Just to add a bit more to the Mare, I've had runs where the Mare turns on the lights to lure us in then turn them off and start a hunt, so note that Mares do not turn on lights often but it doesn't mean they won't do it.
Tell that to Paul Sanchez, the worst Mare to ever exist He never turned off the power, he constantly turned lights on(including the ghost room), he did poop water like 3 times, and he liked to toss objects like a poltergeist

yeah, i usually try and avoid hunts when i know im dealing with a revenant, but i think a good no evidence strategy would be listening for slower than usual footsteps during a hunt (while hiding of course)

I took the risks, asked its room and succeeded to go to BoyBedroom on Tanglewood, we figured EMF5 and Writing at first and no responses to spirit box so we just realised "Oh no this could mean... rev?" But then i decided to continue and be a sacrifice Later when i got to 0 and friends were 70, we still got a hunt and the ghost killed a friend in under 3 seconds of starting the hunt. My mistake to be on the end of the room while the room's tight and a revenant was a possible choice. We left and it was indeed a revenant.
I have an OP strat for revs and jinns in medium and large maps. Place two infrared motion sensors 10 steps apart. Then measure the time you take to complete it. Stay near an open door. As a hunt starts and the ghost comea towards you, you can see the sensors light up when it comes toward you. If this happens at the same time you measured its definitely not a rev and 50% not a jinn, but if that gets covered in less than 4 seconds, then it is either a jinn or a rev. If it lights up faster, then enter the open door, close it behind ya and hide in a room, this is easier with smudge sticks but still, hope it helps. Also try to do this near the ghost room
Another way (from experience) to tell a Jinn- is that the power never goes out, no matter how many lights may be on. This could have been me, but I left a fair amount of lights on save for the ghost room.
A TH-camr named psycho proved with many tests that all the ghosts wander and react to the line of sight break in the same way. They still might drop in to any room while wandering during the hunt, but completely randomly. And very rarely they may check lockers
It's not really bugged. Nothing suggest that wraiths see through doors. That's just something people say. The wraiths ability is to teleport into a players room. They don't do this during a hunt. This represents their ability to walk through walls, which the book says it has.
I know I'm late but the new update has made it so that you can hold doors closed during hunts (like in rooms or lockers) and it will stop the ghost from trying to open the door, however this doesn't affects wraiths.
The tip on the freezing temperature is very helpful.. i was wondering why I was getting the wrong ghost after I'd put it in my journal .. now I know .. love your channel.. thanks for the great info 👍
So every ghost without freezing temperatures has actually 4 hints because that it isn't freezing is a clear 4th indicator I hope they change it to something to tick instead of an actual evidence

Hello Nuzzgard. Lately ive dealed with a demon that was constantly hunting me with 50% sanity on all people around. All we knew was that we had freezing temperatures. I went in saying i had 80%sanity and a candle and it would be fine and halfway to the ghost room.he just started hunting. When i returned my sanity had dropped to 70 somehow and i had 3 ghosts in my head. 1 a demon. 2 a Banshee and 3 a yurei. So i stayed inside the truck bc i was afk for some time. And then i checked the sanity it didnt drop by 14 in a minute so i ruled out yurei. Then i looked at the activity for a prolonged time and realized that it probably wasnt emf5. My teammates both died during that time and i told them it was a demon. And packed up and left because that thing was out for blood and it got what it wanted. But thanks to you i correctly identified it as a demon. Love your informational videos and i usually learn a lot from them
So if it's a yurei it only drains sanity when you're in the house, never in truck, but yeah they feel very different from a demon. For yurei you should rule out phantom first, especially when they appear quite often

