Becoming a Muslim is easy, all it requires is sincerity, a little understanding of Islam and finally saying the Testimony of Faith (the Shahada) which is a short sentence that initiates you into becoming a Muslim.
So briefly, let me explain a little about Islam.
The Arabic word ‘Islam’ means ‘submission’, and is derived from a word meaning ‘peace’. As such, the religion of Islam teaches that in order to achieve true peace of mind and surety of heart, one must submit to God and live according to His Divinely revealed Laws.
Islam is not a new religion because ‘submission to the will of God’, i.e. Islam, has always been the only acceptable religion in the sight of God. For this reason, Islam is the true ‘natural religion’, and it is the same eternal message revealed through the ages to all of God’s prophets and messengers. The main message of all the prophets has always been that there is only One True God and He alone is to be worshipped. These prophets started with Adam and included Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, John the Baptist, Jesus and finally Mohammad peace and blessings be upon them all.
Ok, now you know a little about Islam, the last thing you will need before the Testimony of Faith.. is Sincerity. This part will solely be dependent on you, nobody knows what’s in your heart so you will have to know if you truly believe in Allah and His religion “Islam”.
Here’s a list of what you should already believe in before moving forward to finally becoming a Muslim:
1. Not worshiping anything or anyone except Allah.
2. Accept That Mohammad peace be upon him is the final messenger of Allah.
3. Believe in the prophets that Allah sent and the books He revealed, and His angels.
4. Believe that the Quran is the literal word of Allah, revealed by Him to His final messenger Muhammad.
5. Believe that the Judgment Day is true and will come at a time only known to Allah.
6. Accept Islam as your religion.
If you meet the short conditions above then you are ready for the last step to becoming a Muslim.
All that a person has to do now to become a Muslim is to say a sentence called the Testimony of Faith (Shahada). We’ll go through it together but first let me give you the English translation:
(I bear witness that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah).
Now that you know the meaning of the testimony that will enter you into Islam, if you’re ready to become a Muslim and return to the path of the One who created you then please repeat after me:
Ash hadu
an laa ilaaha
illallaah,
wa ash hadu
anna
Muhammadan
rasool-ullaah

@@chmezpolab Hi sorry for the late response. I'm so sorry that your family are treating you this way. Unfortunately not many families will accept their child's conversion to Islam easily due to ignorance. My advise would be to become a Muslim and perhaps keep it a secret until you feel like your family is ready to accept your conversion inshallah. Also there are many Muslim converts online that are in your situation, perhaps watch their videos and see how they tackled this issue. Unfortunately Its not allowed in Islam, as it falls under the category of deception. That rule is for both men and women.
