Luck Money

When you are selling a horse has anyone ever asked you for luck money. Luck money used to be something that purchasers requested when they bought a horse. Some people were superstitious about it and thought they would not have luck if this money was not received willing. Has anyone any experience of this. Does this happen with cars sales or selling anything else.