@@chillero3heftig712 All ghosts (including Yurei) only drain sanity when in their presence/during activity. The difference is that for every 1 second of a Yurei manifestation/interaction it drains 0.4% sanity rather than the default 0.2%!
I have other tests! Mares are easy. Keep your sanity high, first, so you don't get confused or be in danger for this. If you notice the ghost is very shy with little to zero activity when the lights are on (even when you talk to it) try to turn off the lights. If the activity suddenly starts spiking, it's a Mare. If you're in a group, rule out Shade first by having more than one member in the room. For Revenants, another test is this if you're in a group: Set up cameras in the building where the ghost is likely to path (very easy on houses) and have a teammate hide somewhere (lockers are best) while someone stays in the truck. When it starts to hunt, monitor the cameras. If it's slower than your typical ghost as it looks for your teammate, congrats, you have a Revenant. You can also do this alone but it's more foul play and dangerous... Do the same thing. Except this time, taunt the ghost at the door when your sanity is low enough. Perfect if you have an Ouija Board. Run asap to the truck and watch the camera to see if you catch it. Be VERY careful with the cameras though for No Evidence Runs. Remember, ghost pathing. Don't put it anywhere near the room. Big nope. Foyer is usually a good place if that's not its room. Close the ghost room door. If it's a hallway, just make sure the camera is opposite to it.
You singlehandedly kickstarted my ghost phase back up again. This is actually really good, because a project I'm working on has ghosts and this is helping me categorize them a bit

Honestly, I've found in my game, that a Mare will turn lights on to lure me in and then turn them off as soon as I get close to the spawn point and I just. yeet myself away lel. I've had Jinns flicker lights so much they broke the fuse box and Demons yeet things at me more frequently than Poltergeists. Did show this to my friend who hasn't quite gotten down Powers of Deduction in the game, though, and she's feeling much better about playing it, so much thank! I'm *extremely* hopeful that they implement the Phantom warning in the future--the one about Phantoms possessing people. Or making them more active with ouija boards would be fun, since they're "commonly summoned" by the boards. Regardless :3 delightfully informative and magnificently relaxing as ever~ Thank, friend!

I basically use plausible deductions when I'm playing, especially if my friends die and I'm alone and too afraid to go in alone. Since we'd have been provoking the ghost prior. I basically use evidence of the ghosts' behaviour to accurately guess the ghost. 95% of the time I'm right.
This is me exactly. Me and a friend were playing when I realized we had only seen the ghost once and yet our sanity levels were in the upper 40s, based on this I knew it had to be a Yurie because the drop sanity very quickly. My friend didn’t believe me and he chose Phantom, I was correct in the end.

Hello from your friends at A.S.K. Paranormal. Nuzzgard, they should add 4 more entities & 4 more pieces of investigating equipment such as "SLS Cam", "Thermal Imager", "Rempod", & "Holy Water"; They should add "Specter", "Doppelganger", "Jiangshi" & "Residual". The residual ghost is actually just an imprint of someone from the past that's not intelligent, and just is going through the motions & can't actually physically hurt you similar to the next... They should also have poltergiest not be able to actually physically kill you by hand being that the experts in the field are in agreement that poltergeist is basically psychic turbulance, they should also have demon at the top of the list of most dangerous entity, plz pass this along to the community & game maker(s), thanks for awesome vids "Nuzzgard"!
For yurei, its actually the sanity drain you get from being nearby it that is doubled, not the passive sanity from being in the darkness. It might be a bug though, because I think the phantom is supposed to have that ability...
I've had quite a few ghosts (only banshee and mares; haven't checked other types yet) step in salt without leaving footprints each time. It may have been a persistent glitch, but currently I believe footprints work best at ruling OUT wraiths rather than definitively proving it is one.
You can also rule out emf5 by looking at the activity graph. If it goes up by 4 instantly, you have an emf5. (Because the emf is alredy at 1 so 1+4). Try and see if you can confirm this atleast 2x to make sure the ghost did not do two emf at the same time

A nice way to find out if its a mare if the ghost isnt giving the last piece of evidence is by watching the lights. Mares are unlikely to turn on lights, so if that happens, theres a big chance its not a mare

