Asalamu alaykum sis! Thank you for posting this. I’m going to uni this year but in the long term Insha’Allah I want to move to the gulf countries. Do you think it’s easier to get a medical job there or an educational one if you’re coming from the West? Also, here in the US teachers are not paid very well. Is that the same for these countries?
Wcs, thanks for watching hun! To be honest I’ve learnt a lot after I moved to the gulf countries. For families it is not reliable to stay in these countries for a long period of time because you are on residence visa permits up to 2 years which requires to be renewed. Expats stay usually up to 4-6 years sometimes longer. England doesn’t pay teachers well either but the gulf countries do. My friend is in the medical field and at one point I was helping her get a nursing job out here and she did secure one but decided to take a different route. All in all, if you want to better your lifestyle, earn extra money and live in a hot place the UAE is the way forward.

Wcs, thank you so much for watching my videos, I appreciate it. In regards to hiring a car I’m not too sure because I don’t drive here but I have friends that drive but the general transportation in Qatar is taxi and it is the cheapest in comparison to the UAE. You can also catch buses and trains.

Hey! Thank you for watching and no we aren’t expected to teach any Arabic related subjects (Arabic, Qatar history and Islamic lessons). Just the English subjects.

Yes I used to teach in Dubai for a year and a half now I am teaching in Qatar (for a year only possibly) because I have other plans. Also school has only the same routine everyday* so there’s only 1 day in the life…

Salam sis I had a question just got my celta certificate. What would be the benefits of working in Qatar as a celta teacher? How much do they get paid ? Do they pay for your living expenses?
Wcs, the benefits are very much similar to working as a primary/secondary teacher. But the salary will be a bit lower compared to the primary/secondary teaching role. The salary I would say is between 9,000 to 16,300 QR per month but it’s very much dependent on experience. If you just got your celta certificate you may need to work around 6-12 months in the UK if you want a good salary abroad. They will look at your CV and ask about your experience as that’s the main thing that will determine your salary. Also if you are married/have children they will need to take things into perspective and the salary will be increased but not too much. There are 2 routes, they provide you with accommodation so your salary will be normal or they provide you with an accommodation allowance and you choose where you would like to live. The salary is usually broke down into salary, allowance, transportation, living allowance ect. So this will be your salary and you choose how you would like to spend your money. I hope this helps 😊👍

PGCE and degree
You don’t need PGCE. I taught in Qatar for 2 years and don’t have a PGCE. As long as you have a relevant degree and\or teaching licence from your home country.
