There is reason to be optimistic because development is not a linear process. In the modern world good ideas spread quickly, and Africa has the critical mass of talented, visionary people with enough will power and resources to make things happen. Cheering for this from Italy.

Someone with your mindset must be quite rare in Italy (with all the racism toward sub-Saharan Africans that's currently going on in Italy) - but bravo, for not blindly following the herd!

@@lesleykramer7207 , racism has always been a big problem in Italy and elsewhere, unfortunately. By racism I mean the irrational belief that immigration is a catastrophe. However, two things must be said in this regard: 1) you get an inaccurate picture of Italian mentality by looking at the polls. Anti immigration parties are becoming popular also for reasons that have nothing to do with immigration 2) There has always been a strong and active anti-racist movement.

I'm a Canadian Chinese and when I was a young man I spent quite a few summers in Mainland China. Seeing the poverty and seeing how China had become so backwards was truly heartbreaking. But given what has happened in the last 30 years fills me with hope and joy and I never imagined that with in my own lifetime I would see China become strong enough to re-take its rightful place in the world. Seeing a re-born and revived China is something that is truly astonishing and fills me with joy.
I hope that one day Africans will have its Renaissance too, grow and develop economically and retake its rightful place in the world. Without economic development Africa will never truly be free and Africans can never be truly Masters of their own Homeland. I hope the joy that I feel will be something you feel too!

I hope you dont mean western development? because hello LESSONS LEARNED. notice not even birth the end up sustaining. What future Earth will have if we repeat errors of the West. The truth is AFRICA doesnt need development. The culture in Africa was forged with eons of millenniums of Test A/B. It just need to stop being robbed; and it will be well.
......... if you pull back you will notice THE WEST more and more is adopting African way of life they onced laughed at. Natural living, smaller footprint, tiny homes (dont call them huts), natural medicine(dont call it bush doctor herbals )... even carry babies wrapped ..i mean (baby-backpacks)
vlogger also do a disservice to Africa by bragging their country has the same McDonalds like the West, and same policy of creating gated communities.
💯✨Africa needs less Fred Swanikers - because behind all of it is USING AFRICA'S YOUTH to become working serfs for the West or 1%ers. Education isnt African it 3:35 Western Indoctrination. aka White Jesus 2.0. all he is is another shill, an agent. Who is funding his speeches? 5:40 = are western issues.
climate change. AFRICA wont flood if all the ice melt(95% of the continent sits high. AFRICA IS THE ARK), Africa has the least C02 emission. the other are western concerns about Africa. Africa is massive (22 climates, 6 time zones). it can hold 7 Billion people easily.

    • @samsmith4242
      @samsmith4242 4 ปีที่แล้ว

cinnamonstar808 everywhere has a culture from testing A/B. Africa is not the ark since climate change means higher temperatures. If anything that title goes to Siberia. The tiny homes and natural medicines (most of which don’t work if referring to things like essential oils) are a result of changing times. They were and are not unique to Africa, and the CO2 emissions is purely due to circumstances

I'm glad there's African young visionaries out there willing to build initiatives like this. We definitely should support them with everything we've got. Corrupt leadership is really the bane of Africa's development. We've tried all sorts of militant ways to force change from the top to no avail. This young man's approach of changing the mindset of the youth is certainly a new approach. My question is how do these smart people get into strategic positions where they can actually foster change? In many African countries, politics is a minefield full of psychopaths willing to do anything to get into and maintain power. And the majority of the electorate is poor and ill educated. Thus they are more prone to elect these machievallian characters who shower them with chunk change during election campaigns.
Change will be more possible if it starts from the grassroots. Maybe this university could also train their scholars on how to do grass roots level civil education that aims to change the culture from the ground up. If people at the grass roots level refuse bribes and only pay attention to leaders who deliver, then it would make it difficult for upcoming leaders to simply buy their way into power. A change in the hearts and minds of the people is the necessary. A cultural revolution is a necessary ingredient for initiatives like this to have Continental effect. If only initiatives like this could be extended into every sector of the continent's society.

All other African countries should lend a helping hand in adopting this institution and have a campus in every African country where graduates will use his or her own country's real problems and the solution as a thesis for graduation. These should be submitted to each researcher's country's congress and eventually on top of the president's desk. Solutions must be unique to the country. Good job Swaniker, I love you. Thank you for insight into new education system' we need more vocational education programs to allow people to work for themselves and create jobs and not this graduates programs to look for jobs' which in fact create high unemployment and retrenchment at sometimes. Viva my African brothers mostly in forefront and few sisters who unselflessly willing to invest their wisdom' capital' resources' efforts to transform Africa. May God bless you all.

Amini Cishugi is one of these problem solvers. The DRC is blessed to have him.

I love your channel. I can't tell how many videos I've watched. I'm so sleepy right now... Maybe one more will do. Thanks

Great channel. I expect that Africa will develop a lot in the next year. I wish my country policymakers, I'm from Brazil, were more aware of the opportunities Africa has and will have. Here, in Latin America, we had the same problems of terrible leadership and institutions in the early years after our independences.

I think Africa is going to be alright, not only is the bright African mind awakening on the continent but us second generation African immigrants living abroad also think about helping our home countries and continent in general. People really don't know that Africa is the future.

This is an absolutely video, seeing growth like this is wonderful. I really dislike the image the world has of Africa and Africans ,this just goes to show them how successful Africa is and can be.

All Africa needs is a few countries to follow up on Swaniker's ideals to start up a chain reaction across the whole continent. People want what works and try to follow and copy it even if it is never perfect it will be a good start.

    Informative Video!
It's great to know about ALX being an initiative of ALU! I actually just concluded the ALX AI Career Essentials program, and it was a great experience. Africa is in dire need of change, and I am working to be a catalyst as a young leader. ✨