A good test for guessing a demon after ruling out a Mare is keeping your sanity OR the team average BETWEEN 65% and 60%, only demons and mares with their +15 modifier can hunt at that sanity range. Wraiths are broken currently and do not see through doors and lockers also they are sometimes teleporting via one of their special abilities during hunts, something that is not intended. Wraiths will also leave periodically UV feet in one spot since they touch the ground every now and then however they don't walk like other ghosts so you won't see an trail of UV footsteps. For Yureis I have only one phrase: All Yureis Are Fucked. They're all glitchy, sometimes the sanity drain is passive others it's on manifestation, they're all bugged to shit, it depends on the map, on small maps I notice that the sanity drain is applied passively, on large maps there is no sanity drain at all unless you're in the ghost room, sometimes even that don't work and your sanity will drain at double the rate upon seeing the ghost making you think it might be a Phantom, BOI how the game is broken atm. OH BTW Candles are bugged in some maps and are not preventing the passive sanity drop on High School, Grafton and Bleasdale AT ALL.
Actually the reason your sanity drop for a Yurei seemed buggy is because the Yurei's passive sanity drop only happens when you are near it (etc in the ghost room). Just wandering around the house won't cause you to have the special sanity drops from a Yurei.
I replied to someone else about this below. I've definitely had many experiences where I've had faster passive sanity drops for some missions compared to normal even on larger maps such as Asylum, regardless of if I was near the ghost room or if it manifested. It definitely seems to be something that behaves mysteriously, and due to the fact Phasmophobia is in early access I'm sure it will change with updates or new bugs will be introduced that may affect this.
@@Nuzzgard hmm, yea Phas still is buggy for sure. I can’t wait to see what the game and the community will evolve into one day. Also Asylum has given me some odd bugs before, like the ghost spawning in a warm room a floor above and on the opposite side of the map of the cold room. It’s only happened once but it was still weird. I only figured it out because 2 dead teammates had to lead me there.
I've had a glitch a few times now (maybe cuz me and all my ghostin' friends are still in beta?) where after about 5 minutes or so, we'll have one or two pieces of evidence, but then the ghost will just stop all activity. Even if we HAVE the room, and the last thing we need is ghost writing for one of the options, it will just... refuse to. We cant even make it angry with its name or swears. It will maybe throw some things, or we can get foot prints from salt. But it wont do spirit box, writing, or even hunt. I've had to try and piece it together from behavior a few times now but even that isnt so easy because we've had super aggressive shades even when in a group, and super chill oni even when we're messing around in it's room the whole time.
I try with a Demon, I were a friend and me. So in the first minute the Demon opens the door of his ghost room and turn on the lights. Like an invitation, it was very scare because he 'screamed' us ; however, we find two of three evidences in the first minutes.

on my like second game me and a friend found a ouji board and it picked up the "where are you question" (even though we didnt ask) and it said hallway so we started walking to the door (through the hallway) and AS SOON as my friend got outside the door slammed in my face and it hunted and being new to the game i didnt know what to do and it was terrifying
Same in English. The terms ghost, wraith and phantom are pretty interchangeable. Dictionary definitions of both phantom and wraith are "a ghost". The words have deeper meanings too, and also in 'ghost lore' some would say they're different types of ghosts, but if you were wanting to write about a ghost, you could use all the words interchangeably so you weren't just using the same word over and over.
I'm curious. The Banshee will target one player and focus on them until they are dead, then target the next player indefinitely, and so on... What happens if it's targeting player A and then player B intentionally runs into it? Will the Banshee kill player B or just walk through them, hell-bent on taking player A to town?
A few notes 8:12 Thanks to a bug in the current version sanity drain only doubles during ghost manifastation when the player is within 10m of the Yurei (from 0.2/sec to 0.4/sec I believe) 9:22 Thanks to a bug in the current version, the Wraith have problems seeing through some doors on some maps (The lockers in the garages of most maps have been confirmed to block Wraith LOS) 11:00 The Demon may also start hunting at 65% sanity (instead of 50%) So one thing you could do to rule out the Demon and Banshee is farm down to 64% sanity (use pills if under that number) and sit in any room of the house that is NOT the ghost room with a lit candle. Very booring, but to rule out 2 difficult ghosts is usefull Non-video related tips: - To see your "real" sanity, take to lowest number you can see and add 2. So, if the lowest number I can see is 61%, my actual sanity is at 63% - While running a "no evidence" run, you can take a photo of doors that the ghost touch to see if there are fingerprints on the door (noted above the photo in the journal) - When dealing with a possible Revenant, I like to use infrared sensors to track their speed. The player speed is 1.6, and the Revenant hunting speed is at 3. So, I place down two sensors on the same wall, and then count how many time units it takes from sensor A to B. When the ghost is hutning, see if the amount of time units it takes for the ghost to go from A to B. If the number is halfed, you know you're dealing with a Revenant. - The candle is really good, as it negates "over-time" sanity drops (not sanity drops from ghost activity) however, the candles are broken on Grafton, Bleasdale and the highschool! - The EMF reader might just throw you off if the ghost in a Wraith, as their ability to teleport to random locations might give off an emf lvl 2 while you are across the house from the ghost room. - If you experience chain hunts on higher sanity, you're most likely dealing with a Demon.
I've 100% had many experiences where my sanity drains passively over time the whole mission, even when the Yurei has been shy and has never manifested. Even on missions I have played recently. It can definitely be buggy sometimes though.

