Goku's jacket: Yes, I'm aware that Goku wears the same jacket in DBZ Manga Volume 10, but I wasn't sure because he had the #26 on both sides of the sleeves. 2. Cell: I just called his alt a recolor because I was assuming that we already knew that his recolor were of the Cell Jr's. Honest mistake. 3. Android 17: Everyone is saying that he wore this at the end of Z but I just went to check again and it looks like he's wearing a blue jacket (before he sends his energy to Goku) I just put GT 17 because that's where everyone mostly see's the jacket instead of a 10 second clip in the woods (like in DBZ)

I always did love that "Suns out, guns out" attire for Dodoria. Makes his design significantly less busy and allows his main features(Muscular arms, spiky body) shine a lot more with more skin exposed.
it's not GT 17, that outfit was from buu saga when he gived his energy to the spirit bomb. also gohan outfit is pretty neat, it's from the filler yes, but outside colors, it's the granpa gohan clothes
Budokai 1 was the 1st game I got for the PS2. Loved the attire for Vegeta and Goku. They're look just had sophistication with it. The fact that they could destroy the planet with a sneeze is a bonus
I just love the Artstyle of Budokai 1 so much. The graphics and cutscenes are unmatched by any other PS2 games. They really should have done the Buu saga. But it's like TFS, even the Mod can't ever happen or thousand years laid dormant.
@@Ngatikuripup29 only in the US version. Well and the dub here wasn't that good in the cutscenes and the script was more suitable for childs than anything else. I'm glad I grew up playing the PAL version with the japanese voices. I like the english voices in Budokai 3 and onwards more but they were too inexperienced for this game.
This game did have some great costumes (even if it was only limited to 2 with every character) what’s even cooler is that the game’s Story Mode includes costumes for both players and npc’s some of which are never usable by the player themselves. Budokai 2 also did this with it’s Majin Cell and Majin Frieza costumes. And even Budokai 3, Burst Limit and Infinite World did the same thing with Captain Ginyu as Goku.
To add, Majin Cell and Frieza were usable costumes, but only in the Japanese “Z 2 V” version of Budokai 2. Cooler and Freiza’s son Kuriza were alternative costume for him in that version, too.

the recolour alt for Android 16 is the capsule Corporation outfit for Android 16, he got this after Capsule Corporation repaired him during the Cell Saga, however, his outfit colours are altered in this.
I think the alt color on Saiyaman might also be a subtle reference to Saiyaman Number 2 (Videl's Saiyaman outfit). Oh also Android 16 isn't a complete recolor. His Red Ribbon logo has had a Capsule corp logo pasted over it.

Frieza and cell's recolour are actually in dbz but used to represent a different time of day or shading for dramatic effect. Blue cell in particular was seen only as perfect cell in the dark, as he was waiting for the Z fighters to arrive for the tournament. This was shown before cell Jr debuted too. Frieza's recolour is a bit harder to find but I do remember seeing him looking like that while in final during his battle with goku for one episode during a sunset; although it's possible they just ran out of colour like with vegeta on planet arleian or it was filler.
Cell and 16's recolors sorta made sense. Cell was the color of a Cell Jr., and 16's armor was chrome instead of green. Compare the 2 costumes- the finish is completely different.

When you search some of the unlockabbles for budokai 1 some sites say ss3 is in the game if you beat the world tournament in advance with all players. Other rumors like super saiyan 4, Majin vegeta and others were always rumored but never confirmed in the game. I was always curious as to what started those rumors and why some of these sites say they are in the game. Thanks.
Lol, Super Saiyan 3 and 4 doesn’t not exist in Budokai 1 unfortunately. The only Buu saga characters is Great Saiyaman and you can get him unlocked after you win the Advanced World Tournament

It is also worth mentioning that Gr. Saiyaman's alternative colors kinda resemble Videl's Great Saiya Woman costume
