Fun fact, you can go to the esoterica at any point in the game and misty will foreshadow the next main story mission. On my first few play throughs I'd always use her readings to gauge my next move.
I woke up early to finish the game before work one day and literally teared up watching it. I never thought that could happen for a video game or from Keanu's acting/voice lol.
This game is full of foreshadowing, the biggest one in my opinion is Misty telling Jack to "stay away from red things" What color is Dexter's vest? Red What color represents the Maelstrom? Red What color represents arasaka? Black, white and *red* What is the main color in the entirety of the kompeki plaza? *red* What state Yorinobu activates in the kompeki plaza right after he kills Saburo? Code *RED* Saying there are red flags all over the beggining is the laziest joke in all of fiction
"Damn Misty that spread was kinda depressing." "YoU bRoUgHt tHiS oN yOuRsElF, v!" I think someone's a little salty that the wrong person survived the heist.
@@MediadosIt’s actually the other way around. Jackie was obsessed with that gig and merc life in general, V is the one who always kept being realistic and the one most likely to pull out of the heist. Jackie’s naivety rubbed off on V pre and during the heist.
@@bluerieI think what bro means is that Jackie trusted V like a brother and would’ve backed out if V did. The major leagues don’t mean working with a shady fixer who ghosted outta town
Jackie deserved so much better than to die. He had a family, a mother, a woman, a number of gang members that he no longer belonged to, yet still cared for him. V may have survived, but Jackie was the reason V made it.
Jackie deserved better, but he might as well have walked through a dark alley with money bulging out of his pockets. His end is to be expected. He got desperate enough to make it big that he decided to work with a piece of work like dex, who's notorious as a shit fixer who burns through mercs. V went along with it, which is equally stupid, but at least you have the option to voice the opinion that its a bad idea. Jackie was the driving force behind that gig, and he's an idiot. A lovable idiot who deserved so much better, but still an idiot.
I love how cheeky the game was being when you realize that practically all the cards you get before the heist are reversed. Might be because I played too many Persona games, but reversed tarot cards usually mean bad omens.
What I love is that every card you find is at an important location throughout the campaign’s story. Sadly, I waited until after I’d finished the game to do this mission, and I really regret it. I can only imagine the mind fuck I would’ve had whilst playing the story for the first time, slowly realizing that I’d been to all of those places before.
Right all of the cards also represent the important figures as well. V is the fool a beginner to the game and is ignorant to how the story will go. However this isn’t necessarily a bad thing a fool can also grow. Since it’s nothing it can branch outward.
i will never forget finding the "world" card early game on that rooftop, reading its description, and then as V is dying on that same rooftop before the last mission, recalling every word. Shook me to my core and made me analyse the tarot cards again when i'd written them off before hand. Especially because just after that i went with the Star ending as a male V, and heard one of her final card predictions. Everything Misty has ever said in the game comes true.
The last time I played a game this foreshadowing, my character was arguing with a STOP sign before the news man on the TV decided to foreshadow me a twist through a joke.
Love that game and I’m also glad I ignored the common advice of “don’t play a malk the first time”. I get the dialogue can be off putting but let me tell you getting the cryptic hints in dialogue that doesn’t make sense only to get the epiphany down the road after it happens is an amazing experience and you won’t get it if you played a more conventional clan then play a malk.
Jackies death was the first thing to make me truly feel in a video game, I sat in the car for straight minutes, and when I was about to go into the door to get back to Dex, I looked back at the car one final time, it was very immersive, I love this game.
"stay away from mean reds, ANYTHING red" A lot of the lighting in Phantom Liberty is red, and the colour seems to be the prevailing one and we all know how THAT ended up.
One of my favourite bits of foreshadowing is a street kid dialog with jakie before you meet Dex, V says something along the lines of, “this stinks and will finish with us dead and buried in a landfill
i luv this because they give u the blueprint to the puzzle before they give u all the pieces makes it sm easier to follow along n some js don’t understand the difference it makes
That is probably one of the coolest mechanics in the game, if you get all the cards she'll have different cards drawn before certain missions hinting at what could happen depending on your choices.
I love this game. I love this game. I love this game. I don't care if it's a game, nothing but lines of code on my computer, 1's and 0's creating a shared hallucination. It is quite ironic for me. My experience with this game was exactly as she said: I expected a mid game, not worth the full price I paid, that will left my steam's acc sooner or later. As she said it was only the beginning... and it was nothing as I expected.... and far more longed that I imagined. I spent the entire game in conflict with myself about the choices with Judy, the risk of asking Panam for help, giving Johnny that amount of trust from the get go.