I'd say there's no need to worry about old footage, the game is still in early access and there's definitely many changes and new bugs introduced with new updates. I'm just talking about some of my past experiences that I have experienced frequently. Who knows how it will function in future updates!
The Yurei thing is actually kind of correct but kind of not. The Yurei will double your sanity drops from witnessing ghost events whether it be throwing objects, turning the light off etc but it won't actually passively decrease sanity drop. Not sure if its intended but thats the way it currently is. Also wraiths currently don't actually see through doors and still break line of site by hiding in closets and shutting doors. Great vid for everything else though :)
I've done some tests for different myths, and here's what I found: Wraiths can't see through doors; Revenents can't change targets without line of sight being broken or smudges being used; If a dead player throws something, the ghost will head towards it; Poltergeists can throw things equally as hard as an Oni; Banshees will wander if the target leaves the building as a hunt starts; Sanity drains by a tiny bit when dead players throw something; Jinns can turn off the breaker, even though that's its weakness; And you can get fingerprints on a non-fingerprint ghost if you take a pic of a door, light switch, etc, immediately after the event. These are all from my experiments, so results may vary.
My gut tends to tell me what ghost type it is. I've gotten quite a few games right by just saying, "Guy's it's an Oni." after the first piece of evidence. Then after gathering all the evidence and it turns out to be an Oni. One time I guessed a Demon on a stream of the game I was watching and it was actually a demon.
I actually never did a no evidence challenge but we have been in situations where we needed to identify the ghost without it doing anything to our evidence tools really and usually around 5 minutes after we found the ghost room its pretty obvious to me what it is or is not

Yurei’s sanity drain only doubled when you look at it manifest as a shadow/ghost or during a hunt within 10m. Pretty sure it doesn’t apply to just being in the dark.
@@miaurakimchi7349 psycho made a video on how sanity drain works, it only drains 14%/minute if you’re in a small map with multiple people. In general playing with multiple people doubles sanity drain
From my experience, I've 100% had my sanity drain much faster passively with Yureis, even recently, regardless of if they have manifested or not. EDIT: As I said to someone else below, this game is still in early access after all so who knows if they'll change how it works in the future or not! I'm sure there will be many bugs involved as well.

