  • Canadian guitar player and songwriter David Wilcox talks about his first audition for Ian and Sylvia Tyson's country rock band, The Great Speckled Bird. Wilcox also talks about his debut solo album that had 3 hits, Do the Bearcat, Hypnotizin' Boogie, and Bad Apple. Recorded in 1978, the disco era, the album was not released until 1980.
Once released, Wilcox was an instant hit, becoming one of Canada's most celebrated guitar players. A true gentlemen, a humble Canadian, and a Giant Talent!

always my answer to "who's your favourite musician/band" Theres so many great new musicians and old classic rock or bob segar/esk sounds. but the first time i listened to out of the woods on my dads record player, i was just. sold. Wilcox plays the perfect notes, and more importantly leaves the perfect notes out at the right time.
would love to pick his brain on the music he's written so simple yet perfectly complicated!

The man himself is wonderfully magnanimouss, insightful and not really living the myth of his early years. Back in the day he could almost have been considered dangerous to some extent. All that aside, David Wilcox is easily one of ther best living Canadian musicians, and among the best of all time.
