    Look the videos you see are the tunes everyone loves . He's a legend remember we're talking about a man who can play pipes, small pipes uillean pipes and put on a fantastic show but still go to the northern meetings or Inverness or so and still pick up good prizes so all I'm saying is remember who u talking bout cause we will always be talking bout him .

      It wasn't intended to be an insult, I just wonder why someone who has been playing pipes for so longs seems to play the same small handful of tunes in every performance.

      Appolo Geticks it's something I call "show tunes selection" There's always different people at his concerts so he plays the tunes that he thinks people will like

      He must have it set up to take very little air and play easy.

      Just try it sometime. The more you do it, the easier it gets.

    Im stuck in north wales learning my dads old pipes, he died before i got my hands on them, i can only play a synthetic bagpipe chanter reed, surefire reeds that cost £15 each, can you please tell me how to break in a cane bagpipe chanter Reed, any advice id treasure, thank you DAVID CALLUM BEGG

    • @JBrooksNYS
      @JBrooksNYS 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have to learn how to slightly shave it with a razor, depending on what type of cane reed you have. It will play easier. Also dipping it in some vodka or water and holding it in between your fingers to warm and moisten it before playing helps it play easier.

      Cane reedmakers offer reeds of 5 or 6 strengths from 'beginner' to 'ohmagerd' and you can order them in suitable strengths.
      Expect the easiest chanter reeds to have the shortest service life.

    That's why this is good...piping today is too much about right and wrong...music has faults and that's what makes it enjoyable Fred is the only piper worth listing to as a solo piping artist...top stuff

      A set of variations on the main melody of hector the hero, not sure if it’s his own arrangement or not.

    Fred spielt richtig gut, aber den der das Video geschnitten hat und ständig die Musik unterbricht gehört geschlagen. Warum kann man die blöde Kamera nicht auf ein Stativ stellen und es Mal 10 min. einfach in Ruhe lassen solange der Künstler spielt?

    I don't know why he plays the first tune in mixolydian scale (Scottish pipes) when it was written in major scale. There is another fingering to play the major scale.