But from my personal experience some things are working as intended on certain map while it does not on some others, so to be fair you might be right it's just hard to know for sure
I dont think I'll be doing no evidence runs I just want to increase my chances of guessing correctly for those runs where I have trouble getting all the evidence.
Well, use smudge and break los - it is simple one. I really disappointed that it is only ghost who can catch player in even chances. All others can do it only with gigantic rng help, so they need buff them. Maybe like in DbD, where villain gets buff for ms as he chases one target some time.
8:06 I believe that now the Yurei sanity drop bonus only occurs when you are looking at the ghost durring a ghost event and if you are within 10 meters of the ghost durring a hunt. I do not think it has any affect of passive sanity drop outside the ghost room anymore.
Carry Thermometer, spirit box and flashlight, find room, then start hauling all possible evidence items (book, video camera, uv, salt, emf) And regardless of where the ghost is, try spirit box questions (Lights off the room, check if shy) Spirit Box always works in communicating to the ghost, as in you can speak and it can hear you better when one is turned on. Situation gets easier when it replies, because you know about where it is and if it's in a hunting mood. Also, overall try "trigger words" on the box to increase activity in ghost room: The more active it is, the more likely it gives off various evidence like showing itself, throwing things, writes in a book or opens doors. TLDR: Utilize spirit box phrases even when ghost doesn't reply, yell trigger words/phrases, to increase activity. (Bring a crucifix/smudge to help things not get too bad)
@@Chillwave6 I had this problem a few times but it fixed after i restarted my computer. I would recommend you go into steam and right click the game>properties>local files>verify integrity of game files. That's the only solution i can think of.

I saw a revenant hunt as a ghost, it does step normally until he finds someone in line of sight and then he just rush 2x the speed

The powerbox will still go off when there are too many lights on. The max you can have on any map is around 10. Jinn's don't effect this.

So every ghost without freezing temperatures has actually 4 hints because that it isn't freezing is a clear 4th indicator

Hello Nuzzgard. Lately ive dealed with a demon that was constantly hunting me with 50% sanity on all people around. All we knew was that we had freezing temperatures. I went in saying i had 80%sanity and a candle and it would be fine and halfway to the ghost room.he just started hunting. When i returned my sanity had dropped to 70 somehow and i had 3 ghosts in my head. 1 a demon. 2 a Banshee and 3 a yurei. So i stayed inside the truck bc i was afk for some time. And then i checked the sanity it didnt drop by 14 in a minute so i ruled out yurei. Then i looked at the activity for a prolonged time and realized that it probably wasnt emf5. My teammates both died during that time and i told them it was a demon. And packed up and left because that thing was out for blood and it got what it wanted. But thanks to you i correctly identified it as a demon. Love your informational videos and i usually learn a lot from them
So if it's a yurei it only drains sanity when you're in the house, never in truck, but yeah they feel very different from a demon. For yurei you should rule out phantom first, especially when they appear quite often

@@chillero3heftig712 All ghosts (including Yurei) only drain sanity when in their presence/during activity. The difference is that for every 1 second of a Yurei manifestation/interaction it drains 0.4% sanity rather than the default 0.2%!

I have other tests!
Mares are easy. Keep your sanity high, first, so you don't get confused or be in danger for this. If you notice the ghost is very shy with little to zero activity when the lights are on (even when you talk to it) try to turn off the lights. If the activity suddenly starts spiking, it's a Mare. If you're in a group, rule out Shade first by having more than one member in the room.
For Revenants, another test is this if you're in a group: Set up cameras in the building where the ghost is likely to path (very easy on houses) and have a teammate hide somewhere (lockers are best) while someone stays in the truck. When it starts to hunt, monitor the cameras. If it's slower than your typical ghost as it looks for your teammate, congrats, you have a Revenant.
You can also do this alone but it's more foul play and dangerous... Do the same thing. Except this time, taunt the ghost at the door when your sanity is low enough. Perfect if you have an Ouija Board. Run asap to the truck and watch the camera to see if you catch it.
Be VERY careful with the cameras though for No Evidence Runs. Remember, ghost pathing. Don't put it anywhere near the room. Big nope. Foyer is usually a good place if that's not its room. Close the ghost room door. If it's a hallway, just make sure the camera is opposite to it.

Honestly, I've found in my game, that a Mare will turn lights on to lure me in and then turn them off as soon as I get close to the spawn point and I just. yeet myself away lel.
I've had Jinns flicker lights so much they broke the fuse box and Demons yeet things at me more frequently than Poltergeists. Did show this to my friend who hasn't quite gotten down Powers of Deduction in the game, though, and she's feeling much better about playing it, so much thank!
I'm *extremely* hopeful that they implement the Phantom warning in the future--the one about Phantoms possessing people. Or making them more active with ouija boards would be fun, since they're "commonly summoned" by the boards.

