Hate to see it, love the character, but he is literally a typical Shonen MC in a Seinen world.... so yeah.... "Tan" = Elixir of Life in Taoist alchemy "Tensen" = "Immortals" is probably the best one word translation, though that doesn't capture the full meaning of "Tensen". There is a lot more to it.
