Don't do it. Study Mechanical Engineering for wider opportunities. Mech Engineering graduates also got hired by GM, Ford, etc. Universities (Mech Eng) compete in SAE sponsored Baja competition. Every university was given the same engine.

Computer tech's salary is limited. The easy questions are answered by techs located in India. The harder ones are done by local techs (loading custom software, laptop upgrades, installing hardware peripherals, disaffecting viruses, etc.)
It's a decent course if you don't want to do software development. The salary is certainly lesser in comparison but if that's the career you want to pursue then you should go for it

Engineering appears to be more secure; the older the wiser. CS has ageism. Around age 40, people start to get layoff in favor of younger workers. If you are in North America, there is a lot of pressure to outsource your work.
