Bravo Ons for having reached the semi-final of a master 1000 and all that this represents for the Arab world! and congratulations to Paula for her deserved victory!
why do you have to bring religion into it , it's great for Tunisia . We don't say Badosa winning is great for the Catholic world , it's great for Spain .
Nobody except maybe her team saw this coming, a final at Indian Wells for Badosa. I don't think many people know who she is and I didn't until she beat Barty and made the semis at Charleston in the spring. She has to be in the running for WTA Most Improved Player. 38 match wins this year. One title, 3 semi finals and 2 quarterfinals including Roland Garros and improving her ranking by 50 plus positions.
Dommage !
As a Spaniard, I was rooting for Paula Baldosa, but I very much like Jabeur creative and beautiful gamestyle. Very nice handshake from Ons Jabeur at the end. I admire as well Paula for her mental strength and the progress she's made.
Congratulations two both players for this splendid match. Ons is very very talented but she has to improve her consistency and and also her shape. Paula is very clever and we saw how deeply she studied Ons' game to find her weaknesses. I wish her the best for the final.
Jabeur reminds me of Kuznetsova in her prime in around 2007. There'll be a lot of silky skills and semi-finals, but more often than not she won't make it across the line in big matches. A very similar player in that she's a great athlete who likes to use all the court, but she quite often doesn't win the match. She'll need to be careful though as back in 2007 I would have expected Kuznetsova to improve with all that athletic potential, but it doesn't always happen. The time is often now.
My message to jebur is “from every loss you will learn to win”. Please strengthen your ground strokes and make other player to run more to cover ground. Please avoid using drop shots frequently. Good luck
Well fight Jabuer! She seems a bit exhausted from the Kontaveit match, but still produces many splendid shots. She deserves a very bright career in future.
Ons can absolutely beat any player neatly only if she is focused, but then she has that ons thing like you said which is being stupid, unconcerned not serious with her career, I don’t know what to call it but that is not a fine character for a sports man , no coach can change her, it’s a shit personality and not play know how
I purely identify with Ons for the Arab connection. For someone like me who is half Arab on my mother's side, I see what it means for the Arab women and specially little girls throughout the Middle East to have someone like Ons as a role model to show to them that you can achieve what you believe. She may have lost this match, but she's a legit top 10 singles player and her on court demeanor represents what she truly is. Congratulations to my fellow Tunisians back home, you have a champion from a country which has had a long history of producing winners in a lot of fields and sectors. Her moving into the top 10 is surely going to inspire countless girls out there to pick up a tennis racquet or any sport she wants to play. What an achievement. Thank you Ons for existing in such bleak times to show us as to how it's all done.
Congrats to Badosa. Watching this live was so hectic at the end bc she lost 6 match points. But she held on.. really pumped to see her in the final vs Azarenka. Gooooood stuff man!
Ons ! Has played so well thus far ! I do wanted her in the final ! Oh well , she needs to be more aggressive ! She needs to work on her serve and a fiery second return serve !
The one positive of the randomness that has been this tournament is I'm discovering a ton of players I would have never known before - really hoping some of them hold consistency and we seen them in multiple masters and GS rounds
This tournament out crazied Roland Garros and that took some doing. Even on the Men's side. On the ladies side, a semi between the 24 and 27 seeds and in the men's semis the highest seed is #21.
I wouldn't characterize the match like that. Ons doesn't always lose. She played well. But got beaten by a player who played better. Paula's game is pretty one-dimensional to me, but it is getting her places in this tournament. She will probably take the title.
@@Hammerton32 Ons really didn’t play great. Towards the end she was amazing but this definitley wasn’t a great match for her. Hope she can still qualify for the WTA finals.

I really didn't know who to root for during this match. Both have had a great tournament so far. But from what I had seem of Badosa in the previous round, I figured she might have the edge over Jabeur.
Llegué a este vídeo para ver a Badosa, pero he flipado con el juego de Jabeur. ¡Qué espectáculo de puntos! Enhorabuena a Paula, un largo camino a base de constancia y fé.
Just yesterday I read a past interview of Badosa where she said that she started to get compared with Sharapova right after she won Junior French Open and it took her a long time to mentally recover from that. I am glad that she can play her best tennis now and hope she continues being herself because she's just 23 years old.
With all respect to Badosa but Ons was defeated by herself, she is not only a queen of drop shots but unforced errors as well, talent only is not enough but consistency is a must.

PAULAAA!! 😍❤️ I'm so glad that she won against such a dangerous opponent in Jabeur and she played excellent tennis. Slow hardcourt is well-suited especially for Paula's style of play and I hope she wins the IW title tomorrow.
A little dissapointed for Jabeur but today Badosa played a great game and deserved to win. She's really improved a lot during the past couple of years. Hope she does well in the finals.
in last couple of tournaments this season Badosa was close to reach that semifinal but didn't suceed, after reaching it at IW i think it's finaly time for her to win a tournament.
