Something that’s worth noting is that you *can* outrun a revenant if it doesn’t have line of sight with you. The increased speed mechanic only works if it sees you, so if you break line of sight around a corner or something similar, it will slow down until it sees you again. Neat trick for no evidence runs
Haha, I did this yesterday. I had a solo mission on High School as well and the more evidence I got, the more nervous I become when it started to narrow down to it being a Revenant, which it was. I was lucky that I found the room pretty fast (with big help from all the ringing on the phone) because I for some reason forgot to add sanity pills. I will never forget the pills ever again after that. xD
Keep your eyes on the ghost and hope you don't miss it or that it's not a crawler. I do wonder, can a Wraith just go through the islands since they can see you?
I guess you can start assuming is a revenant and bring the equipment to check if it is, if the evidence is too close or the same as a revenant you can say good bye to run around the house.
Me and my buds use running from the ghost in a hunt to narrow down identification, we all take turns in running and hiding, and if one dies during a run, he can quickly yell if it's a revenant or not
The biggest bruh moment I had in this game is that it’s honestly insanely easy just to outpace most ghosts, and for when I suspect I can’t, I make sure to put somebody between me and wherever it’s coming from lol
Nice vid, i didn't thought that you can loop the ghost in a sort-of Dead by Daylight mode, but i had a vague suspicion due to the layout in some rooms (storage room on school, the casino on asylum, the kitchen on Bleasdale, etc). IMO Edgefield it's the only map which is recommended to go straight hiding instead of looping due to the very narrow layout (unless the ghost has already locked on you), the rest of the maps it should be easy to loop or even outrun in perspective.
Agreed with Edgefield. Surprisingly to some, on High School and Asylum you're probably actually the safest, there are lots of good loops and long corridors to run down.
Why would an asylum, that could possibly be like a mental health intimate or something, have a casino? I feel like the game maker doesn’t want the game to have a storyline, but it does and is quite interesting.
Just a tip for Highschool: If you decide to use the stairs to go upstairs or downstairs always use the side of the stairs near the outter wall even tho it's the longest way because if you use inner side stairs there is a chance the ghost catch you when you make the turn because his attack may go through the cement banister. Even if the ghost is like 4 meter away this still could happen
This game has nothing in common with dead by daylight. It's 4 human players v 1 AI. Theres no skill checks or gen repairs. Ur using ghost hunting equipment to look for what room the ghost is haunting and the find evidence to determine what type of ghost it is. Its a Co op investigation game. The hunting phase is just to add some minor action gameplay but it's not really the point of the game. Ur supposed to run and hide during a hunt. The fact that you can loop the ghost means they need to tune up the speed of the ghost or tune down the speed of the player. Or just let the ghost teleport
@Niko Dem what u described in dbd is two HUMAN controlled avatars chasing and out witting one another which requires a small amount of skill. Which also involves variable factors because both avatars are human controlled. What is being shown here is a human controlled avatar being chased by a pre programmed AI that will follow the same path and behave in a predetermined way based on its type. The AI will also stop chasing you after a predetermined time limit. This requires no skill. Literally move in the opposite direction of the AI and wait for the timer to end. This is game breaking and obviously not what the developer intended. It should be patched to improve the experience.
Haha it’s awesome looking back on these older videos to see just how far the game has really come in its mechanics and all that. Looping isn’t even possible anymore with the ghost speed changes. But outrunning can be depending on the situation; such as what map you’re on, what the ghost type is, where you are when the hunt starts and whether or not you got smudge sticks to repel the ghost, etc. I love the changes though, hunts are now much more menacing and are more of a threat, which was desperately needed
Reminds me of the first time my friends and I did the new Prison map. I was running from the ghost during a hunt (just out of panic) and my one friend was following and laughing, when I guess I "out ran" it and it turned around and started chasing my friend! It was a real Scooby Doo moment.
@@Nuzzgard I think it’s easier to do it backwards, so you can see if it turns around so you can notice it before it catches you because it looped around the other way.
Thanks for the tips! I do try looping but it gets me most times. I'll try the suggestions that you gave me! :D Also, when will your next stream be if your schedule isn't big?
No worries, it's good to know as you can't always stay hidden! I just need to decide on a date for the next stream and I'll let you guys know in a coming video.
