puffier. I noticed that for myself.
I do sleep on my sides so I may lay on that side more. I have trouble sleeping on my back even though I know I should. Thank you for watching!!
What a fantastic, in depth video, brilliant 😊. Could wear SPF over both of these?

Mix a little bit of a silicone concealer with Peter/ like 25 concealer to 75 product. Then use a Laura gellar powder foundation.

Nothing gets rid of under eye bags other than surgery
Yes, these are just temporary "fixes." I agree that surgery is the only way to get rid of them permanently. Thank you for your thoughts.
Or filler that lasts about a year. But you look beautiful and it definitely worked!

Generally Ulta
I believe that it's an unfair comparison. I would like to see Roth on your worst eye and bye bye on your other. Just to be fair.
I agree, but that is why after I try it the first time I do another demonstration and switch eyes. It's further on in the video.
