How to price a mixtape covers?
have you tried paid ads? do they get you clients? Also would you recommend starting a youtube so that way when rappers search”how to make cover art” they might find your video and like your work and hire you is that effective?
So, ive never myself done paid ads. I do know of an independent firm of artists on IG who do, and they get HELLA clientts. As far as youtube, you would more so wanna make a video about a topic rappers are interested in, as graphic desginers would be more inclined to be attracted to that title you mentioned. Ive gotten a coupple people inqurie for sure no doubt.
and if u find artist that interact with there followers by reposting stories or post there tagged in and have a good amount of followers just do free work for them and surprise them and if they like it they'll repost it and tag you

If you are doing work for clients, or anything that will be sold, you should be buying design elements. That way you have the proper rights to use those elements commercially. Otherwise, you may very well may be violating copyright regulations.

PROPS ON THE ARTWORK. If you think this will make you rich in 10 years your wrong. There’s billions of men like this with the same skill. It’s a low level skill which limits your earning. 25 years experience talking, Yes it makes lots of money. If you have the patience to learn and pass up billions already decades ahead of you. From this tutorial nobody will understand it because it’s too fast for beginners but I love that. It works for the Pros. The less designers the better.
Photoshop is for editing photos. Illustrator is for manipulating type. InDesign is for laying it all out. All three are to be used together in the graphic design process. Using pictures and graphics from the internet is a big no no if you plan on printing it. You are more of a Photoshopper.
No I’m not because I use all three depending on what I want to do and how fast. Photoshop is a part of graphic design idk why y’all want photoshop to ONLY be for editing photos.I’ll take it a step further LIGHTROOM is a photo editing program. Photoshop has text tools, 3D tools, etc. more than just photo editing

There are no set rules for how you should do graphic design. What works for some may not work for others and at the end of the day, it's all subjective.
@@HowNiftyYT Photoshop is not a graphic design tool. It is a photo editing tool. There are set rules to graphic design. You learn them in graphic design school and not on TH-cam. That's the problem with the world today, everyone wants to do things without the rules that have been in place for hundreds of years.
@@kevinbrianthomas1 Yes, but doing graphic design in school does not guarantee success, especially when learning new skills has become much easier in recent times via online platforms (such as TH-cam). Why should we limit ourselves to "playing by the book" when some of the world's most successful people have paved their own path and learned by themselves. What difference does it make if I design something in Illustrator when I can basically achieve the same result in Photoshop?

If you want to add an additional service to your graphic designs you should implement creation of basic videos. An idea could be to add your mixtape photo on an animated 15 second clip with the artist you worked for on it with a snippet of their song. I'd be open to doing it for you if you're interested.