Exactly. The only way I see these tactics half good is if the ghost spawns within those areas and you're about screwed on a head start as hunt begins. If the ghost is up stairs, and I'm down stairs and a hunt starts. It's silly to find a roundabout and actually work to stay alive, when hiding is free and way less effort
I've always preferred hiding during a hunt. Not seeing it and only hearing where it's going makes for a much more creepy experience for me. There's been plenty of times where I've hidden in a room or closet during a hunt and I can hear the ghost marching around and tapping on all the doors it passes by, as if checking for a reaction from it's prey. There was even one occasion where as soon as it hunted, it charged to the door I hid behind, banged on it and then left. Much more creepy!
on Prison, if you find yourself in the cage area by the entrance, you can use the bars to loop around, either loop the entire width of the area or cut through the middle cage door and you can still loop around. its worked for me :D
I wonder why the book says the demon is the worst ghost you can face, i mean, nobody takes a big gulp of "Oh No" when you find out its a demon, but then you figure out its a Revenant and yall take a big bucket of "gEtMeThEfUcKoUtTaHeRe"
a Revenant is called in german: Wiedergänger. Which translates to = again walking. Those are literally Zombies. Someone died and the Reaper personally resurrected the corpse to stalk on the living. So yeah... I'm more scared of an Revenant than a stupid Demon.
You know what would be cool? If all ghosts were slightly faster than the player but you can throw stuff at it instead to slow it down. Imagine just running around the dining table and you keep throwing all the kitchen utensils at it
I've had a few ghosts phase through the kitchen counter tops and get me. Like. They will be on opposite side then bam, I'm dead. Have 0 idea if its a bug, latency, or a feature tbh.
i may be wrong on this one to be honest, if you want to outrun a rev on a big map, you could use doors to break line of sight, or cut corners because remember, rev must meet line of sight to speed up incredibly fast, and if it doesn't its slow as hell. That way you can get a chance of hiding if its on your ass by breaking line of sight, if youre on a small map for example, you could try looping by the counters but there's one catch, you will have to crouch to break line of sight, and cutting corners, also adding to the fact that rev's move slow as hell when it doesn't meet line of sight, giving you enough time to hide. btw, this is only used for if you have to get a picture, escape a hunt, or if it spawns on you and is chasing you, WITHOUT A SMUDGE STICK, im guessing it could be a chance willing to take, may be wrong, idk, but it seems pretty logical to survive if you use it the correct way.
I feel like they should all be able to outrun us to some degree. And if one doesn't have the ability to outrun the player, I feel like it should have another capacity to compensate ( like the ability to go through walls and door during a chase/see you throughwalls/door) The game feels too easy right now, and it makes it less scary as a result.
Why loop around such small loops when you can combine some of them into bigger loops? On both Tanglewood and Ridgeview, couldn't you just loop around both the worktop and table? On Grafton, you could also loop through the entire first floor - foyer, dining room, kitchen, and living room.
I think its less dangerous. How ever, keep your eyes infront of you. Crossing a cornor can make the ghost loosing line of sight which makes it wander. It can just get infront of you. But still, looping around a couch looks kinda unrealiable.
A friend and I were on Tanglewood and the ghost started a hunt over at the bedrooms. We booked it to the garage and tried to hide but she found us, so I proceeded to loop her around the car since apparently I was the target. Terrifying and exhilarating at the same time.
I have a quick question, have you ever experienced how fast a revenant can go? Some people think I’m joking when I say they are REALLY fast. They go slow at first and slowly build up. If you’re dead then you can watch the ghost chase after your friend and watch the ghost slowly run so fast that it’s out of ur vision range. TAKE REVENANTS SERIOUSLY YALL
I've just gone into a game and tested while holding the sprint key, both moving forwards and backwards - they appear to be VERY similar if not the same. I have to say I have been surviving hunts while moving backwards as well as forwards so it does appear you can outrun the ghost using either direction.

Man in big place i can see the the ghost but in small building its so hard to see and outrun it
2 day ago I try to scape running in the high school but the demon was more faster than me :O
Why? he is a demon not a revenant or jinn
its demon more fast than another ghost?
in fact he catch too me friend when he choose run and no hiding :(
Probably because you didn't sprint. Sprinting doesn't actually look like sprinting but it's what it's called for this game
Or a big 8 shape when you are being hunted by ghost when you are loping around some objects so you can look around in a big eight trust me I I survived when the hunt ended.
I heard that sprint crouching is faster than sprinting normally
It's probably the same. It's just the illusion of being faster when you're closer to the ground with the same speed
Don't mares also move faster then you if it's dark?
No they just attack more often
We play prison for the first time and got a revenant. One mate died before we knew what hit us. After that, it was all clear that to this time, such shit was out of our leaqu. Not even knowing the map while dealing with a revenant? Nope, better get outa there