I basically use plausible deductions when I'm playing, especially if my friends die and I'm alone and too afraid to go in alone. Since we'd have been provoking the ghost prior. I basically use evidence of the ghosts' behaviour to accurately guess the ghost. 95% of the time I'm right.
This is me exactly. Me and a friend were playing when I realized we had only seen the ghost once and yet our sanity levels were in the upper 40s, based on this I knew it had to be a Yurie because the drop sanity very quickly. My friend didn’t believe me and he chose Phantom, I was correct in the end.

Nuzzgard, they should add 4 more entities & 4 more pieces of investigating equipment such as "SLS Cam", "Thermal Imager", "Rempod", & "Holy Water"; They should add "Specter", "Doppelganger", "Jiangshi" & "Residual". The residual ghost is actually just an imprint of someone from the past that's not intelligent, and just is going through the motions & can't actually physically hurt you similar to the next... They should also have poltergiest not be able to actually physically kill you by hand being that the experts in the field are in agreement that poltergeist is basically psychic turbulance, they should also have demon at the top of the list of most dangerous entity, plz pass this along to the community & game maker(s), thanks for awesome vids "Nuzzgard"!

For yurei, its actually the sanity drain you get from being nearby it that is doubled, not the passive sanity from being in the darkness. It might be a bug though, because I think the phantom is supposed to have that ability...
I've had quite a few ghosts (only banshee and mares; haven't checked other types yet) step in salt without leaving footprints each time. It may have been a persistent glitch, but currently I believe footprints work best at ruling OUT wraiths rather than definitively proving it is one.

You can also rule out emf5 by looking at the activity graph. If it goes up by 4 instantly, you have an emf5. (Because the emf is alredy at 1 so 1+4). Try and see if you can confirm this atleast 2x to make sure the ghost did not do two emf at the same time

A nice way to find out if its a mare if the ghost isnt giving the last piece of evidence is by watching the lights. Mares are unlikely to turn on lights, so if that happens, theres a big chance its not a mare

A good test for guessing a demon after ruling out a Mare is keeping your sanity OR the team average BETWEEN 65% and 60%, only demons and mares with their +15 modifier can hunt at that sanity range. Wraiths are broken currently and do not see through doors and lockers also they are sometimes teleporting via one of their special abilities during hunts, something that is not intended. Wraiths will also leave periodically UV feet in one spot since they touch the ground every now and then however they don't walk like other ghosts so you won't see an trail of UV footsteps.
For Yureis I have only one phrase: All Yureis Are Fucked.
They're all glitchy, sometimes the sanity drain is passive others it's on manifestation, they're all bugged to shit, it depends on the map, on small maps I notice that the sanity drain is applied passively, on large maps there is no sanity drain at all unless you're in the ghost room, sometimes even that don't work and your sanity will drain at double the rate upon seeing the ghost making you think it might be a Phantom, BOI how the game is broken atm.
OH BTW Candles are bugged in some maps and are not preventing the passive sanity drop on High School, Grafton and Bleasdale AT ALL.
Actually the reason your sanity drop for a Yurei seemed buggy is because the Yurei's passive sanity drop only happens when you are near it (etc in the ghost room). Just wandering around the house won't cause you to have the special sanity drops from a Yurei.
I replied to someone else about this below. I've definitely had many experiences where I've had faster passive sanity drops for some missions compared to normal even on larger maps such as Asylum, regardless of if I was near the ghost room or if it manifested.
It definitely seems to be something that behaves mysteriously, and due to the fact Phasmophobia is in early access I'm sure it will change with updates or new bugs will be introduced that may affect this.
@@Nuzzgard hmm, yea Phas still is buggy for sure. I can’t wait to see what the game and the community will evolve into one day. Also Asylum has given me some odd bugs before, like the ghost spawning in a warm room a floor above and on the opposite side of the map of the cold room. It’s only happened once but it was still weird. I only figured it out because 2 dead teammates had to lead me there.

