Brother I used to make log cabins for a living back in the late 70’s out of McCall and New Meadows, ID. and I love how you think. I built all the log beds and furniture in the house with 18th and 19th century era tools (all original) and it brings peace to your soul. These days other than some fish and a chunk of deer meat… what you built is all I would need. Hats off and what a fantastic job you did! Enjoy your cabin and God bless

My great Grandfather built his own cabin way way back when you had to do for yourself, just like you did. I had to chuckle when you put the dirt on top of the dug out because Grampa's had dirt and every spring it sprouted grass, flowere and weeds. Anyway the value of the insulation offered by dirt cannot be devalued. Grampas house stood for over 100 years whjile the town grew up afround his cabin. Thank you for the values you show in your coonstruction, youjr place may well be there many more years. Beautiful cabin, you should be proud of your talents.

It's videos like this that remind me of a real life, happy dog, building with care, not profit in mind! Yes, I know, busy world lots of people, but in the moments where you find yourself right beside this fellow, knowing the next step, eager to advance the build, imagine stepping back and observing your days progress with that true feeling of accomplishment, I never feel anything like that when paying a Bill!
Diggin into the hillside to begin with, is just next level ! At face value, some people may call this cabin primitive. But, i have watched a lot of cabins built, and this one takes just as much skill as a more " modern" build, its just that the result is different. So yeah, Bushcraft. Well done :)
It was great to watch your construction using only basic hand tools, axe, hammer, tape measure, spirit level , wire brush, square, chisels, handsaws etc. Charring the lumber for preservation, and recycling the windows, table top and wood stove are all great features

From watching some of your other video I used to think you were a fairly amateur wood worker. but this one show you do have the knowledge needed to be qualified as a skilled wood worker your just strategically lazy and I can respect that :P Also, the diatomaceous earth and bark combo to insulate the floor was clever.

Diggin into the hillside to begin with, is just next level ! At face value, some people may call this cabin primitive. But, i have watched a lot of cabins built, and this one takes just as much skill as a more " modern" build, its just that the result is different. So yeah, Bushcraft. Well done :)

It was great to watch your construction using only basic hand tools, axe, hammer, tape measure, spirit level , wire brush, square, chisels, handsaws etc. Charring the lumber for preservation, and recycling the windows, table top and wood stove are all great features

From watching some of your other video I used to think you were a fairly amateur wood worker. but this one show you do have the knowledge needed to be qualified as a skilled wood worker your just strategically lazy and I can respect that :P

MESMERIZED! My daughter came out of her bedroom twice, 30 min apart to find i hadn't moved an inch from where i stood!😅 MY MAN...SKILLED, DEDICATED, AND OBVIOUSLY FULL OF KNOWLEDGE.
