Great work! I'v seen your old video with CNC Vertigo MX-1 Neptune and was wondering whether is it possible to make climbing holds with some less expensive and more portable CNC? MX-1 looks great, but price and space required are just too much.
Thanks, Alex! It's definitely possible, but I don't think it's much fun. The MX-1 is a good, small machine, but the spindel is already slightly underpowered for milling large things out of hard hardwood. So neither would I want to downgrade the spindel nor reduce the stiffness / weight (and thus price of the machine). You could consider going with smaller x and y dimensions (you definitely need the 140 mm z-travel), but I have no idea whether there are machines out there that are as sturdy and much cheaper (the MX-1 is already on the lower price range of good machines).
I'm not promoting anything or paying for any promotion. This video is getting some weirdly increased traffic today from people who are apparently not interested in this topic... where did you see it being promoted?
Proud owner of some Wurft holds. Great work!
Thanks, Markus! I appreciate it.
Great stuff, thanks for sharing your knowledge ! Would be great to see a little video about CNC as well ❤
Thanks! You're welcome. Ok, let's see how many people are interested in a CNC video
Beautiful work.
Thank you

I thought you were in New Zealand not Germany? 🤔
We used to live in New Zealand, but we moved back to Germany last year.
@@wurfttobias That's cool. My grandmother came to the States from Schwarzwald after World War 1. The Frankenjura is a fun place to climb...
@@senorblondie It's a small world: I grew up in the black forest...
