In other news: holy crap I remember this being SO HARD when I was a kid... There was always that one kid who was really good at it... And you get to that one boss... You know... And then the player, with utmost excitement, gladly passes over the controller in the hopes we will get father than ever before! 😂🤣👍
as a child playing this in the 80s, I recall this game being a true adventure. I don't how to describe it, nor can I recreate that feeling today when trying to replay it, but boy it was amazing... I think our imagination filled in the gaps of the story and such is all I can figure.
The sounds of those disappearing blocks brings back a memory I had repressed.

I think they were in every NES Mega Man game. I could traverse them without help from Rush or other items except for the ones in Mega Man 2. F those ones lol

Mega Man 3 to me was THE mega man for NES. This game was a game changer for me.

I'm going to be playing through as many of the games you've covered as I can. NES & SNES Classic Minis, Hakchi and ROMs really make retro experience work on modern HD tvs.
I've been watching retro video game content on TH-cam for a while, and it was getting stale in my opinion. These videos are a breath of fresh air!
This is actually what I've been doing. As someone who's been into emulation for many years, I have something like six hundred and something favorited games. I usually just play a retro game here and there for 10 minutes or so before moving onto something else but this channel is helping me focus tremendously. I'm finally beating old school games because of it. I just play and master what he covers now.

I got this for Christmas the year it came out, and I played it till my thumbs blistered. While MM2 is still my overall favorite in the series, this one sure holds its own, and is one of my favorite games of all time.

Ive completed all 6 of the NES ones and I think 3 is the hardest of them all. Got back to playing it today, and I cant even get CLOSE to completing it anymore.

The scrolling electrical tethers in both versions of Spark Man's stage can be de-spawned if you you move back to the left
I've found it works consistently with the reddish/pink ones but not so consistently with the orange ones.
Awesome, another Megaman episode! To me, the Megaman franchise has always been about the gameplay and the music equally. I own the soundtracks for all the OG MM titles, as well as, all the Megaman X soundtracks.
It's funny that you mentioned the long running debate over which is better between MM2 and MM3, as some friends and I were having a debate over this recently. Though I really don't have a preference to which is better; I enjoy MM3's gameplay more, but MM2's soundtrack the most.

As a Mega man vet this was a trip back to nostalgia but I learned a couple of new tricks and tips. A nice treat indeed
My favorite in the "classic" series. The first i've finished! Favorite soundtrack and bosses! The only "bad thing" is the absence of the chaged buster.
To be honest, I felt that the Mega Buster was TOO powerful. It almost made the other weapons moot.
I like the slide, but not the charging buster--it's cumbersome to always play with it in mind, holding the button for a charge or planning to. I feel like Mega Man 3 is the game-play sweet spot.

5 and 6 have that problem, but 4 is generally good at balancing all of the weapons

This was the first megaman I've played as a child. Just hearing the music alone brings so many memories of my Grand and I playing and her showing me all the tricks from this cheat book we had.
I look forward to Saturday for your videos. I beat Dragon Warrior this past week with your video. What a blast playing that game, I played it many years ago when I was a kid.
My brother and I couldn’t read the first time we played it, so we would wander around aimlessly, just trying/hoping to find Princess Gwaelin. Whenever a Magician would spawn, we thought he was a thief , lol, and we were afraid he was gonna kill us again.
We left the game alone for maybe four years, and then our mother took out the guide books and map that came with the game when she bought it. It was so much simpler then. We knew what to do this time, and after a few weeks, we finally beat the game.
My strategy for the 8 Robot Masters in MM3 was always this - Big Loop first (Magnet Man, Hard Man, Top Man, Shadow Man, Spark Man) and then the little loop (Snake Man, Gemini Man, Needle Man). Sure, that meant I didn't get the Rush Jet until dead last, but honestly I was able to get by without it until the Doc Robot stages.
THat's how I did it too. That was what was written in a strategy guide.

Mega Man 3 was my favorite as a kid and still is today. It was the first game of the series I rented as a kid at the video store growing up in the Detroit area, which led me to getting it for on my birthday in 1991. I had just got the NES for Christmas 90, I was 6 years old.

Capcom: I dunno. Maybe have Megaman circumcising a robot with a laser or something?

You just bought a factory-sealed NES in this day and age, which would cost a house note!? If so, I'm so jealous of you. My original NES from my youth was broken by by brother a long time ago, but I do have the top-down NES as well as the reproduction NES/Super NES hybrid, the RetroDuo.

@@HylianFox3 I'm just generally not going to bother bringing up the menu at all until I get to a boss fight or obstacle that requires a certain power. And that's on any of the games, even if they have everything on one page lol
Megaman was the game series my father bought me every Christmas except for Megaman 6 since I was on the SNES. Megaman 3 was a game I played all winter break and beat before we return to school but I always went back to it all the time. Love the series.

The Needle Cannon is underrated. You can aim it (a little bit), but more importantly it's one of ega man's true rapid fire weapons, and can just nail big enemies (pun intended).
This game was so epic, a true masterpiece. The music, characters, gameplay, all second to none. Thanks for posting 👍🏼😎

Yeah, that's a great game. There are some tricks with jumps to simplify some rooms. Plus there are those hidden icons where you make then break a brick in a specific part.
I’ve been all the mega man’s multiple times, but I really love these videos you make. It’s nice to discover things I never knew were there.

One big reason that I enjoyed 2 and 3 over the sequels were the weapon mechanics. It was fun to experiment to see which weapons did the most damage to the enemies and bosses. Each boss had multiple weapons that worked well and some that did no damage at all. And each weapon had a varying amount of energy, unlike the later games where nearly every weapon used a single point of weapon energy. And most weapons in later games would do minimal damage to the bosses except the one weakness, which usually did like 4 points of damage. The bosses no longer had weapon immunity. Every weapon did at least a little bit of damage. They just felt dumbed down compared to the way MM2 and to a lesser extent, MM3 did it.

@@jeffb.6642 Lol. Everyone in their right mind knows it's a mandatory to use a robot master weapon to progress in the game, at several places. That goes without saying. The point is to use buster wherever it's possible to pass with the buster. This is even needless to say. Lol

You should’ve used the ”jump on rush jet” trick; when you jump, Rush Jet doesn’t use any energy and it still follows under you
He uses it a few times at the top of the screen, also using the wrap-around trick to grab items at the bottom.
As a kid, I pressed the right D-pad with my toe and loved Megaman's super jump.. and invincibility.
This is probably the game I played the most on my NES.

Megaman 3: This is my most-played MM game. I loved the weapon types in this game, and the stages were actually pretty challenging without being too hard.
Love this game and still have my copy. I’m in Australia, but was on holiday in England when it was released and bought it over there and brought it back with me. Great play through, and I learned a few things. I never thought of using topspin on Gamma. The Snake was the weapon I ended up using.

The intro song to this game is the best song ever made for an NES game.

You give me the yummy nostalgia feelings watching this guide play! Especially the memories of tricking my younger sibs into thinking that they’re playing by doing the player 2 exploit! Also would spam the drops from the 1 hit enemies in the rooms where you climb up with a ladder….if I don’t like the drop go back down and hit the respawn until you get either a 1up or E tank…..

I haven't really noticed before, but when Megaman stares up in the sky at Proto/Break Man, we can see Dr. Wily's pod land in the top of the tree.
It’s cool when you revisit those four stages. It’s like they have battle damage from your first run through.
