Body Talk, the great sync pop. One of my favorite RV b-sides.
Something that I love about RV songs is every time you check one song or album, you always find something interesting or new. And it's a different experience to watch their MVs or just hear the song, or check their live performances.

Also when Wendy had her terrible accident at SBS that left her severely injured for a year, it was Solar who came to her rescue and notified the SBS staff.
Body Talk one of not THE best Non-ballad sentimental songs of all time. To fully get across the dread you feel when someone says "we need to talk" and you know the break up is coming and reading it all from someone's body language and feeling absolutely powerless to stop it. The way your heart sinks is mirrored by the way the Synth bass sinks and rises, the way time slows down as you think over what you could have done wrong is exemplified in the verses and the realisation that you failed to save this relationship as the thought settles in your mind. It's heart-breaking and Soul-rending and yet you have nobody to blame but yourself. and the only action you can take is to Cry and console your self that maybe you'll get it right next time.
If that's not perfect storytelling in music I have confidence in me saying nobody does Realism Like RV.
I’m a diehard RV stan and Rookie is my all time favorite song from them 😂 not saying it’s their best but it’s sonically perfect to me
The MV is wild and the song is a bop! I'm finding that happens a lot with them, the MV might be a little out there but the song is a hit!
Little Little is still in my top 3 Rv B-sides after 6 years !!
this is up there with the top red velvet albums for me!!! like little little is an amazing song and no one talks about it along with body talk😭😭😭 it’s a great album all together and I love the album cover so much🩵

When I first heard Body Talk, it reminded me of some ost of galaxy space movie, probably Vangelis. I love electro synth instrumentals. Props to all composers, producers and SM team.
Rookie is where an RV album starts to come together, imo despite (maybe because of?) the title track. I find the b-sides to be the real gems. Cannot wait for the next batch of albums. The Red Summer-The Perfect Red Velvet-RBB is a strong run. Summer Magic is a lot of fun too.

Rookie is such a well produced song even though it's one of my least fav title tracks. Also, Body Talk is a GOAT bside but I also love Talk To Me and Little Little.

Wendy is a vocal goddess! They all are but Wendy is exceptional in her talent, easily one of the best, if not THE best, vocalist of 3rd gen, imo.

I'm looooving it! I will say I think I found my favorite b-side (currently in the deep dive) I was jamming so hard! LOL I love that they give you so many different sounds, reminds me a bit of Dreamcatcher in a way where you just never know what sound you are going to get!

Last Love reminds me of a modernized Carpenters song.
There is a theory that the ROOKIE video mocks the impeachment of President Park a few months previous.
But unless you know the story, it takes a long time to explain.
And "Body Talk" in a dark room with good quality headphones on is life-changing.
You chose the right album as a stopover and to listen to some side tracks and OSTs... during this early period of Red Velvet!
If you divide Red Velvet's idol career into 4 chapters, you're very good at choosing the right stopping point!
Rookie marks the end of Red Velvet's difficult rookie period. 'Rookie' gave them 10 music show wins, marking their first truly successful era. And enter the successful chapter of Red Velvet's career.
You'll be taking a break after this era, do you have anything you'll look at yet? (OSTs, SMSTAION videos...) I can give you some suggestions. However, since my bias is Joy,... you know!
To be close to where you are stopping in, I will suggest songs from 2016 - 2017:
1) JOY - Yeowooya [The liar and his lover OST] (2017)
The music MV of this song and the debut of actress Park Sooyoung has 23 million views. It's a pretty high number for a rookie!
2) "Always In My Heart" - JOY with Lim Seul-ong (I hope I don't write the guy's name wrong!) (2016)
This is an SMStation where my beautiful actress Joy cuts her hair out of anger and makes me heartbroken!
3) "Darling U" - Seulgi x YESUNG of Super Junior (2017)
This is an interesting SMStation, a small fact that Seulgi and Yesung are 10 years old apart! And they were a couple who loved each other innocently and shyly in that MV. So cute! You should take a look.
4) "Spring Love" - Eric Nam X Wendy (2016)
A lovely song, you can find their stage on You Hee-yeol's sketchbook and Music Bank singing this song! However, I don't know if you can react to them!
If you don't mind reacting live to the rookie album later, I recommend the live videos at their concerts, because at their concerts there are several songs that are song in full version... sorry my englis is bad ...
There are a few concert performances on tomorrows video for the rookie album! 🥰
