Hahaha I remember Flight of the Bathtub! Fun times~ Using crown molding to hide untaped ceiling joints is, sadly, more common than you'd ever believe. It often serves as a point of ingress for insects and temperature differentials. My ENTIRE house is "finished" in this way, and I find as I go through renovating room by room, as I tape and mud the ceiling joint on the exterior walls, each room maintains temperature better than it did before. Also the number of spider webs and dead insects I've found in the crown molding... Yuck!!
I agree on the smoke detector sentiments! So many would have been smashed off the ceiling in the middle of the night & thrown in a cupboard wrapped in a blanket. Not that I would know anything about that... 😅

Andrea you just have to Love him !!!! He is just an adult kid . Just be glad it wasn't a tornado sirens in Oklahoma that's what we have been dealing with when we have tornado watches I can't sleep.So finally our area wasn't under a tornado watch then at 5 in the morning the tornado sirens were going off ..We turned on the TV to see the weather report and there were no tornadoes anywhere near us . That was so stressful. We live in Del City, Oklahoma City is on 3 sides of us then on the other side we have Midwest City and Tinker AFB . All those sirens are going off it was loud. Luckily all our smoke alarms are battery powered so they are easy to shut off. It's like sirens and smoke alarms don't want people to sleep. I'll be watching again next week see you then. You need to get him a drafting table for doing his art. I think you can get them where they can be raised or lowered depending on if he's standing or sitting. I could see an old style trunk in his room with the colours he's picked to store his lego in.