I've had a glitch a few times now (maybe cuz me and all my ghostin' friends are still in beta?) where after about 5 minutes or so, we'll have one or two pieces of evidence, but then the ghost will just stop all activity. Even if we HAVE the room, and the last thing we need is ghost writing for one of the options, it will just... refuse to. We cant even make it angry with its name or swears. It will maybe throw some things, or we can get foot prints from salt. But it wont do spirit box, writing, or even hunt.
I've had to try and piece it together from behavior a few times now but even that isnt so easy because we've had super aggressive shades even when in a group, and super chill oni even when we're messing around in it's room the whole time.
I try with a Demon, I were a friend and me. So in the first minute the Demon opens the door of his ghost room and turn on the lights. Like an invitation, it was very scare because he 'screamed' us ; however, we find two of three evidences in the first minutes.

all ghosts can only hunt you after the countdown timer is up and you are under 50% sanity, except:
mare: 60% sanity when room lights are off, 40% when room lights are on
demon: 75% sanity
banshee: any %
yokai: 80% if you’re talking

on my like second game me and a friend found a ouji board and it picked up the "where are you question" (even though we didnt ask) and it said hallway so we started walking to the door (through the hallway) and AS SOON as my friend got outside the door slammed in my face and it hunted and being new to the game i didnt know what to do and it was terrifying

Go deeper. Gespinst isn't actually there but Geist is, so they have been different things in history
Same in English. The terms ghost, wraith and phantom are pretty interchangeable. Dictionary definitions of both phantom and wraith are "a ghost". The words have deeper meanings too, and also in 'ghost lore' some would say they're different types of ghosts, but if you were wanting to write about a ghost, you could use all the words interchangeably so you weren't just using the same word over and over.
The banshee one you might confuse people with demon. Demon can hunt at high sanity 65+ for Banshee it's under 65

The Banshee will target one player and focus on them until they are dead, then target the next player indefinitely, and so on...
What happens if it's targeting player A and then player B intentionally runs into it? Will the Banshee kill player B or just walk through them, hell-bent on taking player A to town?
A few notes
8:12 Thanks to a bug in the current version sanity drain only doubles during ghost manifastation when the player is within 10m of the Yurei (from 0.2/sec to 0.4/sec I believe)
9:22 Thanks to a bug in the current version, the Wraith have problems seeing through some doors on some maps (The lockers in the garages of most maps have been confirmed to block Wraith LOS)
11:00 The Demon may also start hunting at 65% sanity (instead of 50%) So one thing you could do to rule out the Demon and Banshee is farm down to 64% sanity (use pills if under that number) and sit in any room of the house that is NOT the ghost room with a lit candle. Very booring, but to rule out 2 difficult ghosts is usefull
Non-video related tips:
- To see your "real" sanity, take to lowest number you can see and add 2. So, if the lowest number I can see is 61%, my actual sanity is at 63%
- While running a "no evidence" run, you can take a photo of doors that the ghost touch to see if there are fingerprints on the door (noted above the photo in the journal)
- When dealing with a possible Revenant, I like to use infrared sensors to track their speed. The player speed is 1.6, and the Revenant hunting speed is at 3. So, I place down two sensors on the same wall, and then count how many time units it takes from sensor A to B. When the ghost is hutning, see if the amount of time units it takes for the ghost to go from A to B. If the number is halfed, you know you're dealing with a Revenant.
- The candle is really good, as it negates "over-time" sanity drops (not sanity drops from ghost activity) however, the candles are broken on Grafton, Bleasdale and the highschool!
- The EMF reader might just throw you off if the ghost in a Wraith, as their ability to teleport to random locations might give off an emf lvl 2 while you are across the house from the ghost room.
- If you experience chain hunts on higher sanity, you're most likely dealing with a Demon.
I've 100% had many experiences where my sanity drains passively over time the whole mission, even when the Yurei has been shy and has never manifested. Even on missions I have played recently. It can definitely be buggy sometimes though.

I'd say there's no need to worry about old footage, the game is still in early access and there's definitely many changes and new bugs introduced with new updates. I'm just talking about some of my past experiences that I have experienced frequently. Who knows how it will function in future updates!
The Yurei thing is actually kind of correct but kind of not.
The Yurei will double your sanity drops from witnessing ghost events whether it be throwing objects, turning the light off etc but it won't actually passively decrease sanity drop.
Not sure if its intended but thats the way it currently is.
Also wraiths currently don't actually see through doors and still break line of site by hiding in closets and shutting doors.

I've done some tests for different myths, and here's what I found:
Wraiths can't see through doors;
Revenents can't change targets without line of sight being broken or smudges being used;
If a dead player throws something, the ghost will head towards it;
Poltergeists can throw things equally as hard as an Oni;
Banshees will wander if the target leaves the building as a hunt starts;
Sanity drains by a tiny bit when dead players throw something;
Jinns can turn off the breaker, even though that's its weakness;
And you can get fingerprints on a non-fingerprint ghost if you take a pic of a door, light switch, etc, immediately after the event.
These are all from my experiments, so results may vary.

Normally I close the video when they have a face cam (minus a few exceptions) but for this I stayed for the beard.
My gut tends to tell me what ghost type it is. I've gotten quite a few games right by just saying, "Guy's it's an Oni." after the first piece of evidence. Then after gathering all the evidence and it turns out to be an Oni. One time I guessed a Demon on a stream of the game I was watching and it was actually a demon.
Sweet now I don’t have to worry about dying
I actually never did a no evidence challenge but we have been in situations where we needed to identify the ghost without it doing anything to our evidence tools really and usually around 5 minutes after we found the ghost room its pretty obvious to me what it is or is not

Yurei’s sanity drain only doubled when you look at it manifest as a shadow/ghost or during a hunt within 10m. Pretty sure it doesn’t apply to just being in the dark.

@@miaurakimchi7349 psycho made a video on how sanity drain works, it only drains 14%/minute if you’re in a small map with multiple people. In general playing with multiple people doubles sanity drain
One time I got a ghost that was a blank line. We got a bunch of evidence which made the ghost in question impossible
Banshee is a bit creepy to encounter when hunting for the player
If you haven't ruled out a yurei, aren't they also weak to smudgesticks? Couldn't you get confused?
8:08 Yurei don't actually drain more in the dark, they drain the sanity twice as fast while appearing to the player

But from my personal experience some things are working as intended on certain map while it does not on some others, so to be fair you might be right it's just hard to know for sure

Well, use smudge and break los - it is simple one. I really disappointed that it is only ghost who can catch player in even chances. All others can do it only with gigantic rng help, so they need buff them. Maybe like in DbD, where villain gets buff for ms as he chases one target some time.
With the new update it takes longer to get freezing temps keep that in mind!

8:06 I believe that now the Yurei sanity drop bonus only occurs when you are looking at the ghost durring a ghost event and if you are within 10 meters of the ghost durring a hunt. I do not think it has any affect of passive sanity drop outside the ghost room anymore.

Carry Thermometer, spirit box and flashlight, find room, then start hauling all possible evidence items (book, video camera, uv, salt, emf) And regardless of where the ghost is, try spirit box questions (Lights off the room, check if shy) Spirit Box always works in communicating to the ghost, as in you can speak and it can hear you better when one is turned on. Situation gets easier when it replies, because you know about where it is and if it's in a hunting mood. Also, overall try "trigger words" on the box to increase activity in ghost room: The more active it is, the more likely it gives off various evidence like showing itself, throwing things, writes in a book or opens doors.
TLDR: Utilize spirit box phrases even when ghost doesn't reply, yell trigger words/phrases, to increase activity. (Bring a crucifix/smudge to help things not get too bad)

@@Chillwave6 I had this problem a few times but it fixed after i restarted my computer. I would recommend you go into steam and right click the game>properties>local files>verify integrity of game files. That's the only solution i can think of.
